Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The Unspoken Vows and a Rainy Kiss

The Engineering faculty was buzzing with the news of the upcoming 'Star and Moon' competition. While the other freshmen were practicing their talents, our three couples were caught in their own worlds. For the first time, the cold atmosphere of the university felt warm with the scent of budding romance.

In the quiet corner of the library, Gao and James were supposed to be studying. James, however, was busy doodling on Gao's expensive notebook.

"Gao, look! I drew a sun and a moon. That's us!" James chirped, showing the drawing to Gao.

Gao stopped reading his engineering manual. He looked at the drawing, then at James's bright, sparkling eyes. For a boy who rarely spoke, Gao's gaze was loud. He reached out and tucked a stray hair behind James's ear.

"You're the sun, James," Gao said, his voice a low vibration. "I'm just the planet that orbits around you."

James blushed, the red creeping up to his ears. "Aww, Gao! Since when did you become so poetic? Is it because I bought you that strawberry milk today?"

Gao didn't answer. Instead, he took James's hand under the table, his thumb tracing circles on James's palm. "I don't need milk. I just need you to stay where I can see you."

James leaned his head on Gao's shoulder, finally quiet. In that silence, Gao felt a peace he had never known. He had all the wealth in the world, but James was the only treasure he truly owned. Their 'Screen Time' was filled with this silent, powerful devotion that didn't need words.

Meanwhile, in the locker room, Sky and Kao were at it again. The 'Family Dinner' from last night had only added fuel to the fire.

"Hey, Future Brother! You forgot your gym towel," Sky teased, snapping the towel near Kao's arm.

"Stop calling me that, Sky! My mom hasn't married your dad yet!" Kao yelled, trying to snatch the towel back.

Sky trapped Kao against the lockers, his smirk widening. "But she will. And then, we'll be sharing a lot more than just a dinner table. Maybe even a room?"

Kao's heart was racing, but he refused to back down. He grabbed Sky's tie and pulled him closer until their noses were almost touching. "In your dreams, Sky. I'd rather sleep in the Engineering lake than share a room with a jerk like you."

Sky's eyes darkened with a mix of irritation and attraction. "You're feisty, Kao. I like that. Let's see how long you can keep this act up." He winked and walked away, leaving a frustrated and very confused Kao behind.

As the sun began to set, another storm started to brew—this time, a gentle one. Wave was sitting on a bench near the university fountain, his ankle much better but still bandaged. Pete walked up to him, holding two cups of cocoa.

"You should be in your room, Wave," Pete said, sitting down next to him.

"I wanted to see the rain coming," Wave replied softly. "Rain brought us together twice, P'Pete. I feel like it's our lucky charm."

As if on cue, a light drizzle began to fall. Pete looked at Wave—his messy hair, his obsidian eyes, and the white thread on his wrist. The guilt he had been carrying for ten years finally felt light. He realized he didn't want to be a 'Head Hazer' to Wave. He just wanted to be the boy who protected him.

"Wave," Pete whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I've spent ten years trying to forget you, and two weeks trying to ignore you. But the truth is... I can't breathe if you're not near me."

Wave's breath hitched. "P'Pete..."

Pete leaned in, his hand cupping Wave's cheek. The rain was getting heavier now, blurring the world around them until there was only the two of them. "I'm not going to let you go again. Not this time. Not ever."

Before Wave could respond, Pete closed the distance. Their lips met in a soft, hesitant kiss that tasted like rain and cocoa. It was a confession without words—a promise made under the grey sky. Wave's hands found Pete's shirt, gripping it tightly as he kissed him back, pouring all those years of waiting into that single moment.

The 'Star and Moon' of the faculty had finally aligned. From the shadows, Gao watched them, a small smile on his face, while James cheered silently behind a tree. Even Sky and Kao, who were hiding under an umbrella nearby, stopped bickering for a second to witness the magic.

Episode 10 was the end of the beginning. The secrets were out, the hearts were open, and the Engineering faculty would never be the same again.
