Chapter 238 - A Bunch of Useless Trash

Chapter 43: A Bunch of Useless Trash

Upon discovering this, Loki couldn't help but let out a long sigh, almost unable to believe her own eyes.

Seeing Loki looking so completely shell-shocked, Riveria's heart skipped a beat.

The last time she had seen Loki with such a stunned expression was when the main forces of the Hera Familia and Zeus Familia were completely wiped out.

Shortly after that, Loki had teamed up with Freya to drive the retreating remnants of the Zeus and Hera Familias out of Orario.

Recalling Loki's appearance from back then, Riveria's heart began to beat rapidly and unevenly, filled with unease. Forcing herself to remain calm, she opened her mouth and asked, "What happened? Is there something wrong with this Magic?"

Ais, standing off to the side, watched Loki with a tense expression, terrified that Loki was about to deliver terrible news.

Loki clicked her tongue. "It's a bit troublesome, alright. I've never seen this kind of Magic before. There's no way to dispel it in a short amount of time."

Hearing this, though Riveria was more or less disappointed, she still offered words of comfort. "It's fine. According to what that God of Death said, the effect of this Magic only lasts for a week."

"After a week, I should be able to recover on my own."

Loki shook her head and replied, "You don't understand. What I mean is, I have never seen this kind of Magic before."

Riveria mumbled softly, "Magic that can shrink a person is indeed a bit hard to believe..."

Seeing that Riveria still didn't seem to grasp her meaning, Loki cut her off bluntly and firmly. "What I mean is, I have never seen this kind of Magic."

Riveria froze for a moment, then stared at Loki, unable to comprehend what she was getting at.

Loki wore a dead-serious expression, even looking down at her with intense scrutiny as she repeated herself once more. "This isn't any kind of Magic that I know of."

At that moment, Riveria seemed to finally realize something, her pupils trembling violently.

"Loki, you mean..."

"Exactly. This is a Magic that is entirely different from the Magic we use," Loki said.

Ais listened to the exchange, looking rather confused. "Loki, what does that mean?"

Loki explained, "To put it simply, this is a completely brand-new Magic, one that doesn't align at all with the mainstream Magic of this current world. It's an entirely new Magic system."

With her internal suspicion confirmed by Loki, Riveria couldn't help but let out a soft groan.

"How could such a thing even be possible?"

Right now, the Magic used by their adventurers was either bestowed by the gods or developed over generations by Magicians.

However, the source of both types of Magic was identical.

It was Magic born within the exact same framework.

But now, a god had cast a completely brand-new Magic that was entirely divorced from the current mainstream.

This was a bit hard to believe, even absurd.

Even Ais, who usually maintained a blank expression, rarely showed a hint of genuine shock.

"If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I would find it hard to believe too."

Loki narrowed her eyes, her gaze flickering as her brain spun at breakneck speed. Various possibilities popped up, only to be dismissed by her one after another.

Before long, an unbelievable thought surfaced in her mind.

"Could it be... No, no, no, that shouldn't be possible, right?"

"After all, this is just too far-fetched and unbelievable."

Riveria watched Loki, who wouldn't stop pacing back and forth in the grand hall while muttering to herself, her mind completely shrouded in a fog of confusion.

What on earth was this person doing?

"Loki, you're being really weird," Ais then criticized and commented from the side.

Hearing herself get commented on by her beloved Ais, Loki felt as if she had taken an arrow straight to the knee.

"Ais!" she wailed, lunging toward Ais while crying and screaming.

No matter what, she absolutely did not want to be hated by Ais.

Besides, Ais was so beautiful; being hated by her was something she absolutely couldn't accept.

However, Ais had anticipated this exact behavior long ago. The moment Loki lunged forward, she tilted her body sideways to dodge.

Loki's lunge missed its mark completely, and with a loud thud, she crashed face-first onto the floor.

"Ais, how could you treat me like this?"

At that moment, Loki felt utterly heartbroken, rolling around back and forth on the floor.

Watching Loki lie on the ground acting like a spoiled brat, throwing a tantrum and refusing to get up, Ais couldn't help but let out a sigh.

The primary god of their home possessed a rather major defect in her brain.

"Enough!"

Right at that moment, Riveria put a stop to Loki's escalating madness.

"Did you figure something out, Loki?" she asked.

Having been loudly interrupted, Loki slowly picked herself up from the floor, then flashed a thumbs-up to the palm-sized Riveria.

"As expected of Mama, your observation skills are indeed sharp. That's right, I did guess a few things, but this matter is just too hard to believe. Even I don't know if my own guess is actually right or wrong."

"What exactly did you guess?"

Riveria was incredibly curious. Although Loki's behavior made her look like she had a massive mental illness, her brain was exceptionally sharp.

Therefore, she desperately wanted to know what exactly Loki had guessed that made even her hesitate to confirm it.

After Loki calmed herself down, she said to Riveria, "A god I've never seen before, and a Magic system I've never seen before—where do you think a situation like this would ever appear?"

