The guardian remained bowed before me, but its attention had shifted downward, toward the unseen depths far beneath the palace.
Azarus moved closer, his presence immediately grounding the chaos. Authority radiated from him, stabilizing the waters despite the growing disturbance.
"Tidebreakers," he repeated, his voice calm but edged with recognition. "I thought they were erased from history."
"They were sealed," the guardian corrected. "Not destroyed."
A heavy silence followed.I looked between them. "Who are they?"
The guardian's enormous form straightened fully now, its chains gone, ancient power rolling through the chamber like distant thunder.
