Ray's POV
I observed as we walked, the surrounding was different and more lively than where we stayed back at the orphanage home. I had never been to this place before.
I was curious so while asking for directions to the location of the place we were going to, i also asked where we were.
I was told we were at Raden city. It was a shock. We were in another city. I had never heard of such a place before. It must be discreet.
On the road, there were prostitutes, jocks, smokers, thieves. The city was just filled with a lot of different things i had never seen before.
We got to the man's house. We got in through the window upstairs. It didn't feel like he was at home at the time, but we still had you look around for the papers.
We found an office but it was locked. Drae helped break the lock on the door and we got in. It was filled with different files.
My eyes caught a file on the side of the table with his name on it.
His name was Professor John clock.
"What type of name is John Clock?" I said to Drae then laughed loudly.
He laughed too but not as loud.
"You'll get us caught Ray. Too loud." He said with a pat on my shoulder.
I could tell Drae was nervous. He didn't want us to fail. He was scared of what might happen.
I held his shoulders and looked at him.
"Hey, we've got this okay." I said
He nodded his head.
I looked at the drawer attached to the table and found the documents.
"Drae, I think i found it." I whispered.
We heard footsteps. The man had finally come home. We hid under the table and planned to ambush him once he finds us.
The door was pushed open.
"Who's there. I won't hurt you, if you come out with your hands up." He said.
He walked forward, then cocked his gun.
We immediately knew that he had a gun which changed everything. I had to immediately change the plan.
Before the man got to the table, Drae stood up with his hands up while i remained under the table with the documents.
"I'm here, please don't shoot." Drae said as he walked slowly towards the chair the man told him to sit on.
"Tie yourself with this rope. Quickly." The man said.
He had Drae on gun point. While he was distracted by Drae tying himself up, i crept from under the table with the knife that was given to us by Kasa.
I stabbed him on his back, in a place that wouldn't kill him. He loosened the grip on his gun, Drae immediately hit his hand with the gun in it, the gun fell to ground.
The man attempted to dive to get it, but i had him on chokehold. Drae got the gun and i made him faint because we were going to cut his fingers and didn't need him to shout from the pain.
I tried to do it but i couldn't do it. It was hard for me. Drae walked towards me from the corner.
"Let me do it." He said.
"No i'm the older one, i should do it." I said to him.
"I already have an experience so give it to me shit head." He said with a loud tone. Then he took the knife from my hands and went towards the man.
I watched my brother chop off the man's hands and realised at that moment that he had changed.
The look on his face was different. It was so serious and scary, with the blood splattered around his face, I couldn't recognize my brother anymore.
He was done cutting the man's fingers. We wrapped it in a cloth. The man was bleeding excessively, but the police had already arrived.
I heard the sirens.
"We have to go now!" I said.
I ran and we jumped out through the window and made our escape.
It was the first mission and we survived it. The boss praised us for it and gave us some money. It was the first time we had ever received such an amount from working.
And to top it off, i had freedom to go anywhere within the city and have fun.
Whenever Drae and i mentioned we were part of the Origami gang, people feared us and gave us free things. We didn't even have to pay most of the time.
The cops always had their eyes on Drae and i, waiting to catch us so we could go to jail. It was a rough city.
Month's passed by quickly and i had already gotten used to the life. I was free, i could do whatever i wanted, and so i thought that this was actually the best life. I could end up being rich if things continue like this.
People in the origami gang started treating us like we were part of them. Although not all had accepted us fully. They still hated us.
I always wondered how the girls were doing and if they were okay. Not that i expected them to be fine as prostitutes.
I had not still told Drae that they were going to become prostitutes and the thought of telling him now was just draining.
And we had not spoken to the girls or seen them since the day we got separated.
Drae and i always tried to ask secretly if they knew where the girls were but no one we asked ever gave us a good response.
It turned out that only Kasa or the boss could give us the information we wanted. But we couldn't just go and ask him. We would get into trouble.
I knew in my heart that one day we would see the girls, and we would all be together again.
I just have to work harder to please the boss.
An idea that saved me before suddenly struck my head.
