UNHUMAN

In a world that looks like the distant future but feels like the ancient past, power is not a gift. It is a birthright that can get you killed.

Every person in this world carries power within them. Most people's abilities are subtle enough to be called talent. The farmer who grows crops faster than anyone else. The soldier who never falls sick. The scholar who reads a library in a day. These people are considered normal. Ordinary. Human.

But some are born different. Born beyond the Rift — the boundary between ordinary power and something the world was never built to contain. These people can heal the dying, see the future, speak to the dead, move faster than the eye can follow. Their power didn't wait to be developed. It arrived fully formed and overwhelming from the moment they entered the world.

The Akuryō Dominion — the ruling force over twelve clans — calls them cursed. A century ago, something terrible happened. Something that justified, in the minds of those in power, the systematic hunting and erasure of everyone born beyond the Rift. Since then the rules have been simple. Hide what you are or face the consequences.

The consequences are not small.

UNHUMAN follows a group of young people born beyond the Rift who never asked to be extraordinary and never wanted to be hunted. They are not heroes. They are survivors. Running. Hiding. Stealing food. Building something fragile and quiet in the spaces the world forgot to watch.

But the world has a long memory. And the Dominion has never stopped looking.

As this group finds each other — drawn together by circumstance, desperation, and the particular gravity of people who have survived things they shouldn't have — they begin to discover that the world they are hiding from is built on something far more sinister than fear.

The question is not whether they are strong enough to fight back.

The question is whether the truth, once found, is something the world is ready to hear.

And whether belonging is something you find — or something you build from the wreckage of everything that tried to destroy you.
