Chapter 224 - 224

"Laufey!"

Upon reaching the main battlefield, Thor, still following closely behind Fenris, raised his head. His gaze swept across the devastated ground and settled on the tall blue figure standing atop the staircase of ice.

"So that's Laufey, King of Jotunheim?"

Hearing this, Fenris narrowed his eyes. The two stared at each other across nearly a thousand meters.

Boom!

Fenris suddenly stepped forward. The weight of his footfall made the buildings ruined by the Frost Giants tremble faintly.

Thousands of Frost Giants who remained capable of fighting raised their heads and stared at the enormous beast looming nearby.

Fenris had taken only a single step, yet the moment his shadow fell over them, the overwhelming difference in size sent another wave of unrest through their ranks. The morale restored by Laufey's arrival immediately began to waver again.

Some warriors hunched their shoulders and retreated deeper into the crowd. Others lost all strength in their legs and collapsed to the ground, trembling uncontrollably as they stared up at Fenris.

The gods of Asgard and the Frost Giant army were separated by the trench Fenris's Atomic Breath had carved into the ground. Several meters deep, it stretched across the battlefield, while behind the Asgardians stood Odin's Temple—the very heart of Asgard.

That line divided the battlefield into two halves.

On one side lay devastated ruins. On the other stood a magnificent temple bathed in golden light.

Laufey stood in midair, his formidable presence bearing down upon the gods of Asgard. With no champion strong enough to oppose him, his bitter cold descended without restraint, making the Asgardians shiver uncontrollably.

"Is that Thor?"

Only now did someone finally notice the panting Thor standing beside Fenris's feet.

He looked nothing like the proud and spirited warrior they remembered. After his long and exhausting journey, his blond hair was plastered against his scalp, and he appeared utterly bedraggled.

Even so, Thor's arrival immediately stirred the Asgardian ranks.

"Did Thor bring that beast here to help us?"

"Whoever you are, please help us…"

The ability to transform was not especially rare throughout the universe. As they stared at the terrifying beast who had single-handedly routed Jotunheim's elite army, every god of Asgard silently prayed for his aid.

The enormous battlefield fell into an eerie silence.

No one spoke. Countless gazes converged upon the two figures staring at each other from across the battlefield.

"Is that all?"

Fenris sensed the aura emanating from Laufey and found that it was not much weaker than his own.

Then he watched as Laufey raised his thumb from afar…

And slowly turned it downward.

It was a blatant provocation.

The Frost Giants who had died moments ago apparently meant nothing to Laufey. Amusement gleamed in his crimson eyes as he stared directly at Fenris.

"This is bad!"

From beneath Fenris, Thor clearly saw a burst of scorching air erupt from his nostrils. The claws hanging naturally at his sides suddenly began flexing in a steady rhythm.

Despite Fenris's enormous body remaining otherwise motionless, Thor instinctively felt a chill crawl down his back and immediately began retreating.

Tension flooded the battlefield as a cataclysmic confrontation threatened to erupt at any moment.

Thor's gaze swept across the densely packed Frost Giants, crossed the trench melted by the Atomic Breath, and settled on the Asgardian forces in the distance.

"The gods need me!"

Thor tightened his grip on the battle blade he had taken from Jotunheim.

"ROAR!"

Without warning, an earth-shaking roar erupted.

The thunderous sound wave spread in every direction as the spines along Fenris's back began lighting up, starting from the tip of his tail and advancing upward.

Amid a deep humming sound, his gigantic body suddenly surged forward. His eyes blazed with brilliant blue light as they locked firmly onto Laufey.

Boom! Boom!

Despite his round belly and somewhat bulky appearance, Fenris was anything but slow.

With his terrifying weight and power, every step he took seemed to make the ground quake. Asgard's towering medieval buildings did not even reach his knees.

Gale-force winds accompanied his charge. His long tails swept from side to side, knocking down the surrounding buildings and sending them crashing to the ground with deafening groans.

The Frost Giants hurriedly cleared a path, terrified that the giant creature might accidentally crush them like ants.

Even so, many warriors were still caught in his wake.

With the Atomic Furnace operating at full power, Fenris constantly emitted terrifying levels of high-energy radiation. The waves of heat radiating from his body effortlessly melted those unfortunate enough to stand too close.

Thor did not dare waste a moment. Keeping his distance, he followed the broad path Fenris had forcibly opened through the Frost Giant army.

Countless Frost Giants saw Thor pass, yet not one dared step forward to stop him.

"This feels incredible!"

Thor looked from side to side at the countless hostile gazes surrounding him. The Frost Giants were eager to attack, yet Fenris's overwhelming might prevented any of them from approaching.

A sense of exhilaration unlike anything Thor had felt since his exile surged through him.

He raised the battle blade high, quickened his pace, and roared toward the forces ahead with wild joy written across his face.

"Gods of Asgard, prepare for battle!"

"Kill them!"

As Fenris accelerated and became a black blur charging toward the temple, the gods hurried out of his path, narrowly avoiding the overwhelming force of his advance.

"Go and support Prince Thor!"

The sight of Thor following close behind Fenris swept away their despair. Their fighting spirit surged as they turned their blades upon the remaining Frost Giants.

"Damn it!"

Standing upon his staircase of ice, Laufey looked down at the battlefield, his expression abruptly darkening.

Yet Fenris was rapidly closing in. The thousands of meters between them vanished in the blink of an eye.

The instant Godzilla's unique biomagnetic field enveloped Laufey, the powerful repulsive force made his chest tighten instinctively.

Unable to concern himself with anything else, Laufey glanced back at the great hall behind him. From this angle, he could clearly see Loki's mocking eyes through the ice imprisoning him.

"So this is your trump card?"

"Such a childish little princess."

Countless thoughts raced through Laufey's mind. He moved his foot, effortlessly shattering the floating ice beneath him into fragments that scattered through the air.

"Hah!"

With a short shout, an unending stream of cold erupted from Laufey's body.

At the same time, all the moisture in the surrounding air began rushing toward him, rapidly freezing under the extreme cold.

In the blink of an eye, a colossal ice giant more than seventy meters tall silently took shape, nearly twice Fenris's height.

Laufey's figure flickered, and he appeared atop the ice giant's head.

Amid a series of piercing creaks, a pair of crimson eyes suddenly opened upon the giant's face.

It now looked exactly like Laufey himself.
