Chapter 26 - Chapter Twenty-Six: The Animagus Ascension

The room was quiet, the only sound the faint rustle of magic in the air. The waiting period had tested my patience, but now the moment had arrived.

At sunrise, I raised my wand to my heart and whispered the sacred words: "Amato Animo Animato Animagus." The warmth of magic spread through my chest, doubling with each repetition. At sunset, I repeated it again, the ritual imbuing my blood with the essence of the transformation. Every sunrise and sunset was a measured pulse in the symphony of my ambition.

Finally, the storm arrived. Lightning tore across the sky, jagged and violent, striking near the castle and casting long shadows across the stone floors. I brought the phial of crimson potion to my lips, repeating the incantation one last time.

The mixture turned blood-red, writhing with power. Pain exploded through me, a double heartbeat that throbbed in every vein, but I gritted my teeth and endured it. My body shrank, twisted, and reshaped itself.

When the transformation was complete, I rose on the forest floor—not as a boy, but as a creature of sleek, lethal perfection. My scales were black as midnight, my eyes glinting with the cunning intelligence that had always defined me. My tongue flicked out, tasting the air. I was an Inland Taipan—the world's deadliest snake.

Even as a snake, I understood the irony: my venom could kill over a hundred men with a single strike, yet the creature itself was naturally reclusive, intelligent, and measured. Just like me. My mind raced through possibilities. My newfound form granted me stealth, freedom, and an aura of danger unlike anything I had wielded before.

I imagined myself smiling. My scales glinted in the moonlight as I slithered silently, considering how best to leverage this new power. Abraxas and the inner circle would be awed when they learned of this, though I would keep it hidden for now.

I was no longer merely Tom Riddle, the boy genius, the dark prodigy. I was a predator in every sense—silent, calculating, deadly—and now armed with the power of one of the most venomous creatures on Earth.

This was more than mastery; it was evolution.

And I intended to use it to bend the wizarding world to my vision.
