Chapter 21 - The Deal Spreads

"Why, why would she leave it to me? No, why would she even think of me?"

"I don't know. She didn't have a good relationship with her children. She donated the rest of her property and didn't leave anything to them. Who knows why she suddenly gave it to you. But that's not important. What matters is that you received the money. Congratulations. You really are a lucky man."

Lucky?

He had not been lucky for a long time.

Even long after hanging up the phone, his mind was still in a daze.

That relative was his mother's uncle's half-sister from the same father.

The blood relation between them was extremely distant.

How could she possibly transfer money to him before dying.

But when he thought about the fact that the one he had made a deal with was a demon, everything suddenly made sense.

Kivan returned to the familiar spot.

The few men from earlier had already been waiting there for a long time and there were even more familiar gamblers gathered around.

"Brother, you're still alive?"

"What's going on? What exactly was that woman?"

"Did you get the money? Where's the money? Where's the money!"

"Is what they said true? Can you really receive money?"

"…"

Kivan swallowed his saliva and stared fixedly at the expectant faces in front of him.

"You all saw him too, right? I'm not dreaming, am I?"

The men had already run out of patience and kept pressing him. "What dream are you talking about? Did you get the money or not!"

Kivan nodded lightly. "I got it. A distant relative suddenly…"

The gamblers gathered nearby all thought that he was working together with the previous men to trick people when they heard such a bizarre story.

But when they saw the balance in Kivan's electronic account, everyone present erupted.

"My god, it's actually real?"

"Is it really real? I don't care if I can only live ten years. I'm already wandering the streets anyway. I'd rather become a millionaire and live extravagantly for ten years!"

"Is that demon still there? I want to go!"

Kivan unconsciously touched the note in his pocket.

That note contained the steps for the demon summoning ritual.

"That little demon said he would wait in that alley for one hour. If anyone wants to make a deal, you can go quickly."

One of the men who had entered the alley with him earlier ran back toward the alley again, followed by several men who wanted to make deals as well as a few who were just there to watch the excitement.

In total, more than a dozen people went.

Everything was real.

He had sold his soul and only had ten years of life left.

For some reason, a strong sense of unwillingness surged in Kivan's heart.

The deal that had seemed worthwhile before suddenly felt not so worth it anymore.

Looking at the casino entrance not far away, he could not help but recall how he had once turned five thousand into millions inside that casino.
