Amara didn't sleep that night.
She kept staring at the ceiling, replaying Daniel's message over and over again.
"There are things we need to talk about."
He always had things to talk about , just never when it mattered.
By morning, she had already made up her mind.
She was going to the wedding.
Not because she wanted closure.
But because she needed proof.
Proof that she was truly over him.
Her phone rang.
It was Tolu.
"Don't tell me you're crying over that man again," Tolu said immediately.
"I'm not crying," Amara replied.
"You sound like someone who is lying."
Amara sighed. "I'm going to his wedding."
Silence.
Then Tolu screamed.
"ARE YOU MAD?!"
"I need to do this."
"No, you don't. What you need is therapy and shawarma."
Amara laughed despite herself.
"Tolu, I need to see him move on… so I can move on."
Tolu paused.
"Or you'll fall back in love with him," she said quietly.
Amara didn't respond.
Because she didn't know.
