The Pentagon.
Amid furious roars, countless people tried to put an end to this farce and stop the footage from spreading, but in the end, they could do nothing about the man on the screen.
The Triskelion.
Wakanda...
And even the entire world.
Hidden mutants excitedly straightened their backs, proud that their people had such a powerful leader.
Ordinary people frowned, beginning to worry about their own future circumstances.
Powerful elites smashed expensive vases in anger and began considering how to face the increasingly complicated conflict between species.
Some wept with joy.
Some cursed aloud.
Others watched coldly from the sidelines.
All living beings, each with a different face.
Magneto was destined not to see any of this.
But in a county town in New York State, a helmeted man had a complicated expression as he took it all in.
"This is humanity..."
A sigh.
"This is humanity!"
A roar.
Magneto stood atop the long sword. He raised his fist high and roared into the camera.
"My brothers and sisters, and all enemies who have racked your brains trying to deal with me, watch carefully!"
"Look closely at this scene!"
"Today was supposed to be the day you showed mutants your power. But now, I tell you this:"
"This is the destruction and devastation that I, and my people, can bring upon you with ease!"
"If anyone chooses us as their enemy, then I now issue this warning to the whole world. We will be the most qualified opponents you could ever have!"
Every impassioned word, every roar, rang beside countless ears.
On this day, everyone knew that a powerful man was standing atop Antarctica, raising his voice to the entire world.
"My kin, stand up!"
"Do not hide anymore. Do not suffer anymore. You have hidden in the shadows for far too long!"
"No one can drive us away. No one can harm us!"
"We need not bow our heads to anyone, much less grovel. We should have lived on this land with dignity from the very beginning!"
"Stand up, my brothers and sisters. Join me. Join the Brotherhood!"
"One day, we will personally win the respect of everyone!"
"A new tomorrow begins today!"
At that moment, the footage abruptly stopped.
The electromagnetic signal cut off, and screens across the world returned to normal.
It was as though nothing had happened.
And yet, it was also as though everything had changed.
That man's figure as he unleashed world-shaking power with a wave of his hand, the way he delivered his passionate speech, and those stirring words were all deeply branded into the hearts of countless people.
Some people spend their entire lives unable to create even a ripple in the world.
Others need only a few words to turn the world upside down.
The pause button that had been pressed upon the world was released at that moment. A crisis that should have swept across the globe came to an end in this manner.
The future had arrived, but it was no longer the future it had once been.
...
Inside the Antarctic base.
A ghostlike afterimage was rapidly sweeping through the facility.
The underground base covered hundreds of square kilometers, and its area was truly enormous. In order to completely avoid the risk of discovery, Bolivar had installed countless psychic shielding devices here.
So whenever Fenris arrived at a new area, the first thing he did was tear out these troublesome shielding devices one by one.
At this moment, everyone inside the base was looking up at Magneto's speech. For a while, not a single person noticed Fenris's infiltration.
A moment later, Fenris took out his communicator again.
"Professor, you can begin."
"All right."
Professor X's voice came through.
The next moment, a vast psychic fluctuation came from distant North America. In an instant, it crossed tens of thousands of kilometers and precisely enveloped the entire base.
Without the psychic shielding devices, Professor X's power expanded freely like a fish entering the sea. In the blink of an eye, the entire base had fallen completely under his control.
"Erik really is a natural-born orator."
Fenris walked through the base without the slightest restraint, while everyone inside turned a blind eye to him.
Looking at Magneto's completely different appearance on the screen from how he usually was, Fenris could not help clicking his tongue in wonder.
Elsewhere, under Professor X's control, everyone in the base stood up from their respective positions, formed into lines, and walked out of the base one after another.
The Blackbird had already taken off and would arrive in Antarctica before long. These people would naturally be handled by the X-Men.
"How is it, Professor?"
"Fenris, this is bad."
Just as Fenris thought everything was settled and the whole matter had completely come to an end, Professor X's voice suddenly sank.
"Do you remember the intelligence Nick Fury gave us earlier?"
"His guess was completely correct. Bolivar really did upload his consciousness into a computer. He is already a digital person now."
Professor X had lived for so many years, yet this was also the first time he had encountered such an existence. For a moment, even he sounded somewhat amazed. "I cannot control him, nor can I sense him. Inside this base, he exists like a god."
"In the deepest part of the base, there seems to be an extremely powerful weapon stored. Be careful."
Although Professor X now had an almost blind confidence in Fenris's combat ability, he still could not help reminding him. "But the only good news is that this place has been forcibly isolated from the outside world at the physical level."
"In other words, Bolivar has not fully entered the external network yet. So there is still time."
"Understood."
After hearing Professor X say that, Fenris immediately had a clear idea of the situation.
Following the guidance, he headed straight for the base core, the location where the main body of Bolivar's electronic life was stored.
At the same time, Fenris casually removed the watch from his wrist.
Not long ago, Tony had given Fenris a strong artificial intelligence and transferred the highest authority over it to him in front of Fenris.
Later, Fenris had named this artificial intelligence Titan, which had earned him a round of mockery from Tony.
"Titan?"
Very soon, Fenris arrived before the door where Bolivar was located.
As he watched the alloy door slowly open, his call fell, and a cartoon Godzilla image suddenly appeared on the watch.
"I'm here."
The little Godzilla stood up and gave Fenris an ugly-cute smile.
"Wake up. It's time to eat."
"Eat?"
Fenris looked into the depths of the laboratory. When he saw a massive robot twenty meters tall, his pupils constricted. In a single instant, he crossed several hundred meters and arrived in front of the central control console.
A thick mechanical arm was holding up an enormous screen. On the screen, Bolivar's image was displayed.
A progress bar was slowly advancing. It was already nearly ninety percent filled.
"You are Fenris?"
"How did you get in?"
"How could you possibly get in?"
Bolivar's mind was filled with hatred. His attention had been completely fixed on Magneto and the transfer of his consciousness, and he did not notice something was wrong until Fenris had already entered.
The moment he saw Fenris's face, Bolivar's heart turned cold.
Amid cries of disbelief, Fenris said nothing and directly connected Titan to the central control console.
"Bolivar is transferring his consciousness into this giant robot."
The next moment, Titan's voice rang out from Fenris's watch. "This robot embodies all of Bolivar's intelligence. He views it as a great killing machine surpassing the Sentinel robots."
"The supercomputing core built into it can fully carry his existence."
"Can you stop him?" Fenris asked.
"I can eat him, but I cannot stop the transfer in the short term."
After a brief pause, Titan gave its answer.
"That's fine. Eat as much as you want."
Fenris understood.
He took two steps back and looked up at the tall, powerful robot.
Its twenty-meter frame made it look incomparably majestic in Fenris's eyes. Even looking up, it was difficult to see its full form.
Its design was vastly different from the Sentinel robots. Its appearance did not look savage or grotesque, but it had an added sense of cold killing intent.
"Not a bad design. What a pity..."
Fenris shook his head. His hand swept behind his waist, and the small battle-axe in his palm rapidly enlarged.
"What are you doing?"
"Stop! Fenris, do you know what you're doing?!"
Fenris remained completely unmoved. He even found it somewhat funny.
Amid desperate cries, a brilliant blue light suddenly lit up.
Bang!
The sound of a massive weight hitting the ground rang out. An enormous mechanical head crashed heavily onto the floor.
