CHAPTER 11- Welcome To GraveHall Academy Part 2
INFINYREX POV
"Okay normally this is the part where Pero and Ulbert most likely would have run. But maybe our culprit is here… hopefully…maybe… probably."
As Infinyrex walked down the stairs with the bookcase closing behind him. Startling him in the process.
Seeing no other way. He braved through the darkness. Being capable of hearing only his footsteps. As he trekked through the dark cave. He started feeling around hoping to not lose his balance. He found a torch stick. Picked it up and proceeded to use a small spell Ulbert taught him for starting a small amount of fire. Even a warrior class could pull it off. After one attempt. He got the torch to light up. He was finally able to see his surroundings.
"I know Ulbert said just for emergencies only but just in case there's something out here, I better take my disguise off."
Infinyrex removed the disguise the doppelganger ring gave him. And finally revealed his true form. Wearing the knight's armor similar to the one he had back in yggdrasil. This one was not as strong and was made by the npc's in NIM. it was an exact replica. His red cape with white puff at the neck gives him an air of royalty. This was the first time he had to take off his disguise anywhere, not at the bookshop.
Ready to go marching into the unknown. He lifted his sword up. Ready for any attack. Ready to show anything lurking in this cave that the only scary thing in this cave was him.
After a few minutes of wandering he reached a fork of caves.
'Shit! You've got to be kidding me!'. Pinching the bridge of what would've been his nose in frustration. Trying to figure out what to do next. 'Okay… eeny meeny miney—' just then he was interrupted by a loud moaning noise. It would've been quiet to anyone but with his senses. He might have heard a pin drop.
He approached the cave that made the noise. Keeping his sword ready in case it was a trap.
'Should I have brought back up?' he wondered.
He slowly walked in caution. And after taking a few steps deep into the maze of the cave. He found himself approaching two doors. Fancy looking to him. Big and tall. Red with golden lining. He smelled the steel and gold in them.
After looking at the doors from afar. Peeking behind a corner in the cave. He heard the door open and immediately he put his torch out as precaution.
He saw a young girl in a purple and black dress come out. He noticed her wings and assumed she was a demon. He saw as she walked off bringing her shadow demons with her.
He waited a while before deciding to approach. Before he did. He sensed a few more shadow demons guarding the door.
Infinyrex opened up his inventory and used a cash shop item that specializes in shadow demon erasure with just a flick of light burning them. It was in the shape of a talisman. He threw it like a card at the door and immediately the light flashed burning the shadow demons guarding the door out of existence.
Confirming it safe to do so. Rex approached the door. Checking his surroundings once more. He opened the door and found what appeared to be a bedroom.
'Huh… I don't know what the big hubbub was. Why guard an empty bedroom? It is nice though. Purple color. Nice interior design. A little dark though… maybe there's some candles nearby.'
As he thought this. He found a Menorah with candles. Using the same spell he used for the torch. He lit the candles.
'There! Much better. Now I get a proper look at this place. Oh wow! She's got silk sheets!? Looks imported too. I've never seen them in black and purple colors! Must be a rare find.'
Just as he was about to feel the sheets. He was startled by someone speaking.
"Who are you?" the voice said.
Rex replied with "Who goes there!? Show yourself."
"I'm on the bed and please keep your voice down."
Just as the stranger replied. Infinyrex looked down at the bed. Moved a few pillows around and was shocked to find a young blonde boy just resting there.
"Oh! Sorry did I wake you? My bad I know I'm not supposed to be in here, but I got a little lost. I promise I wasn't going to steal anything from you–a-are you alright?"
After seeing that the boy was not moving. He couldn't help but worry. After a moment of contemplation the boy looked up in tears and a face that said he was gonna break. He spoke.
"No… no I'm…I'm not alright. Truth is…I've been not alright for so long. I've been here in this room for who knows how long. I'm not allowed out nor can I move due to some spell. I don't know how long I've been in here. But it felt like an eternity. This room is all I know — there was a time. I remember that I was a knight for re-estize. My duty was protecting the princess. But I'm not sure anymore. I remembered I had friends— Lord Stronoff! Master Brain! And… lord Sebas! And lady Gagaran and her team!." The boy stopped for a moment in his sadness at the despair of remembering the past that hurt him. All Rex did was stand there listening in silence at the boy's pain.
