Chapter 88 - Chapter 88: Pluton

"A miracle—this is a genuine miracle!!!"

The moment he saw the dead pirate actually come back to life, Morgans became so excited he could barely contain himself. The dead really could be revived—this was unbelievable.

"Lord Rowan, please accept my loyalty."

Morgans dropped to his knees with a thud. He knew perfectly well that he had heard far too many secrets today. There was no way Rowan and his group would just let him walk away so easily.

So deep down, he had already been considering whether he should pledge himself to Rowan to save his own skin.

And now that he had seen Rowan revive the dead with his own eyes, the last bit of hesitation in his heart collapsed. He surrendered without the slightest resistance.

He believed that as long as he showed enough value, Rowan would never abandon him.

Even if he died, Rowan could just bring him back. That was simply too wonderful.

King the Wildfire was tempted too. Following someone who could revive the dead meant never having to fear death again.

But until Kaido himself made a decision, King would not speak up, nor would he presume to influence his captain.

So he simply waited in silence for Kaido's answer.

At this point, Kaido finally understood why Rowan dared to oppose the World Government.

So this was the absurd power he possessed.

Reviving the dead—this was beyond belief.

Didn't that mean that if Rowan wanted to, he could bring back Roger, Rocks, or even Joy Boy from eight hundred years ago?

That was insane.

How many heroes had appeared on the seas over the last eight hundred years? If all of them could be brought back and gathered under Rowan's banner, could the World Government really stand against him?

No. Absolutely not.

Kaido knew full well that the World Government, powerful as it was, was nowhere near strong enough to fight against every legendary figure from the last eight hundred years.

And even if Rowan never revived a single dead hero, once he cracked the secret of Devil Fruits, the army of Devil Fruit users he could create would still be enough to oppose the World Government.

"I understand."

After thinking it over again and again, Kaido made his decision.

"From now on, I'm your man. I can even help you convince Linlin."

"But when the time comes to overthrow the World Government, I'm taking the front line."

The thing he had wanted most in his life was a grand battle. Just imagining the fall of the World Government was enough to tell him that it would be the greatest war possible.

It perfectly matched everything he had ever wanted.

So the vanguard had to be his.

Besides, even if he died, he could just be revived. There was no reason for him to hold back.

"Fine." Rowan nodded.

And just like that, one of the Four Emperors—the Beast Pirates—officially joined Rowan's camp.

Nico Robin was delighted. With Kaido on their side, their odds of overthrowing the World Government had just risen a little more.

Then she turned slightly and looked at Morgans.

"Morgans."

"I'm here, Miss Robin." Morgans responded respectfully. He could see that Robin held a high position in this mysterious group. As expected of the last survivor of Ohara.

"I want to ask you to help me find someone through your information network."

"Who?" Morgans thumped his chest and promised he would handle it perfectly.

Robin said, "A man named Issho. He's blind, and there's an X-shaped scar on the left side of his forehead that extends over both eyes."

"He's tall, wears a lavender kimono tied with a dark purple sash, has a purple scarf around his neck, white guards on his hands, bandages wrapped around his arms, and wooden sandals on his feet."

"Most importantly, he's a gambler, and most likely spends his time in casinos."

"Can you find him?"

Morgans thumped his chest again. "Of course. The information you've given is very detailed, Miss Robin. I can find him within a week."

"But I am curious—what's so special about this man named Issho?"

Robin nodded. "He's a great swordsman. He carries one of the Supreme Grade blades, the gambler's blade, and he's also the user of the Paramecia-type Press-Press Fruit."

"His strength is more than enough to qualify him for the rank of Admiral."

Morgans understood immediately. If they wanted to overthrow the World Government, the more top-tier fighters they had, the better. If they could bring in someone strong enough to match an Admiral, that would be an enormous gain.

Morgans decided on the spot that he would find this man named Issho as quickly as possible.

But before that, there was one thing he still wanted to know.

Could he publish the news of Kaido's defeat, or not?

In Morgans's eyes, that was undoubtedly a huge story.

He wanted more than anything to tell the entire world.

After all, he was the kind of man who felt physically uncomfortable if he didn't make some massive headline.

But now he had joined Rowan's camp, and Kaido had joined Rowan's camp too. That meant they were now on the same side.

If he published the story, that would be stabbing a comrade in the back.

But if he didn't publish it, he felt like he was going to explode from holding it in.

In the end, Morgans decided to ask Rowan directly.

Rowan shook his head. "Kaido is a comrade now. Don't do anything reckless with that."

"I understand."

Morgans nodded and accepted it.

Seeing how miserable he looked holding it in, Rowan couldn't help laughing. "Tell you what. That news can't go out, but I can give you a different story—one big enough to make your headline."

Morgans hadn't expected a surprise like that, and his eyes lit up immediately. "What story?"

Rowan smiled and said, "That, you'll have to ask Robin."

Morgans turned his shining gaze on Nico Robin. As the last survivor of Ohara, and someone who had clearly been in Rowan's camp for quite a while and held a high position there, maybe she really did have some huge piece of inside information.

Robin laughed softly. She wasn't stupid. The moment Rowan pushed this onto her, she immediately understood what kind of bombshell he wanted her to drop.

"It's really not that big a deal," she said. "You know where Crocodile is right now, don't you?"

Morgans nodded. "In Alabasta. That guy seems to have picked up the title of hero over there."

At that point Morgans couldn't help sneering.

A pirate becoming a kingdom's hero—no matter how you looked at it, that was like a fox paying respects to a chicken coop. There was definitely something rotten behind it.

And now that Robin had brought up Crocodile, could it be that she knew the truth behind what he was doing there?

Seeing the shock and delight on Morgans's face, Robin nodded. "That's right. I know exactly why Crocodile is doing all of this."

"It's for Pluton."

"Pluton? Who, Dark King Rayleigh?"

"Of course not. I mean Pluton—one of the three Ancient Weapons!"
