Chapter 63 - Shocking the Titled Douluo! A Solo Kill Against a Soul Sage?

Chapter 63: Shocking the Titled Douluo! A Solo Kill Against a Soul Sage?

The instant Tree Infant Douluo felt Du Busi's fingers clamp around her throat, raw terror seized her. She could feel the soul power radiating from that massive hand—a force as vast and unfathomable as a raging ocean. It was a terrifying pinnacle of strength she could never hope to reach, even as a Titled Douluo.

Yet, the deep-seated madness inherent to all Evil Soul Masters clawed its way through her despair, twisting her panic into cornered viciousness. She knew the truth. This man had come to save someone; there was absolutely no chance he would let her walk away alive.

"Get lost!"

Tree Infant Douluo shrieked. The corrupted soul power inside her veins surged with chaotic violence. Beneath her feet, her ninth soul ring flared, blinding the wasteland in a blood-drenched crimson light. Her Martial Soul Avatar, the grotesque Mother Tree of Infant Devouring, unleashed an ear-piercing wail. Countless barbed, pitch-black tree roots tore through the earth, thrashing inward from every direction in a desperate bid to crush Du Busi into a bloody pulp.

But Du Busi was not Ju Chui Douluo. He was not a Soul Master who needed to grit his teeth and rely on desperate brute force to survive.

Facing a suicidal final strike that could easily obliterate a Level 92 Titled Douluo, the Master of the Body Sect did not so much as twitch an eyelid. His gaze remained cold, utterly indifferent to the writhing horrors closing in on him.

"How dare the dim spark of a firefly attempt to outshine the moon?"

Du Busi scoffed, the sound rumbling like distant thunder. The emerald-green poisonous fire wreathing his towering frame erupted with catastrophic force.

The barbed roots, boasting near-indestructible durability and terrifying regenerative properties, slammed into the emerald flames. The moment they made contact, the result was absolute devastation. They had met their ultimate nemesis. Instead of healing, the thick vines blistered, withered, and rotted away in a fraction of a second, dissolving into thick plumes of foul, putrid black smoke that hissed against the scorched earth.

Du Busi's right hand clamped down harder, his fingers digging into her flesh. The world-breaking physical strength of a Level 98 Super Douluo flared to life.

In Tree Infant Douluo's terrified gaze, Du Busi refused to give her a single breath to unleash any more of her twisted, grotesque arts. He raised his left palm high, blotting out the sky above her, and brought it crashing down with a suffocating, mountain-crushing pressure.

Bang!

A sickening, wet explosion echoed across the barren landscape. The head of Tree Infant Douluo—a nightmare entity who had terrorized countless innocents and left trails of weeping civilians in her wake—burst apart like a rotten melon beneath Du Busi's palm. Blood and bone fragments scattered, instantly vaporized by the intense heat of his aura. Even her very soul found no escape, utterly eradicated and burned to nothingness under the corrosive bite of the poisonous fire.

A Titled Douluo of the Evil Soul Master path, a calamity in human form, had been swatted out of existence in a single, casual strike.

Stripped of their master's life force, the surrounding pitch-black roots convulsed, withered into dry husks, and crumbled into the dirt. The chaotic wasteland fell into a dead, heavy silence, leaving only the metallic stench of blood and scorched wood hanging thick in the night air.

A short distance away, Ju Chui Douluo sat slumped in the dirt, his massive hammer resting uselessly at his side. He stared blankly at the headless corpse collapsing into the ash. The shock hammering against his ribs defied all description. Just moments ago, he had prepared himself for a gruesome death. Never in his wildest dreams did he expect Du Busi to cross thousands of miles in the blink of an eye, descending upon this desolate battlefield like a wrathful god.

"Sect Master... Du?" Ju Chui Douluo forced himself upright, leaning heavily against the handle of his giant hammer. His chest heaved, his voice ragged and hoarse from exhaustion. "Why are you here?"

Du Busi waved a hand, dispelling the raging green light that wreathed his body. His facial muscles remained tight, his expression dark and thoroughly displeased. He turned his imposing frame toward the injured man, his tone stiff and grating. "Vina and Liu Yuan used a soul tool to send an emergency distress signal to the Heavenly Soul royal family and the Star Luo Empire. That old fool, the Emperor of Heavenly Soul, relayed the message to this old man immediately."

He crossed his thick arms over his chest, his eyes narrowing dangerously. "If it were not for the sake of saving this old man's personal disciple, do you honestly think I would have torn across the continent with such urgency?"

Before Ju Chui Douluo could process that revelation, the sharp, tearing sound of wind breaking echoed from the horizon. Two distinct, overwhelming auras rapidly closed in on their position.

The first figure materialized almost instantly, slipping out from the darkness like a phantom. It was Shadow Douluo, a hidden protector of the Heavenly Soul Empire. From the opposite direction, a brilliant streak of golden light crashed onto the wasteland, sending a shockwave of dust rolling outward. This was Heaven-Propping Douluo, who had arrived at the perimeter just a step earlier.

The moment Heaven-Propping Douluo's boots hit the dirt, his gaze swept the battlefield. He immediately spotted the headless, mangled remains of Tree Infant Douluo pooling blood into the cracked earth. Then, his eyes locked onto the towering, proud figure of Du Busi standing amidst the carnage.

Heaven-Propping Douluo's pupils contracted into pinpricks. He had assumed this was a minor border skirmish. To think it would draw out multiple Titled Douluo, let alone the absolute god of slaughter from the Body Sect himself.

"Sect Master Du, I certainly did not expect to see you grace this place," Heaven-Propping Douluo said, cupping his fists. Despite being a highly respected Level 95 Titled Douluo in his own right, he maintained a strict, careful courtesy. One did not act arrogant in front of a Level 98 Super Douluo known for his volatile temper.