After a bit of tears. The boy continued. "Why did everything have to fall apart?! Why did all my friends have to suffer like this?! Everyone else is dead but I'm the only one alive to carry their memory!... but at least I can still fulfill my duty to please the princess. Even if its for eternity."
In a confused tone Rex asked " By 'please' do you mean?" they both looked down at what would've been the boys mid section. "Oh god…I know a friend who would kill for your position."
After Rex's joke was made. The two laughed in shared harmony. Then the boy spoke.
"That… was the first time in a long time that I've shared a laugh with someone."
"Sounds like you could use a friend."
"A friend? Yes… a friend like Brain and Gasef. Would you be my–friend?"
"Sure. I don't mind— Oh! Almost forgot! How rude of me. The name's Infinyrex. But my friends call me Rex. Pleasure to meet you umm." wanting to know his name and the boy getting the hint he spoke.
"Climb. My name is Climb. And forgive me for my late introduction as well. The pleasures all mine. Please forgive my rudeness for speaking to you while laying down."
"It's fine. Considering your circumstances, I can scarcely blame you."
"This may sound a bit formal but—" Rex interrupted him.
"Please. We're friends now. You don't need to address me with such formality. Be as you wish."
"Very well then. Sir Rex. How long have I been here? How much time has passed in the outside world?"
"Hmm. well that depends. What do you last remember from the outside world?"
"I remember burning houses. Destroyed bridges and walls. I remember the sorcerer king… and how he destroyed the Kingdom. My home. Where my friends lived… the fall of Re-esitze." he finished with a mix of sadness and fury in his voice.
"Oh. I see… I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this Climb but… that was over 200 years ago. Maybe more. I just passed by your kingdom. And it was… there was nothing left. I'm— I'm sorry."
Climb with a look of defeat then with a smile.
"Figured as much. Thank you for finally putting the matter at ease. I'm very thankful to you."
" No problem." After a moment of silence. Climb spoke again. This time with a neutral expression and tone.
"Umm. Sir Rex? If its not too much trouble. May I ask an unreasonable request of you?"
"Huh? Well I guess it would depend on how unreasonable the request is. Do you want me to carry you out of here perhaps?"
"No. Nothing like that. I'm aware that we are now well acquainted. And that we share a knights bond seeing as you are a knight as well… My request to you is… Sir Rex. Can you kill me?"
"What?!"
"I know this is unfair for you but. I can't bear this life any longer! I learned a long time ago that the fall of the kingdom was also orchestrated by the princess herself. For so many years she fooled me into thinking that the sorcerer kingdom forced her into it and maybe he did. But I'm not sure. I can't bear not knowing! Being left in the dark for so long! I want to join my friends in death! I've tried choking on my tongue but the princess found ways to ensure I live. She made me an imp. Essentially giving me eternal lifespan. I couldn't die even if I wanted to. Please Sir Rex! I'm begging you! End my life right here and now! You'd be sparing me an eternity of suffering!"
'What's the right move here Rex? Shit why? But he's suffering. He needs this. The poor boy's been through a lot. Am I the bad guy if I kill him? Am I the good guy if I let him live? Am I the worst guy if I let this go on any longer? Am I the good guy if I kill him sparing him from more pain? What!? Argh! But then what's the right move? Why do I feel like I wouldn't mind killing him.'
"But don't you–". 'No, I can't just ask him if he has a lot to live for. That would be cruel. And I can't grab him. There's a spell keeping him here according to him and I can't afford to sound off any alarms. Fuck! I guess I'm really doing this. Why me? Why not Pero or Ulbert? They wouldn't bat an eye.'
"Very well Climb. I shall do as requested. I want you to know that in the short moment we spent together. I consider you a person of great character. I will not forget you."
