Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Massacre in the Rain of Bullets

**Chapter 11: Massacre in the Rain of Bullets**

The roar of the engine echoed through the streets. A black, lightning-fast vehicle weaved and sped through various buildings.

The surrounding scenery rapidly receded. Passing vehicles were overtaken in various flashy ways before they could even react, causing traffic chaos.

Behind that car, police sirens shrieked, and more than a dozen police cars pursued relentlessly, encircling and blocking.

Further away, a large number of police forces were deployed, setting up various roadblocks and checkpoints to try to intercept the aggressive black car, but each time it either evaded them or forced its way through.

Chaos ensued wherever it passed.

Nearly the entire city's police force had been deployed, determined to stop the two audacious thugs at all costs. Yet in less than ten minutes, they had managed to escape outside the city.

Consequently, even more police and stronger security forces were brought in.

As the battle-worn black car sped down the wide, straight highway outside the city, behind it were relentlessly pursuing police cars, above it hovered helicopters, and ahead lay heavily fortified checkpoints.

It was like an inescapable net.

"Faster, faster! A little faster! We've been locked on."

Zhou Ming's forehead veins bulged, his brow twitched, and an intense sense of crisis, like a small hammer, thump-thumped against his head.

Suddenly, he leaned out of the car window as if flung, raising his hands and firing continuously into the sky.

Precisely at that moment, two rockets were fired from the relentlessly pursuing helicopter above, trailing long plumes of fire as they descended.

Bullets and rockets collided in mid-air.

*Boom!*

A fireball erupted in mid-air, scattering metal fragments and rolling heat waves in all directions.

Before that, Zhou Ming had already ducked back into the car, wiping sweat from his forehead.

"Whew, that scared me."

Yang Zhisheng glanced at him sideways and said, "You, kid, get scared too? I thought—damn it."

He sharply turned the steering wheel, slammed on the brakes, and the car skidded sideways.

Accompanied by the screeching of tires and the roar of machine guns, a string of bullets grazed the car and hit the ground, sending sparks and stone chips flying, leaving a long, charred tire mark on the road.

"Bastards. Chasing so close—shoot it down for me."

Yang Zhisheng roared, opening the panoramic car window.

Sunlight streamed in, revealing the sky above.

Zhou Ming looked up and saw the helicopter circling overhead. A heavy machine gun at the cabin door was being adjusted, aiming carefully at the car below.

"That's a really tricky angle."

Zhou Ming mumbled, then immediately reclined his seat, grabbed the sniper rifle from the back seat, and, lying flat, aimed and fired.

The bullet roared out of the barrel, spinning rapidly in the air, striking the machine gunner's arm with pinpoint accuracy, causing him to scream and fall to the ground, clutching his profusely bleeding arm.

"Didn't kill him?" Yang Zhisheng glanced at Zhou Ming in surprise.

"He won't cause us any more trouble," Zhou Ming said leisurely.

"Tsk tsk, you could have given them a quick end, but you insist on making them suffer for a long time. How cruel," Yang Zhisheng said, feigning indignation.

Zhou Ming: "???"

*You're the devil.*

"Huh?" Yang Zhisheng suddenly let out a soft exclamation, muttering to himself, "Yu Man, are you alright?"

Zhou Ming adjusted his seat back, knowing that Yang Zhisheng, as a cyborg, had built-in communication functions, saving him the need for a phone.

"You've already left the airport? Good. Things happened too suddenly—this was the only way."

"Our plan remains unchanged. Once an operation begins, there's no reason to abandon it halfway."

"No, no need. You just shake off the rats behind you first. Whether our operation succeeds or fails, we'll need a hiding place to lay low for a while."

"Okay, we'll meet up then."

After a few hurried words, Yang Zhisheng said to Zhou Ming, "Yu Man is fine."

Zhou Ming was about to say something, but Yang Zhisheng suddenly yanked the steering wheel, and the car swerved and bounced, cutting him off.

A violent explosion rang in his ears, and the glass on the car's right side shattered. Zhou Ming instinctively ducked, shielding his head with his arm.

The entire right half of the car lifted off the ground, supported only by the two left wheels, almost completely vertical and sliding rapidly to the left.

"Damn it, like a plaster."

Yang Zhisheng glanced in the rearview mirror at the police cars with their screeching sirens.

The Glomo police's pursuit was both fast and fierce, yet Yang Zhisheng couldn't truly shake them off, making him incredibly frustrated.

"Almost there. Fifteen minutes at most," Zhou Ming pulled out a map and glanced at it. "The commotion this time is indeed a bit big. I hope they won't evacuate early."

"Do you think they react that fast? It hasn't been more than half an hour since we started the operation, has it?"

"Who can say? If they really have tools that can predict..."

Zhou Ming's tone was low, and his words made both of them fall silent. But the silence was immediately broken by an attack from behind.

"Damn it."

