In a small space on a mountain, there was a refined cabin with a small courtyard and a simple tree planted next to a modest garden.
"Senior Brother should have already woken up by now, I hope he likes these things," said Su Feng, who was arriving while holding a plate with various fruits in his hand.
He walked toward the door and knocked once.
"You may enter," the voice came immediately, and Su Feng, unable to wait, opened the door.
Inside the cabin, a young man wearing a sword crown upon his head, with eyebrows as sharp as swords and eyes as bright as stars, dressed in a black and white robe, sat in the middle of the room with his eyes closed.
"Do you have a problem with your cultivation, Junior Brother?" asked the Senior Brother, Wu Huang.
Su Feng, with a smile, shook his head. "No, I just came to deliver these things to Senior Brother, I hope you like them."
Wu Huang opened his eyes and stood up, walking toward Su Feng; he took one of the fruits and ate it immediately.
"Quite good, thank you, Su Feng," Wu Huang said with a warm smile as he patted his head. "Eating alone is a bit boring, do you want to eat with me?"
"Of course, Senior Brother!" Su Feng said with a bright smile.
Unable to wait, he entered immediately and began to arrange everything, also taking out several dishes and delicacies from his storage ring.
Wu Huang, seeing his enthusiasm, only chuckled softly as he sat down.
Seeing the high-quality dishes that perfectly suited his tastes, he couldn't help but smile as a thought crossed his mind: 'A very filial junior brother, it seems it was worth raising and protecting him up to this point.'
While both talked animatedly and ate, Wu Huang asked, "How has your cultivation been going recently?"
Brother Su replied with humility, "With Senior Brother's help, I managed to break through to the late stage of Qi Refining. I am just one step away from Foundation Establishment."
"It is an extremely important step," Wu Huang warned seriously. "Do not rush; otherwise, you will build an unstable foundation that will ruin your future."
"I will follow Senior Brother's instructions to the letter," Su Feng replied respectfully.
Wu Huang nodded in satisfaction, and with a mischievous smile, he asked, "I've seen you a lot with Junior Sister Lin Xian'er recently. It seems your relationship is quite good."
Su Feng, a bit embarrassed, scratched his cheek. "We both joined the Peak at the same time, so it's normal for us to spend time together."
Wu Huang nodded with a knowing smile and did not press the matter further. After all, he knew that the more you force something, the more resistance there is; if he let things flow at their own pace, both would eventually end up together.
Wu Huang sighed to himself. As the "Son of Heaven" (Protagonist) of this story, Su Feng was supposed to end up having a harem with countless partners. 'Although dating my master would be a bit inappropriate... dating the rest of my junior sisters wouldn't be bad at all,' he thought.
The truth was that Wu Huang did not entirely belong to this world: he was a transmigrator who had reincarnated here. Relying on his poor innate talent but compensating for it with a monstrous comprehension, he managed to rise by leaps and bounds and join the Main Peak, becoming the direct disciple of the Sect Master himself.
At first, Wu Huang thought he was the protagonist of his own legend. However, upon meeting this adorable and incredibly lucky junior brother, he discovered with horror that he had more of the making of a supporting villain.
After all, in the clichés of the Xianxia genre, he fulfilled exactly the role of the "arrogant Senior Brother" destined to obstruct the rising little genius in various ways only to end up being humiliated. But Wu Huang was no fool; he was going to pamper the protagonist to exhaustion to ensure his own survival!
And looking at what had happened in a year, it seemed clear that he had made the right decision.
This little brother, who had not even reached the late stage of Qi Refining back then, had already defeated disciples in the Foundation Establishment realm, and even managed to escape the clutches of a fearsome Golden Core demonic cultivator.
If it had been Wu Huang himself, he would have died countless times under the attack of a Golden Core; he would have had no hope of survival.
But as the protagonist and Son of Heaven, it was to be expected that Su Feng would be someone incredibly hard to kill. Not only that, but life-and-death situations always made him stronger and came accompanied by legendary rewards.
Any thought of fighting him or causing him trouble vanished completely from Wu Huang's mind upon seeing the incredible feats the boy could achieve, things that he could never have done.
Although he felt a bit of envy, he knew better than anyone that the world of cultivation was not fair. So he could only accept his reality, embrace his junior brother's golden thigh, and become the best and most protective Senior Brother this fantasy world had ever seen.
Only in this way could he prevent this junior brother from killing him in the future.
While Wu Huang was thinking about it, the door suddenly opened.
Wu Huang looked up, snapping out of his thoughts. "Lin Xian'er? You may enter," Wu Huang said, inviting her in with a kind gesture.
A beautiful young woman who barely reached his neck entered the room. Her body was small and delicate, but it already overflowed with the charm of a lotus flower about to bloom; pure, elegant, and with an aura of celestial innocence.
"I greet Senior Brother and Brother Su," the young woman said with a slight bow.
Lin Xian'er, with a bright smile, entered completely and sat right next to Su Feng.
Wu Huang, seeing the closeness between the two, smiled to himself and asked in a teasing tone, "What brings you here? Did you come to visit Brother Su?"
Lin Xian'er, with flushed cheeks, quickly shook her head. "No... Master has summoned you, Senior Brother."
"Oh? Really?" Wu Huang asked, a bit surprised.
Unless there was a truly important problem, Master did not usually call him or bother him at all, so this sudden summons was quite unusual.
Wu Huang stood up from his seat. "Alright, I will go immediately. You two can stay here as long as you want," he told them with a knowing look.
"We send off Senior Brother!" both young people said immediately, seeing him off with respect as Wu Huang left the cabin.