"Thank you for your kind words Sir Rex. though I doubt my memory will be important to you so I ask that you forget me. Thank you for thinking that though. And I'm sorry again for asking you to do this. I'm glad that I met you and that I was killed by a true friend rather than an enemy."
Infinyrex put the candles down and lifted his sword. Ready and aiming at Climb.
"Wait!" climb said.
"Having second thoughts?"
"No. Rather a sword won't be enough to kill me. Even if I die by your hand. The sorcerer king will just resurrect me again. If you are to kill me. Make sure there's nothing left of me to resurrect."
After some thinking. Rex looked around the room and stared at the candles. And lifted them.
"Will this do?"
"Yes. That'll do perfectly."
Rex then lifted his sword. While Climb closed his eyes, waiting for the finishing blow that would relieve him of his torment. The sword was raised and lowered quickly. Delivering the strike that bloodied the room.
Feeling he had done his part. Rex looked over to the once living boy and saw that his skin started to age rapidly being free from his curse. Having done this. He set on to phase 2. To drop the candles on the bed and watch the flame take the boy's body away from this nightmare.
'Climb… may you find the peace you sought for in the next life, that you couldn't find in this one.'
Saying this he paid his respects to the dead among the flame and left the room.

ULBERT'S POV
Roaming the halls were the students were rushing to get to their next class. There was Ulbert in his human disguise, trying to think up any ideas on locating the culprit.
'Hmm where would I be if I was a talented eavesdropping sack of shit? Perhaps I'd be surrounded by a large group for protection. No, that doesn't even sound right. Didn't work out for me back in the old world. Maybe I should consult a counselor here. If anyone knows about the activities going on around this school. The headmaster might have some clue.'
With this in mind. He asked around and made his way to the headmasters office. Ulbert came across the secretary, who was a young brown haired girl around her 20's. She asked if he had an appointment. Ulbert replied that he did not. She informed him that seeing the headmaster was by appointment only.
Ulbert, feeling his time being wasted proceeded to use the spell {dominate} to take over her mind and successfully worked. Allowing her to grant him permission to see the headmaster. She opened the door for him and from there, Ulbert met with fluder paradyne.
There in the elegant office. Stood the grand mage and overseer of the school of magic. Looking in confusion at the man standing before him.
"Good afternoon, Headmaster… I trust the day has unfolded to your satisfaction. Do forgive the intrusion — I would regret disturbing anything… delicate." Ulbert said with a cheerful yet prominent tone.
"Greetings. Have we met before? Forgive me if we have or if our last encounter was brief. My schedule's been all over the place lately."
"Ah… how negligent of me. One must never allow anticipation to eclipse propriety. You may address me as Sir Hades. The pleasure, I assure you, is entirely mine. Though we have not yet had the indulgence of a formal meeting. I find such moments… ripe with possibility. Consider this a most fortuitous occasion to correct that absence." Ulbert said with a bow.
Fluder looked at him a bit confused by the man in front of him. Then asked. "Are you perhaps a parent of one of the gifted youngsters of this school? Or perhaps you wish to enroll your child here?"
"Unfortunately, no."
"Ah… then perhaps you were a former alumni of this school?"
"Certainly not. Though I confess… the prospect of having studied under your guidance would have been a singular privilege. An education I imagine I would have savored with great enthusiasm. Alas, fate has not afforded us that particular arrangement… much to my quiet disappointment."
"Very well then Sir Hades. To what do I owe the pleasure of making the acquaintance of a stranger?"
The two proceeded to take a seat in the middle of the room. With fluder on one side and Ulbert on the other.
"Right. I'll get to the point. I am a noble from the far eastern territories and recently I've sought out to increase the security of my estate. With that in mind. I'm looking for all sorts of magic items and spells that specialize in that. I've recently heard that you had a talented student in the field of scrying magic and wanted to offer a proposal for the youngster's bright mind. I'm sure they'll find the offer appealing.
"Hmm… This is the first time I'm hearing this. I'm not sure we have any students adept in scrying magic. It is a very high tier you see. I would have known if a student here was using it. Are you sure the information you've received is correct?"
