Chapter 10

The Perfect Location

The city center of Valerian Territory was alive with wonderful energy and magic. Carriages with shiny wooden wheels rolled smoothly along the wide stone streets while cheerful merchants loudly advertised their goods in friendly voices that echoed happily between the buildings. The air smelled amazing — a delicious mix of roasted meat on sticks, sweet honey cakes drizzled with glowing syrup, fresh warm bread straight from stone ovens, and the faint sparkle of enchanted fruits that shimmered softly in woven baskets.

Colorful banners in bright reds, blues, and golds fluttered happily above the market stalls like joyful flags celebrating the lively day. Enchanted lanterns floated slowly in the air like lazy fireflies, casting soft golden light even in the middle of the day. Little spirit animals with fluffy tails peeked out from alleyways, their eyes bright with curiosity as they watched the busy crowd passing through the market square.

Lucas stood right in the middle of the lively street, his livestream camera floating smoothly beside him like a silent magical companion. The sunlight made his messy brown hair look a little golden, and he had a big, excited smile on his face.

"So chat… this is the city center," he said, gesturing around with both arms like he was proudly showing off his favorite secret garden. "If we want to open a restaurant, it has to be somewhere like this. Look at all these people! They're walking, talking, laughing, and most importantly — they're hungry!"

The viewer count kept climbing quickly as more people joined the stream, drawn in by the lively fantasy market atmosphere.

Just then, a middle-aged man wearing elegant merchant robes approached Lucas. His beard was neatly trimmed, and his sharp eyes gave the impression that he had already calculated the price of every building, stall, and glowing lantern on the entire street within seconds. He carried himself with calm confidence, like someone who had completed hundreds of successful deals and still enjoyed every single one.

He bowed slightly with respect.

"Young Master Lucas. I am Marcus, the merchant Lord Cedric mentioned."

Lucas smiled politely and gave a small wave.

"Nice to meet you, Mister Marcus. Thanks for coming so quickly."

Marcus gestured toward a street corner with a friendly smile.

"If you would follow me, Young Master, I believe I have the perfect location for your restaurant."

Lucas followed him excitedly while the livestream chat buzzed with curiosity and encouragement. They walked past colorful stalls selling sparkling jewelry, fragrant herbs tied in bundles, and little magic charms that sang soft musical tunes whenever the wind touched them.

Soon they arrived at a large two-story building standing proudly at the corner of the busy street.

The structure was made of strong stone and polished wood, with big, beautiful windows facing the main market road. Though it looked a bit old and dusty on the outside, the location was incredibly good.

Hundreds of people passed by the street every minute — nobles in fancy clothes, merchants carrying heavy bags, adventurers with swords on their backs, and regular families laughing together.

Marcus spread his arms proudly.

"This shop was recently put up for sale. It has one of the best positions in the entire district."

Lucas blinked, staring at the building with wide eyes.

"…This?"

He walked closer and peeked through one of the large windows, already imagining tables full of happy customers eating delicious food.

Marcus nodded calmly.

"Yes, Young Master. Prime location, plenty of space, and excellent visibility from both directions."

Lucas turned slowly, looking at the massive building again. He could already picture glowing signs, pretty lantern decorations, and the smell of amazing food drifting out into the street.

"…How much?" he asked, almost afraid of the answer.

Marcus replied in a steady, professional voice.

"Thirty thousand gold coins."

Lucas froze like someone had hit him with a cold water spell.

"…What?"

Marcus repeated calmly.

"Thirty thousand gold coins."

Lucas stared at him for a long second.

Then he trembled slightly, his salted-fish soul crying inside.

"W-What are you talking about?! That much money?!"

He clutched his chest dramatically like his heart was breaking.

"That's enough to buy a small castle… or a lifetime supply of honey cakes!"

The livestream chat exploded with laughter and shock.

Lucas rubbed his forehead in pain, groaning loudly.

"That's basically robbery with extra steps."

He looked at the building again with sad puppy eyes.

"But… it really is in the perfect spot."

"Prime location. Large space. Everyone who walks by will see it…"

Marcus coughed politely, trying not to smile.

"It is the fair market price for such a wonderful location, Young Master."

Lucas sighed deeply, his shoulders slumping like a defeated hero.

He stared at the building one more time, imagining the future restaurant with warm lights, happy customers, and coins flowing in.

Finally, he turned to the camera with a defeated but determined expression.

"…Chat."

"What do you think?"

The comments poured in immediately, fast and full of energy.

Lucas groaned dramatically again but smiled through it.

"…Fine."

"Fine!"

After several minutes of painful negotiation where Lucas grumbled and Marcus stayed calm and professional, the paperwork was finally completed.

Marcus handed him the shiny ownership document with a respectful bow.

"Congratulations, Young Master Lucas."

"You now own this property."

Lucas stared at the paper like it had personally betrayed him.

"…My money…"

he whispered sadly.

"It's gone."

"All those beautiful coins… poof."

The chat laughed even harder.

Lucas sighed dramatically one last time and turned toward the floating camera, trying to look positive again.

"Well chat… we have a building now."

"But now comes the hard part."

He pointed at the dusty interior visible through the windows.

"We need to turn this old dusty place into the best restaurant in the entire empire."

"Something warm, beautiful, and full of magic that makes people want to come back every day."

Lucas crossed his arms and thought for a moment, tapping his chin.

Then suddenly his eyes lit up like he had the best idea ever.

"Oh!"

He looked directly at the camera with excitement.

"Chat."

"If there are any designers watching… send me restaurant designs."

"Something that fits perfectly in a fantasy world."

"Make it look magical, welcoming, and eye-catching so people can't walk past without wanting to come inside."

The chat exploded with excitement, messages flooding in like a cheerful storm.

Lucas waited patiently, scrolling through the many designs that appeared on his system interface. He studied each one carefully, imagining how they would look in real life with glowing flowers and floating lights.

After some time, one design immediately caught his attention.

It showed a beautiful wooden structure with large open windows that let in plenty of sunlight, glowing lantern decorations hanging everywhere, and a magical signboard that would float gently above the entrance with sparkling letters.

Vines with tiny glowing flowers climbed the walls, and the whole place looked warm, elegant, and full of life.

Lucas smiled big and happy.

"…This one."

"This is perfect."

The chat approved instantly, sending hearts and thumbs-up.

Lucas clapped his hands happily, his earlier sadness about the money completely forgotten.

"Alright!"

"Now we just need someone to build it."

He turned and began walking down the busy street again, the camera following smoothly beside him.

"Next destination…"

He grinned wide at the viewers.

"The Craftsman Guild!"

The massive guild building soon appeared at the end of the street. It was a huge, impressive stone structure filled with the lively sounds of hammering metal, carving wood, and cheerful shouting. The air around it smelled of fresh wood, hot metal, and magic sparks drifting through the workshop halls.

Lucas pushed open the large wooden doors with both hands and stepped inside confidently.

Inside, dozens of craftsmen were hard at work — some forging weapons that glowed with runes, others carving beautiful furniture, and a few enchanting tools with soft colorful lights.

The whole hall felt alive and full of creative energy.

Lucas stepped forward, his voice clear and excited.

"I need a master builder!"

The entire hall slowly turned toward him, tools pausing mid-swing.

One massive dwarf with a thick fiery red beard, broad shoulders, and strong arms stepped forward.

He looked at Lucas with a gruff but curious expression.

"And what exactly do you want built, boy?" the dwarf asked in a deep, rumbling voice.

Lucas smiled brightly and unfolded the beautiful design he had chosen, holding it up for the dwarf and the whole livestream to see.
