Chapter 1 - The Traveler System

"My name… is Kairo.

Kairo D. Arashi."

Half a month ago, I accidentally arrived in Windmill Village, in the world of One Piece, and became bound to a Traveler System.

The moment I obtained the system, I was completely dumbfounded.

In a world where pirates run rampant and strength reigns supreme… I get a Traveler System? Is this supposed to turn me into some kind of globe-trotting tourist?

Fortunately, when the system bound to me, it gave me a starter gift pack.

And this gift pack was seriously powerful.

It contained Conqueror's Haki, Armament Haki, Observation Haki, combat experience, and a permanent pointer!

From what I know about the anime, although Conqueror's Haki is incredibly impressive early on, once you enter the New World, those who possess it are as common as carp crossing a river. So, compared to Conqueror's Haki, I actually prefer Armament Haki and Observation Haki.

Especially Observation Haki—if developed to its peak, it allows you to foresee the future. That's seriously overpowered.

At the same time I received the gift pack, I also received my first mission from the system.

The mission was simple: stay in Windmill Village, familiarize myself with its culture and customs, and spread Confucianism throughout the village.

Confucianism?

What kind of nonsense is that?!

Well… although Kairo D. Arashi had no idea what kind of bizarre mission this was, having grown up in a country steeped in Confucian thought for over two thousand years, he didn't find it difficult at all.

In fact, it was ridiculously easy.

After half a month, my understanding of Windmill Village had already surpassed that of many villagers, and I had built good relationships with them. Among them, I was closest to the village chief, Woop Slap, and Makino, the owner of Partys Bar.

Especially Makino—gentle, kind, and warm-hearted. No matter who it is, she greets them with a sunshine-like smile and attentive care.

She's a good woman—the kind you'd want to settle down with.

I can tell she likes me a little… maybe quite a bit… maybe even wants to marry me.

Unfortunately, the system has notified me that I must leave Windmill Village within three days and begin my next journey.

The reward for completing the Windmill Village mission was Travel Points.

Travel Points can be used to upgrade my three types of Haki and combat experience.

Maybe because Windmill Village is so remote and small, I only received 100 Travel Points—nowhere near enough to upgrade any of my Haki.

Yeah… it's time to leave.

At the bar counter of Partys Bar, Makino—wearing her headscarf as always, gentle and attentive—handed Kairo D. Arashi a glass of red wine with her signature smile.

"Mr. Kairo D. Arashi?"

"Oh, thanks."

Kairo D. Arashi snapped out of his thoughts, took the glass, and after a light sip, leaned back against the counter.

"Makino, if you could travel, where would you want to go?"

"Huh?"

Makino blinked in surprise, then shook her head.

"I've never really thought about it."

"Is that so…"

Kairo D. Arashi narrowed his eyes slightly before continuing, "What do you think about Shimotsuki Village?"

"Mr. Kairo D. Arashi, are you… leaving?"

Makino suddenly realized something. Blinking her bright eyes, she cautiously asked, "Do you want to go to Shimotsuki Village?"

"Yes."

Kairo D. Arashi nodded. "So I'd like to trouble you to prepare a small boat for me. I'll leave tomorrow."

"Tomorrow?"

Caught off guard, Makino exclaimed, "So soon?"

"I've already stayed in Windmill Village for too long. It's time to go."

Kairo D. Arashi tilted his head back and finished the wine in one gulp.

"Thank you for your care and hospitality during this time, Makino."

"It's nothing…"

Makino shook her head, reluctant.

"If you suddenly leave, everyone will miss you. We all knew you would leave eventually, but… we didn't expect it to be this soon."

Kairo D. Arashi could feel her reluctance—and once again, her feelings for him.

She really is a good woman.

Maybe I should just… hehe… before I go?

The next day.

At Windmill Village's dock, nearly all the villagers had gathered.

To them, although Kairo D. Arashi wasn't originally from Windmill Village, after just half a month together, they had all grown fond of this unexpected visitor who called himself a traveler.

Especially the village chief, Woop Slap, who absolutely loved the Confucian teachings Kairo D. Arashi had introduced.

Concepts like benevolent governance, rule by rites, governance through virtue, and moral influence—ideas he had never heard before—left him enlightened and deeply fascinated.

Not just the chief—Kairo D. Arashi had planted the complete framework of Confucian thought into the hearts of every villager, where it had begun to take root and grow.

This was the mission he received upon arriving—and clearly, he had completed it excellently.

The villagers of Windmill Village had risen to an entirely new level.

To them, Kairo D. Arashi was no longer just a traveler. In their eyes, he was a great pioneer—someone destined to accomplish great things in the future.

So when they learned he was leaving, they all voluntarily came to the dock to see him off.

Standing at the front, Village Chief Woop Slap signaled for silence, then stepped forward and bowed slightly.

"Mr. Kairo D. Arashi, we have learned much from you during this time. We know your ambitions lie far beyond this place, so we won't try to make you stay. We wish you a smooth journey."

"You're too kind, Chief."

Kairo D. Arashi smiled.

"I arrived in Windmill Village with nothing. It's I who should be thanking all of you."

With that, he nimbly jumped onto the small boat Makino had prepared for him. Turning around, he waved at the villagers on the dock.

"Well then, everyone—until we meet again!"

"Goodbye, Mr. Kairo D. Arashi!"

The villagers waved back reluctantly.

Woop Slap, however, turned away in silence, shaking his head with a sigh.

"If only Mr. Kairo D. Arashi were willing to stay… I'd gladly step down as village chief."

"Chief, Mr. Kairo D. Arashi loves to travel—you can't force him to stay."

Standing beside him, Makino blinked playfully.

"Besides, Windmill Village is too small to hold someone like him."

"Sigh…"

Woop Slap sighed again.

Clearly, he was the one most unwilling to see Kairo D. Arashi leave.
