Today at the hospital, Dr. Kevin did not know why he was smiling so much and feeling shy. Looking at him, it felt as if he was completely colored in Sarah's love. Everywhere he looked, he could only see Sarah's face. It had gone to the extent that he accidentally called a nurse "beautiful." The nurse became extremely happy hearing this, thinking that Dr. Kevin found her beautiful, but she did not realize that it was actually Sarah who was in his heart.
After some time, Kevin's friend noticed that something was different about him today. He went near Kevin, placed his hand on his shoulder, and said, "Can I know the reason behind your happiness today?"
Kevin replied, "It's nothing like what you are thinking."
His friend smiled and said, "I didn't even say anything. I just asked what the reason is. Or is it exactly what I'm thinking?"
Kevin blushed, looked down, and smiled softly. Then he said, "You're my friend, so I won't hide it from you. I think I have fallen in love again."
Hearing this, his friend became very happy. He immediately hugged Kevin and asked, "Who is she? And does she feel the same way about you?"
Kevin said, "Do you remember the girl who had lost her memory, the one I used to call 'beautiful'?"
His friend nodded and said, "Yes, I remember. I felt really bad for her."
Kevin continued, "For the past few days, I couldn't understand why I felt drawn toward her whenever she was around me, why my heart started beating faster, and why I began losing control over myself. But today I realized… I have already given my heart to her."
His friend smiled and said, "So that's the matter. I'm really happy for you. Ever since you lost Sofia, I have seen you alone, crying, broken, and shattered every single day. But today, seeing you like this makes me truly happy. So, have you told her how you feel?"
Kevin shook his head gently.
His friend said, "Don't delay. Go and tell her your feelings today itself."
After hearing his friend's words, Kevin decided that he would confess his feelings to Sarah that very day.
After finishing his work, Kevin went home carrying a bouquet of roses and an expensive diamond ring, planning to propose to Sarah.
As soon as he entered the house, Sarah came running toward him happily and hugged him like a close friend. For a moment, Kevin felt that maybe Sarah also felt the same way about him. This thought made him even happier.
Sarah pulled away, looked at him with joy, and said, "Kevin, today I am very happy. I can't even express it. I want you to meet someone."
She held his hand and took him into the hall. There, Kevin saw a well-dressed man, the CEO of a big company. That man was none other than Ryan — Sarah's boyfriend.
Sarah said, "Kevin, I may not remember everything, but I do remember this much… he is the one I truly loved, and I wanted to marry him."
Hearing this, it felt as if the ground slipped beneath Kevin's feet. His eyes filled with tears, and the bouquet of roses fell from his hands. His heart broke once again.
Sarah noticed his condition. She saw the tears in his eyes and the fallen bouquet. She picked it up and asked, "What happened? Are you okay?"
Kevin forced a smile and said, "Hey beautiful, I haven't been feeling well since morning. Maybe that's why."
Sarah placed her hand on her forehead and said, "I'm so foolish. You came home tired from work, and I didn't even take care of you." She held his hand and made him sit beside Ryan so they could talk, and said, "I'll bring some water for you."
When Kevin sat near Ryan, Ryan warmly hugged him and thanked him. He said, "I don't know how to thank you. Sarah told me everything—how you saved her life, became her friend, and gave her a place to stay. I am truly grateful."
Kevin smiled, but it was a fake smile hiding deep pain. He said, "There's no need for thanks. I only did what any human would do. I can't see someone in pain."
Ryan then started telling Kevin about his and Sarah's story—how they met in college, how they fell in love at first sight, how their relationship became famous, and how they were about to get married before the accident happened.
He also said that he and Sarah would get married next week.
Kevin just nodded silently. He was completely broken from inside but couldn't express his pain.
Unable to control himself anymore, Kevin asked Ryan for a moment and said he would be back soon.
He ran to his room, locked the door, sat down on the floor near it, and burst into tears. He took out the diamond ring from his pocket, looked at it, and said, "Maybe I was wrong. I thought too much. It's better if I forget her… because today she is happy with her love. And maybe my happiness lies in letting her go."
Kevin wiped his tears, gathered himself, put on a fake smile, and went back downstairs again.
