Chapter 10 - The Price Was Made Up

He never expected that his soul could be exchanged for several million, even tens of millions.

With that much money, it would be enough for their family to live for several lifetimes!

He could buy a luxury house, buy sports cars, and set up education funds for his three children.

That would be more than enough.

For the rest of his life, he could travel everywhere with his wife!

"I agree! I agree! May I ask, Lord Demon, how do I make the deal?"

Diomedes took out a sheet of parchment and a feather quill. "Sign your name, and you will receive thirty million. In ten years, we will come to collect your soul."

"Ten years?"

"Yes. What else did you expect? Do you think thirty million is that easy to obtain? What do you think we are, angels?"

Enzo's previously joyful mood immediately faded by more than half.

He was only 42 this year.

After making the deal, he would only have ten years left to live. That meant he would die at 52.

He would not even live to see his third child grow up.

But if he did not make the deal…

The house would be taken away and his whole family, including his pregnant wife… would they have to sleep in the car and become homeless?

And what about the children?

If he made the deal, then the enormous tuition fees for his three children's future university education would no longer be a concern.

Another cold wind blew past.

Enzo shivered and pleaded in a trembling voice, "C-can you add a little more money?"

Diomedes pondered for a moment. "Hmm… 32 million. I'll throw in an extra two million as a gesture of goodwill. How about that? I'm quite generous, aren't I?"

"That's wonderful, really wonderful! You are the most generous and kindest person, no, demon, I have ever met. I truly thank you. You have changed everything and saved my family from ending up on the streets!"

Enzo repeatedly bowed and expressed his thanks while stumbling over his words as he offered flattery.

He had never expected that the demons of legend would be so kind and considerate.

Not only did they not attack him, they even gave him an extra two million.

Two million was already no small amount!

In Brithelm, a millionaire was already quite rare.

Was he really about to become a multimillionaire?

Ten years, then so be it.

As long as his wife and three children could live happily for the rest of their lives, what did it matter if he only had ten years left?

Living ten years as a wealthy man was far happier than living a lifetime in poverty.

He kept persuading himself in his heart as he trembled and signed his name on the parchment.

After Enzo left, Woo Manyeo respectfully asked for guidance. "Senior, may I ask how you determined the value of his soul?"

"Of course I just said it casually. Human souls are all about the same. Most of them are gray and chaotic."

"Then… the 32 million?"
