"I know."
Ivy stared at Xander in surprise.
"You said her name before you passed out." His voice remained calm, but a dangerous glint flashed across his eyes. "But don't worry... I haven't killed her. Yet."
Most people would've shivered hearing those words. Ivy didn't.
Instead, anger surged through her.
She had no idea Florine would go to such lengths, but she also knew this wasn't entirely Florine's idea. Florine wasn't the type to kill someone unless someone else pulled the strings.
Seeing the storm brewing in Ivy's eyes, Xander gently cupped her cheek.
"Don't overthink it," he said softly. "We'll talk about everything once you've recovered."
He knew countless questions were racing through her mind, but he also knew her body had barely survived the surgery. Right now, she needed rest more than answers.
As Ivy looked at him, Xander leaned forward and placed a tender kiss on her forehead.
"Stay here. I'll call Aaron."
He smiled faintly before reaching for his phone.