Hearing this sentence, Riveria was suddenly struck by a massive shock.

Hearing Loki put it that way, it finally clicked for her as well.

A god Loki had never seen before was already highly abnormal to begin with, and now a Magic system Loki had never seen before had shown up.

Connecting these two things together, an unbelievable answer suddenly surfaced.

"Loki, do you mean... that God of Death isn't a god from Heaven, and isn't someone from this world either?"

"Bingo! That's exactly what I'm thinking."

Loki nodded without a shred of hesitation, then added, "Even though that's what I think, I still feel like this answer is just way too hard to believe."

She couldn't help but cross her arms over her chest, completely ignoring the fact that her chest could be described as a hopelessly sheer cliff, instead pouring her entire body and mind into deep thought.

Riveria snapped out of her shock, then couldn't help but sigh in sheer admiration. "No wonder you couldn't be sure. A god coming from another world... that answer really is a bit hard to believe."

This world had existed from the ancient past until now for an unknown length of time, and the gods alone had lived through hundreds of millions of years.

When the gods were born, no life had even been born in the mortal world yet.

It could be said that life in the mortal world had essentially appeared right under the eyelids of the gods.

Yet in all these hundreds of millions of years, they had never seen a human or a god that originated from another world.

If it weren't for that God of Death using a Magic that had never been seen before, Loki would never have considered it from this angle at all.

Looking back now, that god was indeed incredibly bizarre.

He didn't possess Arcanum, yet he could use Magic. If he were a god originating from another world, then that would indeed explain the various anomalies surrounding him.

However, in the absence of solid evidence, Loki simply could not bring herself to fully believe her own guess from start to finish.

Because this answer was simply too disruptive to everyone's imagination.

Riveria also sank into silence. A god coming from another world... was such a thing truly possible?

If it were true, on what basis was the other party able to cross over from another world?

It was important to note that even Hermes had no way to leave this world to head to another.

Ais looked at the two of them sunk in a dilemma, then tilted her head and said, "Since it's uncertain, why not just go ask the other party? What if the other party is willing to answer this question?"

Riveria froze for a moment. Ah, this... there didn't seem to be anything wrong with that sentence.

Loki's eyes lit up, and she clapped her hands together, saying, "As expected of Ais, that's a fantastic idea! Let's just do that. Instead of us sitting here playing guessing games, it's better to go straight for the target and ask this guy directly."

Riveria asked, "Will the other party even answer?"

Loki stroked her own chin, then couldn't help but flash a deeply sly smile.

"Lately, I don't necessarily need the other party to say it directly from their mouth just to get an answer."

Riveria felt speechless.

Although she didn't know what kind of scheme Loki was cooking up, seeing that smile, Riveria knew that the other party was playing bad tricks again.

Who told this person to be their primary god.

...

Meanwhile, on the other side, Kazuma Yumesaki, who was taking a leisurely stroll through Orario, had no idea that because of a minor piece of Magic, Loki had already begun to suspect his origins.

Right now, he was walking along the streets of Orario when he happened to run into the three women—Esdeath, Mez, and Suzuka—as they were walking out from the Dungeon.

At this moment, Esdeath was covered in fresh blood, walking down the main street without paying any mind to the people around her.

Mez and Suzuka were pretty much the same; their bodies were coated in the fresh blood of monsters, radiating a thick, foul stench of gore.

The adventurers in the vicinity saw the three women and subconsciously backed away to both sides.

Even though everyone lived a life licking blood off the edge of a blade, the Killing Intent radiating from those three was simply too shocking.

Particularly Esdeath.

Having just carried out a massive slaughter inside the Dungeon, the Killing Intent across her entire body had not yet been reined in—or rather, she had absolutely no intention of reining it in at all.

Anyone who caught her gaze would be shaken to the core by that staggering Killing Intent.

One by one, their hands and feet went cold, rendering them unable to move.

It was only natural that the passersby in the area were terrified.

"You guys..."

Yumesaki gently rubbed his temples, then with a wave of his hand, summoned a surge of flowing water, washing over the bodies of the three women and cleansing the blood from them until not a trace remained.

Then, he summoned several fireballs to circle around the three women a few times, baking their wet clothes and hair until they were completely dry.

"Was this battle satisfying enough or not?"

After finishing all this, Yumesaki extinguished the fireballs, then asked with a smile.

Suzuka and Mez stated that they were thoroughly satisfied.

However, Esdeath was not. "Too fragile, those things called monsters."

In her view, although these monsters appeared in vast numbers, not a single one of them could actually put up a fight.

It was highly satisfying at first, but if you cut down too much grass, you would eventually grow bored of it.

It was precisely because it became boring that the few of them had walked out from inside the Dungeon.

"Does this place not have a single person who can fight?"

As she spoke, she glanced toward the adventurers carrying knives and bearing swords on their shoulders, but barely any of them dared to look Esdeath directly in the eye.

"Tch, a bunch of useless trash."