'Shit! I should've known. Scrying is a high tier that humans or demi humans can't unlock. It would also require magic items to accomplish this. I'm so stupid! Why didn't I investigate this in my free time? This person must've used the spell in secret. No one would know about it otherwise. We're dealing with an intelligent foe. I must be careful not to step on any landmines here'. Ulbert thought as he began to speak once more.
"Oh! Then perhaps an instructor?"
"No. Many of the instructors here can barely cast third tier magic. Embarrassing, I know. But they were bright enough to create magical items."
'This isn't good. If I keep prying. Eventually he'll see me as suspicious and I don't get the feeling that he's lying to me. Maybe he doesn't know who this culprit is. Dammit! This makes things a lot harder.'
"I overheard the information from a bragging parent during my visit to one of the neighboring countries. Said that their child could use scrying magic. A rare skill so I sought it out hoping to find the child here. It seems I was too hopeful."
"Interesting… I could try to use my influence to find the child and send out an invitation. Should they accept? I can contact you to let you know."
"I would very much like that. Thank you for your cooperation headmaster Paradyne."
The two men shook hands acknowledging the friendly terms of the matter.
'Well… not what I was hoping for but I should leave knowing that staying here any longer won't do me much good.'
Just as Ulbert was heading for the door to see himself out. The next words that came out of the headmaster's mouth shocked him.
{mass hold species}
With this. Ulbert was held with his arms to his body with a bright line of light containing him. Keeping him restrained and unable to move.
"I feel a strange dark aura emanating from you. Your clever disguise may hide your appearance and your mana. But it doesn't stop your dark aura from leaking through. What are you?" Fluder asked with a menacing stare and a palm filled with blue fire ready to attack.
'So… the old man has some moves huh? Maybe I can use this to my advantage. This hold species bit can't contain me and your fire spell is easily nullified. Might as well make him think he's in charge. Maybe he's hiding something.'
"What do you want to know?"
"Who or what are you and why are you really here?" asked fluder.
"I told you. My name is hades–"
"Lies! Who are you really?!"
"Trust me you don't wanna know."
"Tell me! Or the torturers in Nazarick will!"
Ulbert just stared at the old man with a stern face.
"Fine. I'll tell you. But only if you reveal what you know about someone in this school using scrying magic."
"I meant what I said. I don't know anyone in this school who uses scrying magic, much less a spell that requires one to be a 8th tier in order to accomplish it."
"I see. Then it appears I've wasted both my time and yours. Do forgive me for this headmaster." Ulbert said as he broke free from the spell holding him with ease. He waved his hand and the fire in Fluder's hand went out. "Now if you'll excuse me. I must take my leave." he said as he took one last bow. Leaving Fluder baffled at how he managed to break free and nullify his magic.
"H-how… how did you do that?!"
Before Ulbert could leave the room. Fluder rushed over and grabbed his forearm, stopping him from leaving.
"Please tell me how you did that! Are you a being from the abyss?! Only his majesty could have accomplished such a feat! What are you?!"
"I say. Unhand me." Ulbert replied with a terrifying stillness.
"You must tell me how you accomplished that?! Only beings from Nazarick could have accomplished what you did! But I've never seen you before! So what are you?! I must know!"
Ulbert just stayed quiet. Growing irritated at the situation and that he had wasted too much time here. He pulled his arm away, breaking loose from Fluder's grip. Proceeding to make his exit.
But just when he tried. The locks on the door activated and magic runes appeared on the frame of the door. Ulbert used {detection magic} to see what the spells on the runes consisted of and appeared to be a spell that nullified most elemental magic.
He turned around to see Fluder behind his desk having activated some sort of mechanism for the doors.
"This won't hold me you know." Ulbert replied. Growing more frustrated with the old wizard but never losing his terrifying calm.
"I am aware of that. That door can only contain beings of the 4th tier. But if you're so confident that it is useless against you. Then you must be of the 5th tier! Or maybe beyond that! But the only beings of that caliber are from the sacred lands of Nazarick! Yet…I've never seen you there before. Which means you exist outside the bounds of Nazarick. Am I perhaps speaking to a divine being or a sacred creation of one? Either way you're not leaving here until you answer."
