When the night was over and I took my VR headset off, I was so fulfilled yet exhausted I had to lie down on my Mom's bed for good fifteen minutes. It was as if my whole body was overloaded with a kind of wholesome energy that it was not used to, my heart feeling tender—like a child too in love with her first puppy, lying at night unable to sleep thinking about the sweet little thing she had been playing with for the whole day.
It was only when I finally managed to get up, grab a cup of water from the kitchen and come back up to my room—only when I entered my room and felt the abnormally chilly air that made me shudder—that I remembered Senne.
She was sitting on the floor, her back leaning against my bed, her feet on the floor, knees raised high, and her hands resting on those knees. She was looking up at the ceiling although there was nothing to look at there.
