A student at the back raised his hand, and the entire class, as well as the teacher, looked toward him. The man smirked. "Ray Jayson, you are one of the popular ones in our school. I was also interested in your trait, so please come and demonstrate it."
Ray smirked and spoke, "Of course, it will be my pleasure," before walking to the front where the instructor stood. He bowed slightly and spoke, "I am Ray Jayson, the heir of the Ray Franchise, and I will demonstrate my trait."
Ray held his hand in the air as the surrounding temperature in the entire class fell rapidly, and many students began to shiver from the cold. He spoke, "My trait is called the Frozen Star."
The moisture from the surroundings gathered in his hand as it condensed into a sphere of ice, and it kept shrinking constantly as the temperature of the room increased again. With a snap of his fingers, the sphere burst with extremely cold energy, freezing everything inside the classroom.
The students were frozen due to the extreme cold, and Ray grinned, but from the back, a furious flame surged forward, increasing the entire room's temperature and melting all the ice and water. A voice from the back spoke, "Petty tricks. It's just a star, not Absolute Zero, so it is nothing in front of my flames."
Ray frowned as he looked at the woman at the back extinguishing the ember on her palm with a casual expression and spoke, "Rose Deila, don't you get arrogant in front of me."
Rose smiled and spoke, "We are both from large families, and we are anything but allies, so don't expect me to pity you." Ray became even more furious and spoke, "Don't think it's over, Deila. You are only a star above me. The competition has just started."
Rose scoffed and spoke, "Yeah, yeah, you always say that. You and your father are the same, so arrogant. You both should focus on business more than outside matters, or who knows, maybe someone will overtake you."
Ray was enraged by her statement as he spoke, "You realize that this is the same as waging a political war against us, don't you?"
Rose spoke, "We are businessmen. You better remember that you need the power to back your words."
Ray scoffed and was about to speak, but the instructor interrupted, "Alright, stop there. You are in a university, not in a political debate. Do this when you are back in your business empires rather than inside a university. We don't take such actions kindly here."
The two fell silent as Ray walked back to his seat.
The shadow finally released his barrier as he spoke, "Gosh, first a supernova freeze effect, then a raging tsunami of lava effect. Why are these two so insane?!"
Helix spoke, "It's nothing compared to mine, is it? That power they have is well acceptable, I suppose."
The shadow looked at him and spoke, "You are not human, Helix. Don't compare us with you. You were born with talent while we fight for a new day. We are different because, unlike someone, we don't have safe territories. We are always being attacked."
Helix spoke, "I am aware, but it's not like we have no enemies either. We all have a force to protect our areas, that's all."
The shadow didn't believe Helix, as he had already witnessed the strength of his minions beforehand, and spoke, "Even if someone wanted to attack you, they would most certainly die before getting near the base. Each of your subordinates is at a high rank. If I had to compare them to our society, then Blade, the deer, and the sparrow would be extremely powerful figures backed by powerhouses, as they have extremely high potential."
He continued, "You may not know this, but unlike you, who has no sense of danger, everyone else can differentiate threats from allies. So the reason you never got invaded is not because you are omnipotent, but because your minions are insanely overpowered."
Helix nodded as he understood his words and spoke, "I see. My lack of knowledge clouded my judgment of the outer world. That's a mistake I cannot overlook. I will have to grow my forces once more, I suppose."
The shadow spoke, "I never was a king, but if there is something that will help you, then it's growing your current force in quality. You can use items to make your army stronger. A well-equipped paladin who has been trained will win a battle with less damage to himself than a group of trained paladins without any armour."
