"My brother will never do something to hurt me!!"
I yelled, grabbing my hairs, tears kept falling on my clothes,I threw all the things in my office, yelling, letting all the pain inside my heart out.
I standed there in the middle of my office, breathing hard, surrounded by the mess of what used to be a life I built. The shattered glass on the floor crunched under my shoes, tiny pieces grinding together like something alive. Outside, the city hums on, indifferent. The same skyline that once made me feel invincible now feels like a trap.
My chest heaves, every breath shallow. I looked around at the broken computer monitor, the strewn papers, the wreck of my desk. There was a strange calm settling in the aftermath—like the storm has burned itself out but left everything scorched.
I walked over to the window, and stared through the shattered glass, the cool evening breeze whispering against my skin as I gripped the windowsill. My reflection, fractured and distorted, gazed back at me from the broken pane - a man unrecognizable even to myself.
My fists clenched, knuckled white. This betrayal, it burned like acid in my veins. The trust I had placed in my brother, the faith I had in family - it was all a lie. The phone call replayed in my mind, Adrian Blake's voice dripping with a polite indifference that made me want to punch through the glass and in anger, I lost my control.
I continuously slammed on the glass until the Blood started running across the broken pieces of the glass and taking the shape of it.
I will kill him!Thinking that, I left my office in anger.
I slamed the elevator button turning them into my color, fingers still trembling. My reflection stared back—torn shirt, sweat-slicked skin, eyes wild. The metal doors opened with a mechanical chime, revealing the mirrored interior. I stepped inside, punching the lobby button so hard it left a faint imprint.
