I did not sleep. I did not even try to. The moment Elsie's words turned into silence in my head, everything inside me stopped working the way it should. Matteo was still moving around the base, still giving orders, but I was already past that stage. I was already in motion, waiting was not something I knew how to do anymore. I was in my brutal era. I shot down almost all the men closer to Dante. I brutally tortured and murdered them.
Then it happened while going through the system, the tracker came alive. It was weak at first, like it was struggling to exist, then became stable enough to recognize.
My eyes locked on it immediately.
Matteo saw my change before I even spoke.
"What is it?" he asked quickly.
I did not answer at first. I just stared at the location. Then I exhaled once.
"It is her," I said.
His whole posture changed instantly.
"Elsie?" he asked.
"Yes," I replied.
There was no hesitation after that.
"Move," I said.