'This guy just keeps poking and poking. He's really not gonna let this go. If he keeps this up. He'll eventually expose us. Can't have that. Should I kill him? no… rather I believe 'control amnesia' should do the job quite nicely. He's a political figure after all. Can't risk it with him if it gets us unwanted attention.' Ulbert thought as he stared at his opponent and walked over to him.
While this was happening. Fluder's thoughts also began to run.
'What is he?! I can't tell what tier he is. The only thing slipping out is his aura of darkness. He can't fool me with his disguise. He was able to break through the spell his majesty taught me which took years to learn. On top of that. Was able to cancel out my fire magic. What is he!? I must know! He can break through that rune door I'm sure of it! If he's a nazarick. Why doesn't he just admit it?! The world has been explored for the most part. So perhaps we have a new visitor?'
As he was thinking this. The unknown man in front of him was approaching closer and closer and closer. Fluder kept his guard up and his hands summoned circles of magic spells ready to be unleashed for combat. But his mysterious guest, didn't flinch. Didn't care. And didn't change his approach. This was making Fluder very uneasy. Making him break a sweat as if he heavily underestimated the foe in front of him.
Fluder could feel the aura of darkness from the stranger grow and grow the closer he approached him. He could hear his heart pounding. Fear overtook him as his magic began to dissipate due to his lack of confidence in controlling the situation he was in.
The stranger then spoke with a terrifyingly deep, booming voice.
"I told you you didn't want to know. Don't say I didn't warn you."
As he said this. The stranger began to remove his ring. And when he did. His appearance changed.
Fluder couldn't see his true image but had his detection magic on to rate his opponents power. But what he saw was an explosion of magic power. And red eyes staring at him with fury.
'What! Is this?!... this power!... I've never seen anything like it!- it surpasses anything I've ever seen! NO! It surpasses his majesty himself! He must be the embodiment of the abyss of magic itself!! This is impossible! Is he a god like his majesty!?! Argh! My eyes can't handle such divinity!'
Ulbert in his demon form just looked at Fluder. By this time. Fluder was overwhelmed by the magic power surrounding Ulbert and had collapsed on the floor. Shaking profoundly. Screaming things about 'the abyss'.
Looking down. Ulbert was shocked at what he saw. The old man's eyes were nothing but white. No pupils. No eye color. Just white. He could decipher that he had gone blind from the immensity of his omega level mp. Fluder was uttering other things but mostly gibberish.
'Seems the human mind has no immunity to omega level aura. That goes the same for the eyes as well. Guess Nigredo was able to survive due to her high tier in magic. With his mind all screwed up. I doubt I'll have to use 'control amnesia' on him.'
"My apologies, headmaster. I did not mean to bestow this burden upon you. But you left me no choice." Saying this, he immediately moved on Fluder, who was laying on the floor shaking wildly. And used the spell {paralysis} to get him to be quiet for a while.
Knowing he unintentionally did irreparable damage to the headmaster's mind.
Fluder just laid on the floor. Quiet. With blank eyes and an agape mouth with saliva leaking out. Tears left his eyes.
Ulbert examined the office. Checked behind the desk. Found the button used to lock him in. Pressed it again to remove the lock.
Looking at the headmaster. He patted the body for anything useful and found a key tied around his neck. In a state of rush. He took it.
Ulbert used detection magic around the room. Found an empty space behind the bookshelf. He began moving books around until he finally triggered one that opened to a cave behind it.
Curiosity got the better of him. He knew the key had to be to something valuable. Perhaps the culprit he was looking for if not the scrying device. With this. He took to the caves. Ready to brave the danger.
Ulbert then left the room. Closing the bookshelf behind him. Leaving the poor headmaster in a state of limbo.

INFINYREX'S POV
'Jeez these tunnels go on forever.' Rex stated as he continued trekking through the dark cave with sword in hand.
After a while of wandering. He encountered a bigger door with locks on them.
'Okay… someone is definitely hiding something in there.'
After thinking it through. He decided to just look around. As long as he can get the lock open.
After some examining. He thought.
