Sultan Mehmed II attacked Constantinople with big cannons and a massive army. The city fought back for almost two months before it fell. The emperor died fighting, ending the Byzantine Empire. People in Constantinople were scared and sad as the Ottomans took over. Many were killed or became slaves. Mehmed II was victorious and made the city his new capital, calling it Istanbul. This started a new time for the Ottoman Empire.
Helena Palaiologina, the daughter of Theodore II Palaiologos, was born around 1428, making her approximately 25 years old at the time of the Fall of Constantinople on May 29, 1453. By then, she was already the Queen of Cyprus, having married John II of Lusignan in 1442 when she was about 14 years old.
However, n a particular rest day, Helena was miraculously revived by Herta, a young, beautiful, and brilliant female who was #83 of the Genius Society. Known for her experiments that pushed the boundaries of nature, Herta tested various combinations of organic and inorganic parts to restore Helena. She attached a fluorescent LED tube as a spine, Tingyun's tail, and Jiaoqiu's fox ears, each addition a testament to her eccentric creativity.
Ultimately dissatisfied with these modifications, Herta sought assistance from #81, Ruan Mei, a biologist skilled in reviving people. Ruan Mei replaced the unusual parts with artificial body components designed to resemble human features. Yet, finding this solution unremarkable, she infused Helena with "memory bubbles" containing rich emotions she had acquired from the Trailblazer--Stelle (each bubble costing 160 Stellar Jades). With these memories, Helena's revival was complete, blending her historic essence with a vibrant new existence shaped by the extraordinary ingenuity of the Genius Society.
However, because the Trailblazer, Stelle, focused solely on collecting Stellar Jades rather than examining the quality and content of the memory bubbles, Ruan Mei assumed that Helena would likely suffer from permanent head damage. Faced with this predicament, Ruan Mei devised a solution two days later—perhaps inspired by the cupcakes Herta had baked for her. Her plan involved removing Helena's original memories, including those of her family, age, nationality, ethnicity, and even her place of birth. Additionally, Ruan Mei carefully purged unnecessary fragments from the memory bubbles to stabilize Helena's mind.
A week later, Ruan Mei visited the Herta Space Station to present her finalized work—a new "researcher" named Margarita Olivares. To ease the notoriously selective Herta into accepting this new addition, Ruan Mei brought along some cat-shaped cakes. Knowing Herta's peculiar preferences, the charming and whimsical pastries, paired with a few flattering words, proved to be an effective gesture. And thus, Margarita was introduced into the ever-curious and eccentric environment, a new chapter in the chaotic yet brilliant world of unconventional science.
