The next morning, Gideon stood by the window, phone pressed to his ear as he delivered the report regarding the Western Borders.
"Ensley is already on his flight back," Gideon stated. "He will be there shortly to provide any further details you require."
"Had I known you would finish this task in a single day, I would have sent you weeks ago," Huxley replied from the other end of the line, sounding genuinely impressed. "I'm proud of you, Gideon."
"Thank you, Father. But I must say, you didn't need to send Ensley here," Gideon noted, his tone shifting to one of frustration. "I don't care for his involvement in the matters I am handling. It was a distraction more than a help."
"I only wanted him to learn a few things from you," Huxley answered with a sigh. "But it seems you finished the task even before your younger brother could settle in to watch you work. You move faster than I anticipated."
