Kael didn't know what type of sorcery was being used on him, but the more he moved around the dungeon, the more he began to understand the place. And this insight wasn't just on the surface level either.
Little by little, he was getting the hang of this place at a deeper level… no, if it was something that would be like at a fundamental level. He was beginning to grasp how things happen, what was his, the guardians', and the summons' role.
And most importantly, what was the role of the giant crystal floating in front of him?
"What sort of magic, master…" replying to his words, Lucian asked the question with great anticipation all over his eyes.
'Well, I don't know all that yet as well…' Even though Kael had an understanding of the role, he didn't exactly know what would happen. So with a little bit of anticipation, he moved toward the core.
Before arriving in the New World, Kael had relations with all sorts of emotions. He had felt the grief of losing someone close, had already experienced all sorts of drugs and the euphoria it brought. The body of a woman was no stranger to him as well.
But no matter how hard he tried to remember,, he couldn't put a finger on why he was having this great emotional turmoil looking at the core of the dungeon. It was like butterflies were dancing in his stomach, and he was like a newborn looking at his mother's tits.
And the closer he gets to it, the greater it becomes.
'It's like a part of my soul… if there is something like that has been cut out of me and has been placed inside that thing.' Now wanting to wait any longer, Kael moved closer and touched the core, and the moment he did that, something appeared in front of him once again.
[Authority Confirmed]
[Do you like accessing the Administrative Section of the dungeon]
[Yes/No]
'hmm! Why not... let's do it...' thinking he nodded his head.
[Dungeon Tier: 1]
[Dungeon Rank: Unique]
[Dungeon Master: Kael]
[Dungeon Co-Master: None]
[Dungeon Function: [Abilities] [Floors] [Summons] [Guardians]]
[Dungeon Points: 1000]
Clicking on the abilities section, Kael read the only abilities his dungeon possesses at the moment.
'Hmmm!...' he read the ability then rubbed his eyes… then did it again and then again. Only after pinching himself and feeling the pain did he realize he wasn't dreaming.
'What the fuck… Isn't this basically a cheat ability... how am I allowed to have it? Well, I'm not complaining or anything, but still.' Reading the description, he still couldn't believe his eyes, '...and it's not even an active ability. It will work twenty-four by seven.' Grinning, he moved to the next section.
[Floors]
[Floor 1:
Terrain Modification
Create Building (Unavailable)
Build Traps
Room
Guardian]
After playing with the functions some more, he understands what he has already and what he has to do next.
'First... there is only one floor in the dungeon... and the current terrain of the dungeon is set inside an underground system. It's a good thing that I can have the first modification of the terrain for free, or else I would have had to live in this dark cave for a long time.'
Kael was thinking of creating a very modified terrain which would be filled with all sorts of traps and diversions, but as he moved forward, he realized how wrong he was.
[Modification: [Jungle], [Desert], [Snow Field]]
'My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.' With a straight face, he just nodded and accepted his fate.
After a while, he chose Jungle as it provides the best of terrains for ambushes, which he specialized in during his previous life, and he knew that if he wanted to win against someone who came into the dungeon, he had to use his head more than his strength.
He wanted to create some facilities as well, but because of the absence of any builder-type summons, the [Create Building] option was unavailable to him at the moment.
The dungeon provides some basic traps for free, but if he wants to have something complex, then he has to summon builders or hire someone, both of which are unavailable at the moment.
Kael didn't have anything in particular in mind for [Room] and [Guardian], so he just took a peek at both sections and moved forward.
'Now it's time for the summons…' Having a taste of the starters, Kael moved toward tonight's main dish. Summoning monsters was his purpose for coming here, so without any further delay, he clicked, prompting a list to open in front of him.
[Summon: With the help of Dungeon points, you can summon beings to help you. [Dungeon Of Greed] only favours monsters with [Greed] authority in them. If the preferred beings didn't have a greed authority in their nature, you can add it before proceeding with the summon.]
He understood everything about the first line, but after that, he had to stop and think for a moment.
"Master, is something wrong?" While he was thinking, a sudden voice interrupted him.
"Huh!!... Ohh! No, no. It's just I think there are restrictions on the type of monsters we can summon in the dungeon."
Because of his profession and the type of work he did in the past, Kael knew very well about the power information holds within it. And the same was true for the thing he was saying now.
But even then, the reason he told everything without hesitation was because the little thing beside him was someone he had created himself. If that wasn't enough, he had added [Loyal] to his nature.
With all this, he was sure there was no chance of any information leaking from Lucian… intentionally, that is.
"What type of restriction, Master?"
Hearing the question, he looked at Lucian and explained, "It says that we can't summon a monster that doesn't have any authority with Greed. And if we want to summon them, we have to add the authority before summoning."
"Ohhh!"
"...Well, there isn't much we can do about it, so let's see what are we working with here..." Kael was about to continue his task of summoning monsters when Lucian's words interrupted him once again.
"Master, if every monster in the dungeon is required to have authority with Greed, how am I an exception? You see, I only have authority with blood and curse," Lucian asked in confusion.
"Now that you mention it, yes, you don't have any authority with Greed." Whispering, Kael pondered.
'Huh! How come he is an exception to the rule… is there something wrong with the system?' Questioning the authenticity of the dungeon, Kael wondered, trying to come up with some questions.
"Do you feel some sort of restriction placed upon you? Like, there was more in you, but something is pulling you down?" he tried to explain to the best of his ability about the negative passive effects one gets from the game if the requirement is not met.
"No, Master, there is nothing like that. Instead, I feel great. I feel alive like I haven't till now…"
Lucian began his blabber about how great he was feeling, leaving Kael with his thoughts alone. 'If it's not, then what could it be?' As he was pondering the reason, he suddenly remembered the passive ability of the dungeon.
'Could that be related to it? Maybe that's it.' Nodding his head, he asked, "Do you feel like sacrificing any item, I mean your belongings, to the dungeon?"
"Yes..." Lucian replied without any hesitation. Even Kael was shocked at the speed at which he had replied.
"Ohh!"
'Well, that solves one problem… but if the dungeon is picking the target of the passive ability like this… doesn't that create a massive loophole? Well, I knew it, I can't have something nice for free.' Putting a close end to the problem, Kael was about to move on when Lucian's words interrupted him once again.
"...But I think sacrifice is a strong word, Master."