'Maybe I should try lock picking. Dumbass! I don't know anything about lock picking. You arrested lock pickers! Maybe I should've asked for their advice. Oh! Wait!'
An idea came to mind. Rex was by far the strongest. He decided a punch would do the trick.
With a strong stance and a ready fist. He punched the door as hard as he could. Managing to break the first spell blocking it.
Ready for the second round. He punched again. Leaving a crack on the lock. He was holding back and he knew it.
Ready for strike three. He aimed and was interrupted halfway.
"What the hell are you doing!?!" The voice called out.
Rex turned around and saw his friend yelling behind him.
"Ulbert? What are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the same thing? But first. Why are you punching that door like a goddamned maniac?"
"I'm thinking maybe our culprit is behind this door."
"Even if that was the case. You would have startled him with that incessant noise. I could hear you for miles!"
"Whatever! Like you've got something better."
"Not sure but I might" Ulbert said holding the key he took from the headmaster. Presenting it to Rex.
"Oh. Where'd you get that?"
"It's better you don't know. Also why are you in your true form?"
"Precaution. You?"
"Warning."
Saying this. He used the key and successfully opened the lock. Swinging the doors open. The two stayed on guard.
In it was just a room sealed with adamantite metal covering the walls. And at the center of the room was a chest.
"The fuck?" Ulbert replied.
"What am I looking at?"
The two proceeded to open the chest. Hoping it contained what they were looking for. Ulbert used magic to open it. When they did.
The two were disappointed.
"What the fuck?! Why have an underground vault just to protect a bathrobe?" Ulbert asked in confusion.
"Oh wow! It's made from silk and the design on it is badass. It's a golden dragon. Kind of small but elegant all the same. My wife would love this."
"The design does look cool. But still. Why would that mage keep bathing equipment locked up tight?"
"You know how wizards are and their robes."
"I suppose that answer will have to do for now. Let's just get out of here. We've wasted enough time."
"The entrance where I came from is pretty far."
"Mine isn't. Let's go."
Having said that. The two left the vault. Headed for Ulberts entrance and left the dark catacombs.

PERORORONCINO'S POV
Somewhere in the girls' fraternity house. A girl's moans could be heard in one of the dorms. A line of eager girls awaited outside the dorm.
Inside the dorm. The man and woman finished their moment of passion.
"Ha…ha…ha my god that was amazing. I knew an experienced man would do better than the choir boys and jocks this school had to offer. ha…ha. " the girl said while sounding exasperated and out of breath.
"Yeah, well I could've told you that. Are yall really that celibate in this place?" replied Pero.
"You have no idea! All the instructors force these rules hoping we'd obey. And then don't get me started on the eager students who want to get on their good side by being a 'model student' and snitching on everyone. I really needed this.!"
"I could tell. You're tighter than a nun's dating schedule. Haha."
"Hahaha. Wow you're funny."
"I can be funnier if you want sister sin." Pero said with a smirk.
"Honestly with all the pent up stress. I REALLY needed this. Parents being uptight nobles and all"
'Oh god! Here we go. She's gonna start talking and talking. This is why I don't call back after the second date.'
"My stupid roommate. She's unbelievably annoying. Focusing on her ancestral scrying bullshit. The instructors–."
'Wait! Scrying bullshit? Could this be?'
"Sorry .Never mind, I must be boring you baby. Here let me make it all better? Wanna blowie mister? I tend to practice with a banana during free period–"
"Hang on. Did you say 'scrying magic'? That's a very high tier even for us humans dont'cha think?"
"I guess it's alright. Madeline was working on the items before I left the dorm. But as soon as I came back! She left a hell of a mess! Burn marks on the floor! Can you believe that bitch?! I only put up with her because she helps with my homework."
"Ah… well I actually know a guy who fixes floors. Maybe I can send him your way."
"If he's as good at 'helping' as you are right now. I don't mind. However the school deals with such repairs."
"I see… what a shame."
"Now how about that blowie baby. I promise I won't leave you here unsatisfied." she said while covering up her chest and sliding closer to Pero.
