Chapter 44 - || CHAPTER 44:An Incomplete Psycho! ||

Lucan muttered "Finally, after countless disasters, I have reached the lifespan-increasing location!".

He let the golden butterfly rest, and fate guy to be sealed.

Then he flew the spaceship down; the surface was barren, with literally nothing.

The doors opened, white smoke gushed out as Lucan walked out of the spaceship.

He used cosmic energy to verify the location; it was still not a safe environment, as there is no oxygen here, just as he had predicted.

He had to maintain his armor.

Fate guy was over his shoulders; he only had a little lifespan left, as he had previously used it on Lord's planet to help Lucan deduce.

He is the only ally of Lucan currently; he even has some mysteries and worth, so Lucan won't let him die that easily.

He sighed, "If only fate guy had a strong will like me, he wouldn't have been under the control of that org 1000".

But now nothing could be done; only if fate guy itself resists the control over him will he get freed.

Otherwise, even if Lucan used the crystal of betrayal or golden butterfly, nothing would be achieved.

He walked farther and farther, but everything was barren. Lucan stopped as he thought, "Hmm! Maybe I am circling the same area again and again?".

But when he verified it, it was not the cause; he was actually walking on the right path, without any deviation.

Lucan continued forward, relentlessly walking.

1 hour passed...

5 hours passed...

Eventually, 10 hours had passed...

Lucan stopped to catch some breath; he needed to breathe oxygen through his armor, yet he was still calm and tranquil.

He took out the crystal of betrayal. The crystals possess unimaginable levels of power, which were kept in mystery for almost everybody,

Excluding the organization and the other unknown player.

He activated it and started to deduce, but he found out nothing, though his deduction was successful.

He was confused: "It seems this one is quite a trouble!".

Lucan decided to go to his spaceship and ask for help from the golden butterfly, as he knew it could possibly give him some useful solution.

Moreover, by doing so, he also would keep his promise to the golden butterfly, which would deepen their bond.

But he felt the crystal of betrayal glowing brighter. He was just within the range of his spaceship, and he felt something amiss.

As he distanced himself back, the glow started to dim and fade away.

He realized a small but crucial piece of information: the certain crystal would glow brighter only if that certain aspect gets stronger.

This means that Lucan had almost betrayed himself just now.

So, going back to the spaceship is actually disadvantageous; staying out is actually the right decision, which he must take.

Lucan stayed out, but he walked forward toward the opposite direction, which was the path opposite to the one he had walked before.

Hoping to gain something, as time passed, even walking relentlessly for days and weeks made no change.

He frowned for the first time since coming here: "Hmm! This is bad, others are strengthening themselves while I am wasting time!

Should I return back to the spaceship? Or not?

But why is returning back a disadvantage to me?".

All these questions emerged in his mind, but he decided to choose all possible directions; this time he decided to fly using cosmic energy.

Earlier, he was wary that cosmic energy had to be conserved to be used in fights or emergencies, but now he had to gamble it.

Lucan flew far away for another couple of weeks, eventually reaching a month.

From his arrival here, he had stayed for about 3 months with no gains.

Lucan decided to make someone else explore this place so that he could find out how this place actually works.

In the meantime, he will strengthen himself, staying out of the spaceship; but where will he go for another person?

Lucan revived a dead slime for the test; the slime was revived instantly.

He slowly opened his eyes as he saw Lucan standing in front of him. He stumbled for a moment before stabilizing.

He asked, "Lucan! How... am I... alive? Where are we? Where are the others?".

Lucan explained everything to him that had occurred without lying; the slime gasped as he fully understood everything.

Teardrops fell from his eyes; an intense surge of grief hit him. He was heartbroken; his whole people were dead.

Including his loved ones, his red eyes stared at Lucan eerily with deep hatred and vengeance.

Lucan smiled at him gently: "You slimes have properly learned emotions, which I have taught. Very good!".

The slime was stunned to see him being so casual. He asked, "Why? Why did you kill us all? What did we do except for helping you and your crew? Tell me!".

Lucan replied, "I killed you all? You are mistaken; it wasn't me, it is org 700 and org 690, but no worries, I have taken revenge for you all and killed org 690!

While org 700 would be killed by the organization themselves for a failure".

The slime pounced on him and slapped him multiple times; he even used cosmic energy to attack fiercely.

If Lucan had decided to save them, all of them would have been alive, but he chose to abandon them even though he could have saved them.

After using full cosmic energy, Lucan was soaked in blood; he was gritting his teeth and enduring the pain.

He smiled warmly as he asked, "Do you feel happy now that you have taken revenge on me?".

But this smile was natural and not forced; the slime was stunned as he asked, "How? How can you be like this?".

Lucan replied, "Hehe! Because I have a purpose in my life, my goal.

To achieve it, even if I have to kill others or myself—"

"YOU WOULDN'T HESITATE, RIGHT? Cold-blooded demon!" The slime shouted.

Lucan shook his head as he continued, "No, no, you have mistaken me again. I would indeed hesitate, but I will do it. If I can't even sacrifice,

How will I achieve my true goal?".

"YOU WOULD HESITATE?" The slime asked with intense rage, as he thought Lucan was lying just to convince him.

Lucan showed him the scene during his retreat on the planet of slimes; he saw the organization members killing them all.

Lucan's pupils shrank; he felt pity for them. He decided to help them, but his self blocked him, saying it would be dangerous.

Lucan was at a deadlock. He said, "In the end, I am still a human, blinded by emotions.

But I can't let them take over me; all my previous efforts, which I painstakingly tried, would be meaningless.

The journey to one's goal won't be an easy path; it would be filled with life-threatening dangers.

Anything has a price to pay. If I can't endure these, then I would never reach my goal, even if I was just a step away."

Lucan asked, "Do you know when I am in these tough situations, what would I do?".

The slime opened his mouth wide; he couldn't believe a person could have this much ambition.

Humans are the most ambitious species, which these aliens would never match even if an infinite number of them came together.

The slime said, "I don't know, tell me...".

Lucan's grin turned wide. He stood up from those heavy injuries and said, "I would still grit my teeth wide and make a decision, hahahaha!".

Lucan laughed insanely. His crystal of betrayal glowed brighter while his injuries were rapidly healed.

He betrayed his own life now; this made the crystal of betrayal rise in its own power.

The slime was speechless. He thought, "Shouldn't this person have the crystal of insanity? Why the crystal of betrayal?".

He asked, "You are a psycho! Insane guy!".

Lucan slowly moved ahead as he put his hands on the slime's shoulder and replied, "Well! Now will you help me? I will revive every single one of your people".

The slime nodded in agreement: "You are actually an incomplete psycho!".
