Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 – The Wife Who Couldn't Get Pregnant

Christina stood quietly outside the hospital office, her hands trembling as she held the medical report.

The white paper felt heavier than a mountain in her hands.

She had been married to Daniel for three years.

Three years of trying, three years of disappointment, three years of silent pressure from his family.

"Still not pregnant?"

"What's the use of a wife who can't give children?"

"Maybe Daniel should marry another woman."

She had heard those words so many times that her heart had almost become numb.

The doctor's voice echoed in her mind.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Christina. According to the tests, your body is completely healthy. There is no problem from your side."

She froze when she heard that sentence.

No problem from her side?

Then… what did that mean?

Her fingers tightened around the report.

She suddenly felt that something was very wrong.

When she returned home, the house was dark.

Daniel was not home again.

He had been coming home late for the past few months.

Sometimes he didn't come home at all.

Christina sat alone in the living room, staring at the wedding photo on the wall.

In the picture, Daniel was smiling gently, holding her hand like she was the most precious woman in the world.

She laughed softly, but her eyes were full of sadness.

"Daniel… when did you stop loving me?"

At midnight, the door finally opened.

Daniel walked in, smelling of perfume that was not hers.

Christina's heart sank.

"You're back late again," she said quietly.

Daniel looked at her coldly and loosened his tie.

"I'm busy."

Busy?

Busy every night?

Busy enough to forget he had a wife?

Christina slowly stood up and handed him the hospital report.

"I went to the hospital today."

Daniel frowned slightly.

"And?"

"The doctor said I'm healthy. There is no problem with me."

For a moment, Daniel's expression changed, but it quickly returned to normal.

"So?" he said coldly.

Christina looked at him directly in the eyes.

"So maybe… you should also do a test."

The moment she said that, Daniel's face became extremely cold.

"What did you just say?"

"I said maybe the problem is not me."

Suddenly, Daniel laughed coldly.

"You can't get pregnant, and now you want to blame me?"

"I'm not blaming you. I just want us to check together."

But Daniel suddenly threw the report on the table.

"I don't have time for this nonsense."

Christina felt her heart slowly breaking.

She looked at the man she loved for years, and at that moment, she felt like she was looking at a stranger.

She did not know yet…

That this marriage was about to end.

That her husband was about to betray her.

And that one day…

He would regret losing her for the rest of his life...
