Chapter 70 - Florian Triangle

Chapter 70: Florian Triangle

After understanding Serie's perspective, Yumesaki gave her an "OK" hand gesture.

"No problem. In the future, no matter what other world I encounter, I'll let you know."

Serie nodded with satisfaction. "In exchange, every time you take me to a new world, I will transfer three spells to you."

"One Piece and Naruto count as two worlds, so I can give you six spells."

"The three from before don't count, and this Clairvoyance counts as one, so you can still learn five more spells from me."

She didn't have much else, but she certainly had plenty of magic.

From the distant past to the present, Serie had mastered so many types of magic that even she could no longer count them all.

Using magic as currency for their transaction was perfect.

Yumesaki thought for a moment and said, "Can I choose flight magic too?"

Flying had been a dream of humanity since ancient times, and Yumesaki was no exception.

Mastering flight meant being able to soar through the skies at will; it was a wonderful thought.

"You can," Serie said. "That leaves you with four more choices."

Yumesaki shook his head. "I don't have any other needs for now. Can I save them? I'll come find you if I need something later."

"Fine," Serie nodded. Then, through magic transfer, she bestowed the flight spell upon Yumesaki.

Yumesaki mastered the spell instantly. As he cast it, his body floated weightlessly into the air, allowing him to move and fly as he pleased.

So this is flight magic. How interesting.

With this spell, Yumesaki felt his sense of security increase significantly.

The two chatted for a few more sentences before Yumesaki bid Serie farewell, pulled open an Air Door, and returned to the world of One Piece.

Standing on the deck of the sailing ship, Yumesaki cast the Clairvoyance magic.

In that moment, Yumesaki felt his vision extend to a place far, far away.

With ease, he saw Water 7. He saw Mayor Iceburg, and he also spotted the mayor's secretary, Kalifa.

At that moment, Kalifa seemed to be speaking to someone over the phone.

Unfortunately, Clairvoyance only provided visuals; he couldn't hear any sound. Yumesaki didn't understand lip-reading either, so he had no idea what Kalifa was saying.

He withdrew his gaze and looked elsewhere.

Sabaody Archipelago.

On this bustling island, Yumesaki saw bubble after bubble rising from the ground. He saw Shakky's Rip-off Bar, and the former Great Succubus who was currently wiping a glass.

The bar owner, Shakky.

Shakky's eyes flickered, as if she sensed something. She looked around but found nothing.

Yumesaki shifted his gaze to the auction house located in the lawless area of Sabaody. There, he saw the Right Hand of the Pirate King, hiding inside the auction house and currently putting himself up for auction.

The Dark King, Silvers Rayleigh.

Unlike Shakky, who only had a faint feeling, Rayleigh clearly realized someone was watching him.

However, just like Shakky, he couldn't detect who was staring at him. His face was filled with confusion.

Yumesaki's vision continued to move, traveling from Sabaody Archipelago to the Holy Land of Mariejois. His gaze passed over the Five Elders.

The Five Elders felt the same sensation as Rayleigh. One by one, they released their Observation Haki, yet they still couldn't find the person spying on them.

Then, Yumesaki's vision arrived at the Room of Flowers in Pangea Castle, catching sight of the true ruler of the World Government.

Imu-sama.

Imu, who had been resting with closed eyes, suddenly snapped them open. A pair of eyes resembling the Rinnegan stared in one direction.

Yumesaki could feel his gaze seemingly colliding with Imu's.

This was the first person capable of catching the existence of Yumesaki's gaze.

As expected of the final boss of the One Piece world. Truly impressive.

Unfortunately, even though Imu realized someone was watching, it was nearly impossible to catch Yumesaki. Imu didn't have Clairvoyance, let alone the ability to see Yumesaki himself.

A second later, however, a black shadow rose from beneath Imu's feet, blocking Yumesaki's view.

Yumesaki could no longer see Imu.

"Impressive," Yumesaki sighed, and once more shifted his gaze.

This time, he looked toward the Florian Triangle.

This place was shrouded year-round in a thick, oppressive fog. Even a distance of a few meters was enough to lose sight of everything. Due to this fog, hundreds of ships vanished here every year. The ships that were eventually found were nothing but ghost vessels without a single crew member on board.

As such, the mere mention of this place was enough to strike fear into people's hearts.

But anyone who had watched One Piece knew that all these disappearances were the work of Gecko Moria.

When he was young, Gecko Moria had confidently led a crew to Wano Country to challenge Kaido.

The result was a brutal defeat; he was beaten so badly he didn't know which way was up. Aside from himself, his entire crew perished in the battle.

Only Gecko Moria managed to survive.

After that battle, Moria's iron will shattered, and he fled Wano Country in disgrace.

But before leaving Wano, he stole the corpse of Shimotsuki Ryuma and the famous sword, Shusui, then fled to the Florian Triangle to hide.

Saying he was "hiding" wasn't entirely accurate, as Gecko Moria occasionally left the Florian Triangle to search for things outside.

What was he searching for?

Corpses, of course.

Since all his previous subordinates had died in battle, Gecko Moria no longer believed that living people could help him become the Pirate King. Thus, he turned to a very unconventional path.

Playing with giant figures... Zombies.

He collected numerous corpses of powerful fighters, then randomly captured ships that entered the Florian Triangle. Using the powers of the Shadow-Shadow Fruit, he would cut off the shadows of the people on board and insert them into the corpses.

In doing so, he brought those corpses back to life as zombies.

Gecko Moria was convinced that this army of zombies could help him conquer the world, defeat Kaido, and reclaim everything he had lost... but it was impossible.

Despite gathering zombies for years, Gecko Moria had never once gone back to challenge Kaido.

Deep down, he knew that relying on these zombies wouldn't be enough to defeat the Emperor.

But other than these zombies, Gecko Moria didn't know what else to do. He truly couldn't bear the pain of losing comrades again, so he could only force himself to pin all his hopes on his undead army.

In other words, Gecko Moria had essentially given up and become lazy after his flight from Wano.

However, his way of "giving up" had destroyed many happy families and left countless people living in profound misery.

It couldn't be helped; the world of One Piece was fundamentally a world where the strong preyed on the weak, and those with power could do whatever they pleased.

The thick fog of the Florian Triangle was no match for Yumesaki's Clairvoyance magic.

After Yumesaki's vision scanned this sunless stretch of sea a few times, he found what he was looking for.

A ghost ship that had been drifting in these waters for who knew how many years.

And a skeleton, sitting inside that ghost ship, playing the piano.