Zhou Ming leaned out again, firing continuously at the rear, retaliating fiercely, blowing out the tires of several cars before the pursuit from behind temporarily slowed.

"Can we go any faster?" Zhou Ming asked, pulling back into the car.

"This is the limit. This car lasting this long is a testament to its quality."

Yang Zhisheng stomped on the accelerator and shouted, "What do you take me for, the Allspark? Do you want to turn this car into a Transformer?"

"The bridge." Zhou Ming pointed ahead and shouted. "Beyond the bridge is the Cronus Organization headquarters."

"Damn it, the bridge is blocked."

On the bridge ahead, rows of anti-vehicle barriers were stretched across, and car after car of police vehicles almost completely blocked the bridge.

The local police, guns in hand, were ready, prepared to riddle anyone who approached with bullets.

"Clear the way." Yang Zhisheng roared, the car's speed not decreasing in the slightest.

"I'll do it."

Zhou Ming pulled out a rocket launcher from behind, stuck it out the car window, and fired a shot forward.

The rocket flew at extreme speed close to the ground, soared over the crowd from an incredible angle, dove under the police cars blocking the road, and exploded with a roar.

With a deafening boom, several cars were lifted into the air by the rocket exploding beneath them.

This was not the end, but the beginning. As Zhou Ming launched rocket after rocket, roadblocks were blown away, cars blocking the way were overturned, police officers scattered for cover, and the entire bridge was violently cleared.

*Boom!*

Accompanied by the engine's roar, the black lightning-fast car stormed across the bridge and directly into the town ahead.

Chunmu Town, in Sao Country, was unremarkable. Its only special feature was its proximity to Glomo City and convenient transportation.

It was hard to believe that the infamous Cronus Organization of the assassin world was hidden in this ordinary town, within a modest-sized cardboard factory.

The dilapidated black car was spotted by Cronus assassins before it even got close, and its identity was quickly confirmed.

However, just as they were on high alert, about to intercept and kill, the assassins saw the many police cars following the black car.

"Damn it."

Someone cursed under their breath. Faced with so many police, they were momentarily unsure whether they should attack or retreat.

And precisely at this time, several high-ranking members of the organization were unreachable, leaving only these uninformed junior members shouting and cursing in the earpiece communication channel. Clearly, they had already realized something.

*Bang bang bang.*

From the rapidly approaching black car, a sniper rifle extended and fired fiercely, its bullets precisely eliminating several assassins hidden by the windows at tricky angles.

The assassins immediately returned fire. A hail of bullets flew from the buildings of the cardboard factory, with muzzle flashes everywhere.

These experienced assassins even managed to remain hidden while shooting, so much so that not a single person could be seen from the outside—only bullets suddenly appearing from various corners, forming a rain of bullets that enveloped the black car.

Unfortunately, their plan to wipe out the target with a concentrated volley failed. The electromagnetic field covering the entire car reappeared, and combined with Yang Zhisheng's superb driving skills, the car weaved and dodged, evading some bullets, blocking others, and continuing its charge unscathed.

*Boom!*

Zhou Ming seized the opportunity, firing a rocket that blew open the factory gate. The car rushed into the factory without obstruction.

In that instant, Zhou Ming felt boundless malice surge from all directions, stimulating a slight tingling sensation all over his body. A mental image of himself being riddled with countless bullets in the next moment formed in his mind.

This immense sense of crisis—enough to make an ordinary person faint with fear—made Zhou Ming tremble slightly all over. He wasn't afraid, but excited. Perhaps his physical constitution was different from that of people in this world, yet at this moment, he still experienced the exhilarating rush of adrenaline.

"This feeling... this feeling is simply making me so excited I could raise a flag."

Zhou Ming roared in his heart. He exchanged glances with Yang Zhisheng, and they nodded slightly. Yang Zhisheng accelerated and swung the car's tail, rapidly approaching a factory building. Zhou Ming kicked open the car door, using the centrifugal force of the car's sideways swing to propel himself out, leaping horizontally into the factory building.

"The slaughter begins."

Yang Zhisheng reached back for the box of grenades, a bloodthirsty smile spreading across his face. The tires screeched on the ground as the car executed a wide U-turn. Without any pause, it charged like an unbridled wild horse, grenades flying everywhere.

*Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!*

Explosions erupted one after another, echoing throughout the factory as the black lightning-fast car weaved through it.

Shrapnel flew, thick smoke billowed, shattered glass and broken machine parts were everywhere, occasionally mixed with blood, flesh, and wails—those were the unlucky assassins who couldn't dodge in time and were injured or killed by the explosions. The entire factory was in chaos.

Although the power of these grenades wasn't enough to achieve a carpet-bombing effect, they still caused enough commotion and disruption.

Whether it was the assassins hidden in the factory or the police rushing in from outside, everyone was in disarray, firing wildly, engaging in fierce exchanges, and clashing in a free-for-all. Gunshots, explosions, and screams were everywhere. The once-peaceful factory had instantly transformed into a brutal battlefield.
