Chapter 51
After explaining the follow-up arrangements, Yasui Makoto did not go into detail about the training plan.
It wasn't because he was keeping secrets.
According to procedure, the overall training plan — just like the teachers' lesson plans — had already been submitted to the academy long ago.
The more detailed adjustments depended on Kitasan Black's condition each day. Those were more like training summaries than plans.
Those records would also need to be compiled into files and submitted later, so there was no need to explain them now.
Tokai Teio and Mejiro McQueen understood this, so the conversation naturally shifted to the drone.
True to her role as president, Tokai Teio had already come up with solutions for the issues Yasui Makoto had mentioned earlier.
"To put it simply, the problems you brought up are basically technical and practical ones."
As she spoke, the president sat behind the desk and pulled out some forms from the drawer to fill them in.
"I'm not an expert on the technical side, but it seems like there are issues with both hardware and software.
"For hardware, I'll apply to the university division. After that, Trainer Yasui, you can go find Belno Light, the head of the Manufacturing and Engineering Research Department.
"Also, Vodka studied mechanical engineering overseas, so she might have some knowledge about this.
"You can talk to her privately. I'll mention it in the application too. If she's interested, she can head straight to the research division.
"For the software side, you can speak with Air Shakur, the head of the department.
"I just remembered — during the last fireworks festival, she was one of the executive committee members and even proposed using drones to the organizers.
"The proposal wasn't approved in the end, but she definitely knows a lot about drones. She might be able to solve the software issues right away and give you ideas for the hardware too.
"I'll fill out that part of the application as well. Once it's approved, you can go to them directly."
While outlining the technical solutions out loud, Tokai Teio quickly filled out several forms.
She then handed the papers to Mejiro McQueen. Once her friend nodded and took them to another desk to work on, she pulled out a few more new forms.
"The practical side has standard procedures.
"As long as it's only used as training equipment and stays within the training grounds, it'll be fine. I'll clearly mark the permitted area on the forms.
"There are six copies in total. One goes to the association, one to the chairman, and I'll keep one here.
"The remaining three go to the administrators at Ritto and Miho — one each.
"Although the handover isn't complete yet, Hishi Amazon will be transferred soon, and Vodka will take over.
"She and Daiwa Scarlet will explain it to you and the students. With their reputation and popularity, you don't need to worry about anything.
"The last copy stays with you. You can show it if anyone has questions. I'll also post an official announcement about it."
"Thank you, President. This is really…"
Impressed by Tokai Teio's efficiency, Yasui Makoto thought for a moment.
"This is a huge help. I haven't seen President Rudolf working in person, but I imagine your abilities are every bit as impressive, President Teio."
Tokai Teio's ears twitched quickly.
"Right?! I really have become as outstanding as the president! Hehe, Trainer Yasui really…"
A childlike, proud smile spread across her face from the praise, but she soon heard a cough from the other side of the room. She quickly rubbed her cheeks and put on a serious expression.
"Ahem, sorry. Let me finish filling out these forms first. Please wait a moment, Trainer Yasui.
"Once McQueen finishes the applications, she'll give you the contact information for both department heads. They'll reach out to you after the applications are approved."
Hearing this, Yasui Makoto sighed inwardly in admiration once more and turned to pack up the drone.
He had heard of the two horse girls Tokai Teio mentioned.
Belno Light was the head of the Manufacturing and Engineering Research Department in the university division and was extremely capable — known in the industry as a "technical genius."
Interestingly, she and Oguri Cap were both from Nagoya — specifically from Kasamatsu — and had attended Kasamatsu Tresen Academy together before debuting in the same year.
Compared to Oguri Cap, Belno Light didn't have outstanding racing talent.
But thanks to her technical talent and hard work, she transferred to the Central alongside Oguri Cap.
In the years that followed, she provided a lot of help with Oguri Cap's training equipment, race gear, and even some racing techniques.
Air Shakur was also a technical genius, but she also possessed exceptional racing talent.
In addition to being the head of the Computer Science and Technology Department, she was a two-crown winner who had taken the Satsuki Sho and Kikuka Sho, as well as the best classic-generation horse girl of her year.
With help from those two and their respective departments, the drone issues should be resolved easily.
Yasui Makoto was confident they would be very interested in his machine.
After all, the creator of this drone was one of the pioneers in the field — Vijay Kumar.
The scholar was currently the dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
It wasn't a coincidence that Yasui Makoto had been able to contact someone like him.
Extreme stunt work required many high-tech products, and drones were one of them — otherwise, many spectacular shots simply couldn't be captured.
Moreover, combining some cutting-edge concepts and technologies with the current timeline and writing about them wasn't that difficult when trying to catch the interest of industry leaders.
Before coming to Tokyo, he had already posted on several highly specialized forums and official sites, making contact and communicating with various well-known figures.
Those people had no idea that the person discussing "cutting-edge technology" with them was an underage boy who had no intention of further academic study — he was simply laying the groundwork for his trainer career.
After all, in Yasui Makoto's view, humans had limits.
Doing his job as a trainer well was enough. Everything else could happen naturally.
Once the two presidents had helped finish all the paperwork, Yasui Makoto thanked them, returned to the shared trainers' office, and completed his regular duties as usual.
That evening, he naturally continued Kitasan Black's training.
Right after finishing the usual warm-up, the black-haired girl excitedly and mysteriously pulled a small notebook from her pocket and handed it over like a treasure.
"Trainer, look at this!"
If Yasui Makoto hadn't seen Kitasan Black hiding in the bushes at the student council, he might not have guessed what was in his horse girl's hands.
Now it was obvious — this had to be the opponent information she had secretly investigated.
Deep down, Yasui Makoto didn't actually need any extra investigation. Thanks to his foresight, he had already gathered more than enough information.
But seeing the girl's beaming smile, her mysterious and expectant eyes, her twitching long ears, and her wagging tail, he still pretended he knew nothing and took the little notebook with a "curious" expression.
