Chapter 4 - My mom . . .

Got it—you want this moment to hit harder. More shock, more emotion, more intensity. I'll sharpen the pacing, deepen the feeling, and make Kyoren's reaction feel raw and unforgettable:

Its body twisted like it didn't belong in this world.

Limbs bent the wrong way. Its skin—if it even was skin—rippled like something was alive beneath it. And its eyes…

They weren't just glowing.

They were watching.

Not like an animal.

Not like a monster.

Like it understood.

And then—

I saw it.

In its jaws…

was my mother.

Time stopped.

Not slowed.

Stopped.

The sound of machines… gone.The shouting… gone.Even my own breathing… gone.

All I could see—

was her.

Her arm hung limp.Her hair—covered in dust.Her eyes… half-open.

Not looking at me.

Not seeing me.

Something inside my chest—

cracked.

"No…"

It came out as a whisper.

Small.

Broken.

Like I was already too late.

Then it grew.

"NO—"

And then it shattered into a scream.

"NOOOOO!!!"

It ripped out of me so violently it hurt. My throat burned, my lungs felt like they were tearing apart—but I didn't stop.

I couldn't.

I wouldn't.

My bag slipped from my shoulder.

I didn't even feel it fall.

Nothing mattered.

Not the people. Not the danger. Not even the monster.

Just her.

I ran.

Every step slammed against the floor like my body was trying to break itself apart just to reach her faster.

No thoughts.

No fear.

Just one thing—

Get her back.

I reached it.

I didn't hesitate.

I didn't think.

I just swung.

My fist crashed into its body—

—and for a split second, I thought I'd just broken my hand.

But then—

Something else happened.

Something wrong.

The monster didn't just move.

It flew.

Like it had been struck by something far beyond human.

Its massive body slammed through the corridor, tearing metal, cracking walls, sending debris exploding in every direction.

The entire building trembled.

I stood there.

Frozen.

My arm still outstretched.

My hand shaking.

What… was that?

That wasn't normal.

That wasn't me.

But none of that mattered.

Not when—

she was still in its mouth.

I ran again.

Faster.

Harder.

Like if I slowed down for even a second, she'd disappear forever.

My vision blurred.

My chest screamed.

But I kept going—

And then—

Hands grabbed me.

From behind.

Tight.

Too tight.

"Let go of me!!" I roared, thrashing violently. "LET ME GO!!"

Doctors.

Nurses.

Their voices overlapped, shouting things I couldn't understand.

Their hands pulled me back—

away from her.

"No—no—NO!!"

I fought harder, my nails digging into their arms, my body twisting, breaking, trying to escape.

"I have to go! I HAVE TO—!"

I looked up.

And I saw it again.

The monster… rising.

Still holding her.

Still taking her away.

Something inside me broke completely.

Not cracked.

Not shaken.

Broken.

"NOOO!!!"

My voice shattered.

"NO! NO! NO!!"

Tears blurred everything, but I didn't care. I could barely see anymore, but I kept fighting, kept screaming—

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