Du Busi had zero patience for political pleasantries. He stepped forward, his massive shadow falling over the golden-clad Douluo. "Where are Vina and Liu Yuan?" he demanded, his voice a low, threatening growl. "What is their condition? I am warning you right now, if either of them has lost so much as a single hair, this old man will tear you all apart!"

Heaven-Propping Douluo stiffened, taken aback by the sheer hostility. He felt a flash of awkwardness at being dressed down so publicly, but he wisely swallowed his pride. "Answering Sect Master Du, Princess Vina has already made contact with the garrison at Dingbei City. She is completely safe and sound."

He paused, searching his memory for the second name. "As for Liu Yuan... I presume you mean the young man with the double pupils who sought refuge alongside her? The two of them are currently under the personal escort of Princess Xu Jiujiu. They are en route to this exact location as we speak."

Hearing that Liu Yuan was unharmed, the rigid tension locking Du Busi's broad shoulders finally loosened. He let out a slow, heavy breath.

Standing to the side, Heaven-Propping Douluo observed this micro-expression, his mind racing with intense curiosity. It made perfect sense for the Heavenly Soul royal family and the Body Sect to place immense value on Vina; she was a princess and a rare talent. But who in the world was this Liu Yuan? Why did the fearsome Sect Master of the Body Sect display a level of anxiety for this boy that completely eclipsed his concern for the Princess?

The thunder of hooves soon broke the quiet of the night. A heavily armored team of elite guards escorted a luxurious, crest-bearing carriage onto the scarred wasteland.

The carriage rolled to a halt, and the heavy wooden door swung open. Princess Xu Jiujiu stepped down first, her posture elegant and composed. Right behind her, Vina emerged, her fingers tightly laced with Liu Yuan's hand. The two youths stepped down onto the bloodstained earth side by side.

The instant Du Busi laid eyes on them, the space around him warped. In a single, untraceable flash, he materialized directly in front of the carriage.

To the absolute shock of the observing Titled Douluo, the Super Douluo completely bypassed the Princess. He rushed straight to Liu Yuan. Those massive, calloused hands—hands that had just crushed a Titled Douluo's skull with overflowing killing intent moments prior—now reached out with awkward, nervous care. He patted Liu Yuan's shoulders, his sharp eyes scanning the boy from head to toe, searching for any hidden injuries.

"You brat, are you alright?" Du Busi demanded, his booming voice tinged with genuine panic. "Are you hurt anywhere? Speak up! I just slaughtered that wretched old hag, but if you've suffered even a scratch, I swear I will personally raze every single Evil Soul Master stronghold within a thousand miles to the ground!"

Liu Yuan looked up at the towering, anxious old man. A rare, quiet warmth flowed through his chest, settling deep within his heart. Despite the chaos of the night, his expression remained perfectly calm, his double pupils reflecting the dim moonlight. He offered a faint, reassuring shake of his head. "I am fine, Master. You do not need to worry."

Only after thoroughly verifying that his precious disciple was completely uninjured did Du Busi finally remember his manners. He turned his massive head, glancing at the young girl standing beside Liu Yuan, and asked in a gruff, muffled voice, "Vina, are you alright as well?"

Vina offered a wry, knowing smile, fully aware of her secondary status in the old man's eyes. She nodded gracefully. "Thank you for your concern, Sect Master. I am unharmed."

Heaven-Propping Douluo watched this entire exchange in silence. The muscles at the corner of his eye twitched uncontrollably. The lingering doubts in his mind were instantly shattered, replaced by a deep, heavy shock.

'Master?'Heaven-Propping Douluo thought, his heart pounding against his ribs.'So this youth with the double pupils is actually Du Busi's personal disciple? No wonder he was ready to burn the world down.'

Princess Xu Jiujiu stepped forward, offering a flawless, respectful salute to the towering man. "Jiujiu greets Senior Du. I have already dispatched the finest healing Soul Master from the Star Luo royal family. They will begin treating Senior Ju Chui immediately."

True to her word, a gentle, restorative light soon washed over the battlefield as the royal healing Soul Master channeled their power. The gruesome gashes and dark bruises covering Ju Chui Douluo's body began to close. Color slowly crept back into his pale, exhausted face. He looked up at Liu Yuan and Vina, his eyes brimming with the heavy gratitude of a man who had narrowly escaped the jaws of death.

"If I managed to keep my life tonight," Ju Chui Douluo sighed, his voice thick with emotion, "it was entirely thanks to the Princess and little friend Liu Yuan securing reinforcements in time."

Vina immediately shook her head. She looked at the seated warrior and spoke with absolute sincerity. "Senior Luo, you give me too much credit. The truth is, our ability to escape tonight lies entirely with Liu Yuan."

She paused, her voice carrying clearly across the quiet wasteland. "If it were not for him single-handedly killing the five-ring Evil Soul Master pursuing us, and then executing that seven-ring Soul Sage-level Evil Soul Master all on his own... I would never have made it to Dingbei City alive."

"So, the thanks truly belong to him alone."

The moment those words left Vina's lips, the entire wasteland plunged into a deathly, suffocating silence.

Princess Xu Jiujiu's polite smile froze on her face. Heaven-Propping Douluo's eyes widened to the point of tearing. Even Du Busi, the god of slaughter, and Ju Chui Douluo, who was mid-treatment, froze completely in place like statues.

Every single powerhouse present suspected their ears were playing tricks on them.

What had Vina just said?

Liu Yuan, a Level 39 Soul Elder, had solo-killed an Evil Soul King and an Evil Soul Sage?

Was the world going mad?
