Chapter 1 - when a boy meet a girl

It was a quiet evening in a small town where life moved slowly, and people knew each other by name. The streets were not crowded, and the हवा carried a calmness that made everything feel peaceful.

A boy named Ayan lived there. He was not very talkative, but he had a kind heart. He liked spending time alone—reading books, walking by the lake, and watching the sky change colors in the evening.

One day, something unexpected happened.

It was raining softly. Ayan was standing under a small shade near a bus stop, watching the raindrops fall on the road. The sound of rain made him feel relaxed.

Just then, a girl came running and stood beside him. She was slightly out of breath, holding her bag close to protect it from the rain.

"Hey… is the bus late?" she asked, trying to catch her breath.

Ayan looked at her and said, "Yeah… I think so."

The girl smiled. "I'm Riya, by the way."

"Ayan," he replied softly.

That was their first meeting—simple, quiet, and unexpected.

After that day, they started seeing each other more often. Sometimes at the same bus stop, sometimes in the nearby park. At first, they talked only a little, but slowly their conversations became longer.

Riya was very different from Ayan. She was cheerful, talkative, and full of energy. She loved music, rain, and long walks. Ayan, on the other hand, was calm and silent—but he enjoyed listening to her.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months.

They began to share everything—their dreams, fears, and little secrets. They laughed together, walked together, and sometimes just sat quietly, enjoying each other's presence.

One evening, they went to the lake. The sky was painted with shades of orange and pink. The water reflected the colors beautifully.

Riya said, "I wish time could stop right now."

Ayan looked at her and smiled. "Maybe it does… in moments like this."

Riya looked at him, her eyes soft and thoughtful. Something had changed between them, though neither of them said it out loud.

Their bond grew deeper with time. They didn't need to talk all the time. Even silence felt comfortable between them.

But life is never always the same.

One day, Riya looked unusually quiet. Ayan noticed it immediately.

"What happened?" he asked.

Riya hesitated for a moment, then said, "My father got a transfer… we are moving to another city."

For a moment, everything felt still.

Ayan didn't know what to say. He had never felt this kind of heaviness before.

"When?" he asked slowly.

"In a week," Riya replied.

That one week felt too short.

They tried to spend as much time together as possible. They went to all their favorite places—the bus stop, the park, the lake.

But now, everything felt different. The laughter was softer, the silence was heavier.

On the last day, they met at the lake one final time.

The sky looked beautiful, just like the first day they came there together. But this time, it didn't feel the same.

Riya smiled, but her eyes were filled with tears.

"I don't know what to say," she whispered.

Ayan looked at her and said, "You don't have to say anything."

There was a long silence.

Then Riya said softly, "Will you remember me?"

Ayan smiled gently. "I don't think I can forget you… even if I try."

A tear rolled down Riya's cheek. She quickly wiped it and laughed a little.

"Take care of yourself," she said.

"You too," Ayan replied.

And just like that… she left.

No promises, no "I love you," no dramatic goodbye.

Just a quiet ending.

Days passed. Then months.

Ayan still went to the lake sometimes. He still watched the sky in the evening. Everything looked the same… but felt different.

He missed her voice, her laughter, and the way she made simple moments feel special.

But slowly, he understood something.

Not all people stay in our lives forever.

Some come for a short time… and change us in a way that lasts forever.

Years later, whenever Ayan saw rain falling or the sky turning orange at sunset, he remembered her.

Not with sadness… but with a soft smile.

Because once, in his life, there was a girl

who made everything feel a little more beautiful.
