And somewhere above it all, a goddess named Velara watches the whole beautiful mess with the patient amusement of someone who has already decided how interesting things are about to get.

When a chance encounter pulls Kreil into the orbit of the city's criminal underground, he finds himself navigating a world of shifting loyalties, buried secrets, and violence dressed up in expensive suits. He has no power. He has no allies. He has no reason to survive any of this.
