Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Hogwarts Express

At 10:30 AM on September 1st, Karl O'Laughlin arrived at King's Cross Station.

He was dragging a large suitcase, walking with a brisk step.

It wasn't that Karl had innate super strength, but rather that he did have some talent for magic, and combined with the learning ability of his hawthorn wand, he could already perform some tricks with the Levitation Charm.

At this moment, the heavy suitcase was floating completely in the air; he was just dragging it along.

Finding the partition wall between platforms 9 and 10, he took advantage of the fact that no one was paying attention and walked straight through.

What he saw was a platform crowded with passengers, all of them Little wizards going to school and their parents.

Beside the platform was a crimson steam train, and the sign hanging on the train read: Hogwarts Express, 11:00.

Seeing that the front carriages were already packed with students, Karl walked straight towards the back of the train.

As a result, he hadn't walked many steps before he saw a family with red hair—it was the famous Weasley family.

Karl identified them; the easiest to recognize were the twins and Ginny Weasley.

Charlie Weasley had a broad face and was tall and strong, while Percy Weasley looked much more scholarly and wore glasses.

Finally, there was Ron Weasley, who was thin but tall with large hands and feet and a long nose. Their whole family had freckles, especially Charlie, whose face was almost changing color.

"Listen! You two! Do fewer pranks at school, I will have Percy keep an eye on you."

The plump Molly Weasley was lecturing the twins, hoping they would behave in the new school year.

After all, this year was Charlie's last year at Hogwarts. By next year, when Charlie graduated and Ron started school, Percy would have to face three troublesome younger brothers alone.

She was worried that the relationship between the children would become tense... well, even more tense.

"Do fewer? Does that mean we can still do some?"

"Shut up, George! You know what I mean!"

"Mom, I'm Fred."

"Oh, sorry Fred."

"Just kidding, I'm actually George."

Molly was speechless.

Karl, who was passing by:...

He made eye contact with Charlie, who was looking after his younger siblings, and they exchanged an awkward yet polite smile.

After checking several compartments and finding none empty, a tired Karl opened another door, and finding only one person inside, he decisively dragged his luggage inside.

It was a little girl with waterfall-like black hair, reading a book with 'Fantastic Quidditch' printed on the cover.

"Hello, I'm a first-year student, Karl O'Laughlin."

"Oh! Sorry, I was engrossed in my book! Hello, I'm also a first-year student, Cho Chang."

So it was you! Harry Potter's first love!

Karl couldn't help but take a few more looks; she was indeed a pretty little girl, and she looked even cuter in her Wizard robes.

"Nice to meet you!"

"Uh... nice to meet you."

Although she didn't understand why Karl's tone was so solemn, the other boy's black hair and black eyes made Cho feel very close to him.

This guy has such a nice smile!

Muttering to herself, Cho shook her head and continued reading, as Quidditch was her true love.

On the other side, after Karl put his suitcase away, he didn't close the door and took out 'History of Magic' to read.

It wasn't that he loved studying, but he wasn't sure if he could withstand Professor Binns' hypnosis once classes started.

Time passed second by second, and just before the train was about to depart, a soft voice came from the doorway.

Karl and Cho both looked up, and a slender figure came into view.

"Excuse me, I see there's still room here, may I come in?"

"Of course."

Cho subconsciously threw her book aside and stood up to help her with her luggage.

"Thanks, I can do it myself."

The newcomer first put a large trunk in the corner, then carried a brown suitcase and sat down beside Cho.

"Nice to meet you both, I'm Nina Goldstein, you can call me Nina."

Her elegant and beautiful face carried a faint smile, making people think of warm sunshine and a gentle breeze.

A pair of blue eyes seemed to ripple with fine starlight, like the reflection of the sky and sea merging together.

And the gently swaying brown high ponytail added a touch of playfulness to her.

Karl was very certain that his compartment was already the best-looking in all of Hogwarts.

"Hello Nina! My name is Cho Chang!"

"Karl O'Laughlin."

The Hogwarts Express had departed. For the rest of the time, Nina accompanied Cho in talking about Quidditch.

Meanwhile, Karl held his book and daydreamed, wondering what Nina Goldstein's background was.

From the moment the little girl entered, he noticed that she had also used the Levitation Charm on her trunk.

Such a talented and good-looking little Witch, why didn't she appear in the original work?

Karl was very curious and wanted to investigate.

...

At noon, the Witch with the trolley knocked on the compartment door.

Karl, Nina, and Cho chose quite a few snacks from her cart and gathered together to eat and chat.

"When I received the owl letter, I was so excited I almost jumped up!"

"The next day, I urged my parents to take me to Diagon Alley to buy school supplies."

"Especially the wand! I've dreamed of having my own wand since I was a child!"

As Cho spoke, she took out her wand from her robes to show them.

"Hmm... Ash, 10 ¼ inches, perhaps Mr. Ollivander used a Unicorn hair core."

"Ah?"

Cho looked at Nina, dumbfounded. I haven't even said it yet, how did you know?

"Uh... I know a little bit about wands, sometimes I can recognize them."

Realizing she had spoken too quickly, Nina smiled shyly at Cho.

Karl: Good heavens! That must be knowing 'a little bit' too much!

And are your eyes a ruler? You can even tell the length?

"Nina! You're amazing!"

Cho looked at Nina with admiration, then turned to look at Karl, "Karl, do you want to..."

"Of course!"

Karl took out his wand without hesitation. He wanted to see how much this girl really knew!

Seeing Karl's wand, Nina opened her eyes wide in surprise, her expression becoming a bit strange.

"Hawthorn, 12 inches, I can't guess the core."

Cho looked curiously at the shape of Karl's wand and asked excitedly: "Is it right? Is it right?"

Karl nodded, "That's right, the core is Pukwudgie hair."

Hearing this, Nina couldn't help but gasp.

"Pukwudgie?" Cho frowned in confusion, then tugged on Nina's sleeve, "What about you?"

"Um... mine is Oak, 12 inches, also Pukwudgie hair."

Karl looked at the wand Nina took out, unable to help but raise an eyebrow.

The wand was elegant and rounded, with gorgeous feather and scale patterns on it, and a grip made of another material.

Of course, these were not the important things; what was important was that a strand of grey-gold long hair was tied in the hole at the end of the wand.

Karl could guarantee with his Jungle Cat instincts that this was definitely a Qilin mane.

Cho: (゚д゚≡゚д゚)

"You guys..."

"Coincidence!" × 2
