She sighed "I didn't expect this."

distinctive beauty mark resting just beneath her lower eyelid, Her lips, naturally flushed a pink-coral, she wore medical uniform that complemented her athletic, hourglass, The fabric of her white coat remained unbuttoned, rivaling Crystal choi's beauty.
And the moment she saw everyone gathered
She sighed.
Vasco stood up immediately "How is he?!"
Nari rubbed her forehead "Alive somehow."
"Though I genuinely don't understand how."
Everyone became silent.
She flipped through the chart "His ribs are shattered."
"His jaw was broken."
"One arm fractured badly."
"Internal bleeding everywhere."
She looked genuinely exhausted "It'll probably take two or three days before he regains consciousness."
Then she stared toward Hyunjin's room.
A look of disbelief crossing her face "This is the fifth time he's come here like this."
"What kind of life is that guy living?"
Nobody answered.
Because honestly, they didn't know either.

Gun sat calmly in a chair, bandages wrapped around his torso and shoulder.
Across from him sat Goo Kim and Charles Choi.
Goo burst out laughing loudly "HAHAHAHA!"
He pointed at Gun dramatically "You got injured by some random bum?!"
Gun looked at him lazily "He wasn't a bum."
Then his grin returned "He was a diamond, It's a shame that he lack experience."
Goo rolled his eyes immediately "Yeah, yeah, whatever."
He started yapping.
Gun ignored him completely.
Charles Choi quietly read the files placed before him.
Page after page.
Information about Hyunjin.
Then
Charles eyes widened slightly.
A rare reaction.
Gun noticed instantly "What is it?"
Charles slowly lowered the paper.
His gaze hardened "This boy.."
Another page turned.
Then Charles became silent for several seconds.
Even Goo noticed now "What's in there?"
Charles looked back at the file again.
Then finally spoke "If this continues.."
His eyes narrowed "He may become something even we can't control.."
Silence filled the room instantly.
Goo was curious about Hyunjin information now.

(Two Days Later)
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
The sound of the monitor echoed inside the room.
Hyunjin's eyes slowly opened.
The ceiling lights looked blurry at first.
His body felt heavy, little pain spread through nearly every part of him the moment consciousness returned.
"Tch." He slowly pushed himself upward.
His ribs screamed in pain instantly.
Bandages wrapped tightly around his torso and arm.
His jaw still slightly aching.
A smile appeared on his face.
He had grown slightly stronger.
Hyunjin sat quietly near the hospital bed, fingers running through his messy hair.
Then he sighed.
His eyes narrowed slightly.
Even after fighting Gun,.after pushing himself beyond limits.
He still couldn't evolve completely.
No mastery.
Nothing major.
Which meant only one thing.
His ceiling.. was absurdly high.
"I probably need Gun going all out.."
The door opened.
Doctor Nari walked in holding a clipboard.
"Finally awake?"
Hyunjin smiled "Looks like it."
Nari crossed her arms immediately "This is our fifth meeting now."
"Should I reserve you a permanent room at this point?"
Hyunjin chuckled "Yeah, maybe."
But unlike before, Nari didn't smile back.
Her eyes drifted toward his injuries.
The heavy bandages.
Then she turned away slightly.
Clearly upset.
Hyunjin noticed immediately.
As she started walking toward the door
He gently grabbed her wrist.
Nari stopped, slowly turning back toward him.
Hyunjin looked directly into her eyes "Sorry."
"I broke your promise."
The memory returned instantly.
The fourth time he came to the hospital
She had gotten genuinely angry at him.
Told him to promise her he wouldn't come back half-dead again.
And surprisingly Hyunjin actually promised because their relation was great.
But, now he came back even worse than before.
Nari puffed her cheeks slightly in frustration "You really can't keep promises."
Hyunjin slowly stood up despite the pain.
Tall, 185 centimeters.
Towering slightly over Nari's 165-centimeter frame.
The height difference made her instinctively look upward.
Hyunjin stared at her "I really didn't mean to break it."
For a few seconds, Nari stayed silent.
She sighed deeply "Fine."
A small smile appeared on her face "I accept your apology."
Hyunjin smiled back faintly.
Then Nari suddenly added "Your friends are good people."
"They came every day while you were unconscious."
Hyunjin blinked.
She nodded "And another guy came too."
A teasing smile appeared on her face now "A very cute one."
Hyunjin instantly rolled his eyes "What's his name?"
"Messy hair, cold eyes."
"Johan." Hyunjin immediately understood.
Then Nari looked down toward her wrist still in his hand "Could you release my hand now?"
Hyunjin blinked once.
Then immediately let go "I didn't notice."
Nari laughed softly "Clearly."
Then she walked toward the door "Don't destroy your body again."
Before leaving completely.
A few moments later
The door opened again.
Johan entered quietly, wearing his usual black outfit.
Hands in pockets, expression calm as always.
Hyunjin smiled "You came."
Johan pulled a chair forward and sat in front of him "I already joined you."
"So I don't really have anywhere else to go now."
Hyunjin chuckled, then looked at Johan seriously "Don't worry."
Johan raised his eyes.
Hyunjin continued calmly "Your mother's surgery, It'll happen within a week."
Johan froze.
His eyes widened slightly.
Then slowly, they became watery.
For the first time in a long while
The pressure crushing him loosened slightly "Really?"
Hyunjin nodded "Yeah."
Johan lowered his head briefly.
His voice quieter now "Thank you."
Hyunjin extended his hand toward him "We're together now."
A small smile appeared on his face "So let's start properly."
"As friends."
Johan stared at the hand silently for a moment.
Slowly, he reached forward too.
And shook it.