"Actually I have to be somewhere. You do recall that an hour's already passed"
"Aww what…poo. Come on pleeeease? Just until the next girl atleast?"
"Sorry babe. I did tell you this beforehand, remember?"
"Alright. Will we see you around these parts again? Or is that hopeful thinking?"
"Eh… if I have business here again then sure."
"You never told us which instructor was your ex wife. If it's that bitch from alchemy. I'd sure love to gloat about it whenever she gives me a failing grade."
"The mystery's half the fun." Pero replied while putting his clothes back on and proceeding to the door. Leaving the girls outside disappointed for not having enough time to share a moment with them.
'Sorry ladies. But I have a job to do'
As he walked to a group of nerds. He knew full well that geeks and nerds would have knowledge of all girls in the school. So he proceeded to ask them.
"Hey fellas! I've got three gold coins for whoever can tell me where I can find a 'madeline'."
The nerds discussed amongst themselves. And the leader spoke.
"We know one Madeline over at the eastwing in dorm 200. She has a hot roommate."
"Perfect! Here you go fellas. You've earned it." Pero said when he tossed the coins to the group who happily accepted it and walked away to the meeting spot his friends discussed.
Once there. He saw his two friends just arriving.
**************************************************************************
"You find anything before I showed up?"Ulbert asked Infinyrex.
"No. you?"
"No. What'd you end up doing the entire time?"
"Don't want to talk about it. What did you end up doing?"
"...Don't want to talk about it."
Just then. The two were interrupted by their eager friend who just smiled and waved as he approached them.
"Hey guys! Oh boy. You two look like shit. What happened?" Pero asked.
The two just looked at each other and just said nothing.
"It's nothing, did you find anything? Or did you just spend it scoring fraternity skanks?" Ulbert replied.
"Yeah! I found something for your ass! Goat boy! And it was while scoring a fraternity skank. Our culprit is some dumb kid over at the eastwing in dorm 200. According to the skank. Her class will be over in a few minutes. We should beat her to her dorm if we want a chance to get her."
Surprised by their comrade's results. They allowed him to lead the way.
Though it took a moment. They made it to the east wing. Their shadows resting at the front door of their culprit's room. They knocked without getting a response.
Figuring she had not yet arrived. They began to take their places.
*************************************
IN THE EASTWING HALLWAY
The young girl Madeline just finished her class and was heading towards her dorm. Unaware of the trouble that would soon befall her.
'Ugh… can't believe she told on me to the counselors. It was just an experiment! But anyway. What was that? Who were those guys in the mirror? They clearly saw me. But no one should be able to detect scrying magic. Oh well. I'll probably never see them again.'
Just as she opened the door. She found her window had been open. Believing it to have been the work of her roommate. She walked to the window at the other side of the dorm and closed it shut.
Just as she looked down. She saw three strangely shaped shadows appear. She turned around quickly on instinct. And with wide eyes. Saw three tall figures.
'What the hell?! What are these things?!'
"Aaah!" She screamed.
The goat being spoke. "Ah screams of terror. Unfortunately they won't save you as we have set up a barrier around your quarters to prevent sound from leaking through."
"What are you?! Go away!"
Soon after the avian- being followed in speaking. "Why so surprised? Weren't you expecting us? Considering how you've been watching us without our permission."
The realization hit Madeline hard. She found it hard to believe that the three men she gazed upon in the mirror. Were the monsters standing before her.
"NO! You can't be!" Her heart was pounding. Her hands were shaking. The immense aura she felt from the beings overwhelmed her senses.
"Pray, do set your mind at ease, my dear. We shall be… expeditious. I would loathe to trespass upon your time any longer than necessity demands — such a rare and delicate commodity ought never be squandered." The goat-like creature said to her.
"Please! Please! It was a mistake! Please go away!" Fear and panic took over her as she fell back and bumped onto her drawers. The terrifying monsters looked at her with a gaze of hatred and killing intent.
"Shh… there now. You are quite safe. Look at me."
