Chapter 69 - || CHAPTER 69: Interesting! ||

Far away in space, a spaceship was drifting randomly; it did not move towards any one particular direction.

It moved here and there; it was Lucan's spaceship.

Inside the spaceship, Fate guy slowly opened his eyes to see the spaceship.

He was startled for a second as he took a look at himself and touched himself.

He spoke, "I am not... dead? Impossible! I clearly died! Or is this the place where I will stay after death?"

He was confused, as he did not remember the truth: the strange blue light with time essence had revived him along with the rest.

His memories were erased, too.

After a few minutes of thinking, he realized that he was actually still alive, somehow.

But he couldn't remember how he was alive, no matter how much he racked his brains.

Then his eyes widened as he recalled the condition of Lucan and the golden butterfly.

He rushed in there to see...

Lucan, who was kneeling down in complete silence.

Strangely, the room once filled with a golden dazzle was now shrouded in pitch-black darkness.

He couldn't even see the trail of golden butterflies or the gold specks that fell off them.

He approached swiftly. Unfortunately, this room had no light, as the golden butterflies were kept here.

He stumbled upon something and immediately retreated, taking on a fighting stance.

"Who are you? Answer me! What is happening here?"

A figure turned its head towards him; Fate guy's heart sank to rock bottom as he saw a creepy figure.

It was vague and awkward; Fate guy stepped back subconsciously.

*Thud! Thud!* His footsteps made the figure shift its attention towards him.

He tried to run away; the door was within his grasp.

But an ominous hand grabbed his legs and pulled him in. He screamed in fear, "What the heck are you? Leave me! Ah!"

Before he could even finish, he was only a few inches away from the figure.

He saw it closer; it was an odd color, as if a mixture of gold and silver.

It had two eerie eyes: one was gold in color, while the other was silver.

Its mouth had razor-sharp teeth; he felt that with just one touch, he would be crushed into meat paste.

He swallowed his saliva as his heartbeat rose rapidly.

The figure grabbed him and took a closer look. He sighed, "I am literally dying, just after I came back to life! Sigh! I hate my fate!"

But to his surprise, the figure actually hugged him and started to cry. He was speechless.

Fate guy couldn't comprehend anything at all; his mind went blank and his thoughts went swirling.

After a bit of sentiment, the figure started to transform. All that was left behind was...

Countless golden butterflies with one silver butterfly.

The entire dark abyss was lit up with glowing specks that completely turned the environment around, contradicting the gloom.

The gloominess and fear were completely washed away.

The golden butterflies all flew in a circle, leaving only the silver butterfly in the center.

Fate guy saw it turn into a golden butterfly! The silver coating was ripped from its body as a shiny golden butterfly flew out.

It was like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly.

Then another figure stood up; Fate guy and that figure bumped heads.

Lucan woke up as he spoke, "Damn you, Life crystal! I won't spare you! Ah..."

His hands were strangling the neck of Fate guy as he spoke, "Uhm! Why do all of you make me feel closer to death?"

Lucan released his grasp as he asked, "Wait... how am I in my spaceship? Wasn't I dead?"

Fate guy was about to explain as the golden butterflies rushed out, pulling him.

He was dragged out and asked, "Hey! What's the matter with you all? Shouldn't I tell him—"

He saw the golden butterfly's death stare towards Lucan.

He spoke, "Oh! Yeah, I know. Lucan's about to get some thrashing! I might as well try to save my own life."

Lucan grinned, "Hehe! Cowards, who are you afraid of here? There is no Lord, no Life crystal... literally no danger—"

He was stunned to see the golden butterfly before him; he realized at this moment that he was dead meat.

He said, "Hey! Thank you, golden butterfly! And yeah, come on, let me go out..."

But the room was shut tight.

Lucan sighed, "I might as well be dead instead of this, ugh!"

He expected the tickling punishment from the golden butterfly since he had once again risked his life despite its warnings.

But to his surprise, it actually hugged him tight (on his nose) and refused to let go, nuzzling him gently with affection.

Tears rolled down its eyes and hit Lucan's palm; he felt the sadness through the tears.

All this time, whenever he risked his life, it was annoyed and punished him.

In those cases, his life wasn't in much danger, but during the last incident...

He was almost dead...

Lucan gently smiled as he patted the golden butterfly, "It's alright, it's alright, hehe! I broke my promise and risked my life.

So... from now onwards..."

It asked him, "Are you going to avoid risking your life anymore?"

But he shook his head, "No! But you are going to stay by my side in those situations! Where you will save my life! Hehe!"

The golden butterfly turned silent. Lucan was confused, "Is something wrong?"

It replied, "I have... almost completely used up my powers... I need to go into deep hibernation for years until we can meet again!"

Lucan grinned, "Hehe! You almost had me in the first half! I thought your life had come to an end for a second!"

The golden butterfly still refused to let him go as it went into a deep sleep...

It fell off his nose and landed on his palms; the golden wings shriveled as they turned into a cocoon.

The golden butterfly went into the cocoon.

Golden specks burst off the butterfly as they were sprinkled over the entire room.

Lucan stood up, thinking everything was over.

But... the golden specks surrounded him as they started to circle him.

They enveloped his entire body in a mystical armor, which then turned invisible.

Lucan felt a bit safer and cozier inside it.

He pushed open the doors as he walked out. Fate guy saw him and asked, "Hehe, I guess you had enough in there? What punishment did you get?"

Lucan grinned, "Hehe, me? Nice joke! I am Lucan; do you think I wasn't prepared for that? I literally escaped the punishments—"

As he was about to finish, the armor formed a golden butterfly image, and it smirked.

Lucan's pupils shrank to needle size as he saw it heading lower.

Lucan got the most ruthless punishment ever... infinite tickles!

He screamed... well, sorry! He laughed in crazy pain as he asked Fate guy for help.

Fate guy smirked, "Haha, I can't hear anything, Lucan! I am deaf!"

He walked away.

Lucan thought, "Just when I thought it went smoothly! I had to face this! Hahaha, stop it! Hey! Okay! Okay! I apologize! Hahaha, hehe, haah..."

As the laughter echoed, Fate guy was enjoying it secretly from the control area.

But... a monstrous figure suddenly appeared in front of the spaceship.

As it entered the spaceship forcibly, the entire spaceship shook as if there had been an earthquake.

Lucan was about to be hit by a falling ceiling... but the golden butterfly from his armor flew off and obliterated it into nothingness.

Then, both his armor and the golden butterfly turned silver.

He stood up and dusted himself off, "This is not a new thing anymore. Well then, here we go again!"

Fate guy teleported near Lucan, and the three of them took on a fighting stance.

With eyes as sharp as an eagle's gaze.

The huge figure shrank itself as it appeared right before Lucan, only a few inches away.

The silver butterfly was stunned to see someone move faster than itself.

Fate guy's heart almost fell out as he gasped.

Lucan's wide grin was as present as ever: "Hehe, that was pretty fast! Interesting!"
