Chapter 1 - chapter one- how it all happened

A long time ago, in a faraway land, across the green lands of Antarctica, there lived a young male prince, ready to rule the Kingdom of Hearts. This prince was trained all his life to become a good ruler once his father, the king, died.

But as time went on, he felt a little scared. He didn't want his father, the king, to die because he felt he couldn't handle the pressure of being king. He thought of ways he could fight the fear of being king, but he ran out of luck because his father became sick.

He spent days in his study, going through theories, and voila, he found the answers to his problems. He was to find an ancient griffin. Legend says this griffin was a mythical monster with the body and hind legs of a lion, and the feathered wings and claws of an eagle.

The griffin was said to have been created by a powerful witch called Morlina. This witch, Morlina, was banished from her coven to a lost desert. She felt lonely and then thought of creating these creatures. When she created them, she knew she had a home and would never be alone again.

But as time went on, men were driven by greed and the desire for power. They located these places where incredible creatures lived. One by one, the men hunted the griffins and drank their blood. They gained wisdom — which symbolized the eagle part of the griffin — and strength — which symbolized the lion part.

The witch, Morlina, fought so hard to keep these creatures alive from greedy men who hungered and thirsted for more power. But she was eventually defeated by the men, who swore to take all the griffins away.

Before she died, she created a seal with a griffin-like shape and locked the last griffin creature inside it. This griffin could only be released with a strong spell that only she knew.

The prince was so determined to find the seal that held the last griffin. He wanted to be powerful, so he went on a quest to search for the last of the powerful creatures. He summoned all the witches in the kingdom to find the spell that could open the seal he found.

He later chose a little witch girl. She was only eighteen, and she was, however, an orphan. So he took her with him in search of the seal. This little witch girl told the prince she knew many things about the legendary witch Morlina and most of her spells.

It took a couple of weeks before they found the seal. It was surrounded by skeletons of different sizes, and that sight frightened everyone — especially the prince. It took them days before they found the hidden key, and soon the prince got hold of the seal.

After breaking a pure sweat casting every powerful spell she knew, the seal finally opened — and the little witch girl fell to the ground. She had overused her magic, and it made her weak.

It was then left for the prince to slay the mighty and most powerful griffin. It took all the small bravery in him and a little help from the witch girl to slay the creature, and soon, the fight was over.

When the prince slayed the last griffin, he took a bowl, filled it with the griffin's blood, and drank it. A few minutes later, a mighty thunder struck the prince, and the witch collapsed on seeing this.

When the smoke cleared, the witch saw the prince floating in the air. His fingers had elongated like the claws of an eagle, and his flanks like those of a lion. After that sight, he fell to the ground.

The witch knew how fragile the prince was, and the moment he fell, there was a loud earthquake that shook the earth. With what little strength she had left, she ran toward the prince. He was lying unconscious on the ground. Her heart stopped when she couldn't feel his heartbeat.

After a long silence, her eyes welled up with tears. He wasn't waking up, but an idea flicked into her mind. She knew she couldn't use her magic again — she was drained from opening the seal — but she had her magic necklace with her.

It was a necklace that could grant wishes because it was shaped like a star. She took it off and placed it on the prince's chest, then sang with her melodic voice:

"Lay, little, little star,

Let your power shine,

And bring back what once was mine."

With that song alone, her star necklace glowed brighter than any sun or star ever had, and it healed the prince.

He raised his eyes to see his angel. Before he could call her name, she kissed him. Even though it wasn't the first time they had kissed since the quest, he still teased her again.

They went back home with a victorious smile on their faces, and the prince got what he wanted. There was no atom of fear in him. He felt fearless and stronger. Somehow, that griffin gave him the power he desired. He could feel how his senses — seeing, hearing, and feeling — became sharper. He was stronger than any man who had ever tried to experience God.

Everything went as he had planned. The prince became the King of Hearts after his father died.

After so many years of ruling, a new problem surfaced for the king — he couldn't bear a child. He didn't want to make his wife feel bad, but this was a big issue for him because the chief of the kingdom kept calling his wife a witch.

The king knew his wife was a witch, but he didn't mind — she was kind and good. In fact, both of them were fine, but they simply couldn't bear a child. Some of the villagers suggested that the king take another wife, but he loved his wife too much, and he knew marrying another would hurt her deeply.

So he went in search of a solution to his problem until he came across a book in his study. It had been years since he opened that book. The moment he began reading the pages, he remembered how he had spent days and nights studying it to find answers.

When he reached the second page, he remembered stopping there long ago, just before finding his solution. Then the king decided to read ahead — and his eyes widened.

Everything that happened now was his fault. How could he not have read the last pages of the book? Now he had to bear the consequences.

He realized too late that the seal could only be opened by a powerful witch — and that whoever broke the seal would die.

This was the witch's murderous curse.

His heart grew heavy, but he was confused. His wife didn't die when she broke the seal. Why then…?
