Woo Manyeo immediately lowered his head, taking the hint.
He could sense that although the oppressive aura from this "battle-damaged goat guy" was not as overwhelming as the one from earlier, killing him would still be as easy as a flick of the hand.
In front of him, Woo Manyeo had absolutely no ability to resist.
This kind of perception seemed to be a unique instinct belonging to demons.
It was an ability to sense the difference in power between beings of the same kind.
He was led out of the room by the one called Astarion.
Along the way, bits of stone crumbled from the walls.
The ground was littered with all sorts of debris, unidentifiable bones and dark red-black stains everywhere, like blood that had dried who knew how many years ago.
After bringing him outside, Astarion said only one sentence, "Wait here for a summons."
Woo Manyeo waited for thirteen days.
Yes.
There was only one "outside" in all of hell.
He seriously suspected that the entire hell consisted of nothing more than that single room from before.
All the demons lingered in this "outside"—a barren, desolate expanse beneath a dim, blood-colored sky, filled with jagged, grotesque rocks doing absolutely nothing.
The older demons either lay down or leaned against things, each one looking like a corpse.
If they didn't occasionally turn over, he would have thought they were all dead!
Every single one of them, dead demons!
And yet, for something called "all demons," there were only a scattered few, less than a thousand in total.
Woo Manyeo took a deep breath.
This was supposed to be hell, what on earth had it gone through to end up like this?!
He had never worked in a company with such terrible conditions!!!
The operational efficiency was abysmal and the employees were lazy and completely lacking in responsibility.
These people—no, these demons—what exactly were they even doing?!
That very day, Woo Manyeo couldn't hold it in anymore.
After becoming more or less familiar with the area, Woo Manyeo walked over to a demon lying on the ground and crouched beside him.
On the surface, he appeared extremely respectful as he asked, "Excuse me, senior, do you know when we'll be summoned?"
The demon sized Woo Manyeo up. "Newly transformed?"
"Yes. Today is my first day as a demon."
Woo Manyeo maintained a respectful attitude because he could sense, deep within his soul, the gap in strength between himself and the other demons.
Precisely because of this, he was eager to grow stronger.
The pride he carried as the king of overachievers made him determined that even as a demon, he would become the strongest one!
The demon casually raised a hand and pointed at a stone frame standing in midair. "When that lights up, it means a human is summoning a demon. We can go out and make deals with them. If you're too bored, you can also squeeze through while you're at it and go play in the human world, but you won't be able to stay long before human priests notice and drive you back."