Saying this. The goat creature. Moved closer and closer. His aura growing more intense as the room darkened and Madeline could no longer see the light in the room. He grabbed her chin. Moving her head to look into his eyes. And with one blink. His eyes turned red. An abysmal vortex of flame could be seen. {sinners gaze}.
Through this abyss. Madeline saw endless visions of suffering. Deaths repeated a million times. On the outside. Her eyes turned red as well. As a black swirl could be seen now replacing her pupils. Her mind had gone. Her body could not be controlled. She could no longer form words as her mind became her prison.
"And with that. We are done! She's not dead but she isn't alive either. I know the plan was to kill her. But will this suffice Rex?"
"I suppose it'll have to do. Let's just get out of here. This place is weird enough as it is."
"Couldn't agree with you more."
The trio searched the dorm. Found the scrying mirror. Destroyed it. And left the room. Making their way to the school's exit.
Upon exiting. The trio encountered a painting of what was believed to be a young obese boy.
"Oh…this must have been the student of the year or something." Rex said.
"That haircut was definitely something. Haha he looks like the ugliest girl I've ever seen!" Pero replied.
"Actually it seems this school was built in his honor. Let's see… Zanac Valleon Igana Ryle Vailself. It appears he was a prince of re'estize."
"How'd you know that?" Pero asked.
Ulbert just pointed at the plaque underneath the painting.
"Oh."
"He was honorably mentioned in the brochure as well. Let's see here. Ah yes. According to history. He was pragmatic. Selfless. And demonstrated courageous leadership to the end. Qualities that were not evident at the time because of the corruption of his peers."
"It seems history remembers him quite fondly. When re estize succumbed to food problems and despair during the war in the katze plains. He quickly boosted the people's morality and solved the issue in due haste with barely any assistance. He even gained the respect of Monga… Interesting." Ulbert finished.
"Well a friend of a friend is a friend of mine! Welcome to Ainz ooal gown, prince Zanac!" Pero stated.
Ulbert continued."According to this. He met a tragic end at the hands of the traitorous nobles he tried to protect. How poetic."
"That's the worst way to go. Did they say anything about this other guy?" Rex asked. Pointing to the painting next to Zanac's.
"Okay… umm yes. He was the minister of military affairs. It seems that although their time together was brief. He was a loyal noble to the prince to the end. When the nobles attempted to kill the prince. This noble stood by his side. Hand in sword. To protect the prince. Unfortunately he too met his end. The world back then must've not been as kind as it is now."
"Dang. Respect! Dude was a ride and die homie!" Pero replied.
"That. Must be what a true knight is like." Rex said melancholically.
"The prince had a few unnamed accomplishments in the past that were never commended at the time but it seems he was a capable young man through and through. He couldn't become king because of his father's indecisiveness. Shame. He had quite the impressive resume."
Staring at the paintings a bit longer. The trio stared in admiration at the belief that there were good leaders in this world that never had a chance to prove it. Knowing what their old world was like. They commended and respected worthy leaders that defied greed.
Having seen enough. The trio left the hall. Heading towards the school exit.
Walked the ruins once more. Knowing the history that befell this kingdom and what it was like before. Feeling the weight of it.
Ready to go home. They bought their ticket to the next dragon flight back to the sorcerer kingdom. Boarded their flight.
"Oh hey. What'd you guys end up doing before I showed up?" Pero asked.
"We just ran around. Oh! Before I forget. Here you want this?" Rex asked. Pulling the artifact he grabbed from the vault.
"A bathrobe?"
"Yeah. We found it somewhere. Can't find a use for it. I thought about giving it to Unity. But gold and white isn't her color. If you don't want it. I'll just sell it at a thrift shop or something."
"I'll take it… oooh silk. You must've robbed someone rich to get this. I'll wear it at the sauna back home."
Unknown to them. What they had in their hands was a world item known as 'downfall of castle and country' a powerful artifact used to control powerful beings.
Before more could be said. Ulbert was lying on his chair ready to fall asleep. But was interrupted by a call from one of his friends.
(Message) "Ulbert?! You there?!"
"Yes. Garnet. Did you need something?"
"Well… I know y'all are busy but… we have a problem."
