Chapter 251 - Chapter 1: Sneak Peek:

A sneak peek from what will be chapter seven:

James let out a heartbroken wail, one that Lily echoed herself.

As soon as Harry made it back to his house, James got to his feet and offered Lily his hand. "C'mon," he said softly. "Let's go get him."

Lily's eyes were burning as she and James made the long walk to the visitors entrance for the little boy they knew would be showing up soon.

The two of them stood by the entrance, hand in hand, and waited patiently.

There weren't many things that could cause them to step away from 'The Harry Potter Channel', but this was one of them.

They owed it to their son to do this for him.

And, when little Trent Bailey stepped out of the doors, his big green eyes wide and his bottom lip quivering, Lily knew it was the right decision.

"Oh, Trent." She dropped James' hand and opened her arms to the boy, the motherly instincts she never got to really use rearing its head inside her. "You brave boy."

Trent shook his head in denial. "Where- where am I?" he asked softly. "I- my friends- my brother- he needs me. I can't- I don't…" he looked up at Lily with the most horribly sad eyes. "I died?"

"You did." Lily's heart was breaking, shattering in to a million pieces. "You saved her though, Trent. You saved Sapphire's life."

Lily ran to Trent and wrapped her arms around him as his knees collapsed and he dropped to the ground with a cry.

"Harry, and Theo, Sapphire… Sirius and Remus… my mum…" he cried, his shoulders shaking beneath Lily's arms. "They- they need me! I can't be dead! Please, I can't!"

"Oh, baby." Lily rocked him tightly against her chest. She looked up at James and knew that his miserable expression was a mirror of her own. "You did so good," she told Trent. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."

They stayed like that for a while; Trent sobbed without tears in Lily's arms, Lily cried as hard for this boy as she did for her own son, and James prayed that this would be the last black-haired, green-eyed boy to join them for a long while.

But, knowing what he did from all the work Severus had done, James thought he might be seeing his son sooner rather than later.

When Trent finally seemed a little more peaceful, he sniffled and shifted a little, prompting Lily to loosen her hold on him.

"What do I do now?" he asked her sadly with big eyes filled with heartbreak. "I don't- what do I do?"

James reached down and offered Trent his hand. "You can come with us," he said softly. "I'm James, this is Lily. Sirius and Remus were my best friends, and—"

"And Harry's your son!" Trent gasped. He looked quickly between James and Lily. "Oh! I can tell you all about him, if you want? He's brill."

Lily and James exchanged a sad smile and then Lily got to her feet after Trent accepted James' hand to get to his own feet.

"We'd love that," Lily told him. She offered Trent her other hand and he hesitantly accepted it. "Come on, we'll add a room for you on to our house."

Trent looked up between the two of them, turning his head left and right quickly. "I can stay with you?"

Lily impulsively bent down and kissed the top of his head. "Of course you can," she told him softly. "We'd be honored to have you stay with us."

Trent smiled; a little sad, a little shy, a little sweet.

And the three of them walked back to their cottage together to watch and wait for when Harry would join them.
