Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: A Dangerous Beginning

The door closed behind Arjun with a soft click.

But the silence that followed was anything but soft.

It was heavy.

Sharp.

Filled with unspoken tension.

Riya stood still in the center of the room, her heartbeat slow but steady. She didn't look away. Not even for a second.

Because she knew—

The real game had just begun.

---

Arjun took off his coat calmly, placing it aside with practiced ease.

His movements were controlled.

Every action deliberate.

Every step calculated.

Then he looked at her again.

This time, more carefully.

As if trying to peel away every layer she was hiding behind.

"You're brave," he said.

Not as a compliment.

As an observation.

Riya raised an eyebrow slightly.

"And you're calm," she replied.

A faint pause.

Then—

"Too calm," she added.

---

Arjun walked closer.

Slowly.

The distance between them disappeared again.

"Most people would be terrified right now," he said.

"Are you?" she asked.

Their eyes locked.

For a moment—

Neither spoke.

Then Arjun smirked faintly.

"No."

---

Riya crossed her arms.

"Good," she said.

"Because I'm not either."

---

Silence again.

But this time—

It felt different.

Charged.

Like two opponents studying each other before the first strike.

---

Arjun stepped past her, walking toward the large window.

The city lights reflected in the glass.

Cold.

Distant.

Just like him.

"You created a scene today," he said.

Riya turned slightly.

"I achieved what I wanted," she replied.

"And what was that?" he asked.

Riya didn't answer immediately.

Instead, she walked closer.

Stopping just a few steps behind him.

"To get everyone's attention," she said.

"And now you have it."

---

Arjun turned.

His gaze sharp.

"Attention comes with consequences," he said.

Riya smiled slightly.

"I'm counting on it."

---

That answer—

Made something shift in his expression.

Not anger.

Not annoyance.

Interest.

---

"You don't fear consequences," he said.

"No," she replied.

"I create them."

---

A long silence followed.

Arjun watched her carefully.

Trying to understand.

Trying to figure out what game she was playing.

Because this—

This wasn't normal.

---

"Let's make one thing clear," he said finally.

Riya tilted her head slightly.

"I'm listening."

---

"This marriage," Arjun continued, "means nothing to me."

His tone was calm.

Cold.

Absolute.

---

Riya's expression didn't change.

"Same," she replied instantly.

---

Arjun's eyes narrowed.

"You're lying," he said.

Riya chuckled softly.

"And you're pretending."

---

That hit.

Not hard.

But enough.

---

Arjun took a step closer.

"So what do you want?" he asked.

Riya met his gaze.

Direct.

Unflinching.

"Time," she said.

---

"Time for what?"

Riya smiled again.

"You'll find out."

---

That answer—

Only made things more complicated.

More dangerous.

---

Arjun exhaled slowly.

"Fine," he said.

"But don't cross your limits."

---

Riya stepped even closer.

Now only inches apart.

"And what if I already have?" she whispered.

---

Their breaths mixed.

The air between them tightened.

For a second—

It felt like something else might happen.

Something unexpected.

---

But Arjun stepped back.

Breaking the moment.

---

"Get some rest," he said.

"Tomorrow, things change."

---

Riya frowned slightly.

"What do you mean?"

Arjun turned away.

"You'll see."

---

The next morning—

The mansion was already alive.

Staff moving.

Voices low.

Energy different.

---

Riya walked downstairs.

Her eyes scanning everything.

This place—

It wasn't just a house.

It was power.

Control.

A kingdom.

---

"Good morning, ma'am," a maid greeted.

Riya nodded slightly.

Still adjusting.

Still observing.

---

Then—

A voice.

"You seem comfortable already."

Riya turned.

Rohan stood there.

Watching her.

His expression dark.

Filled with anger.

---

"Not really," she replied calmly.

"Just getting started."

---

Rohan stepped closer.

"You think this is a game?" he said.

Riya smiled.

"No," she replied.

"This is revenge."

---

His eyes widened slightly.

Then narrowed.

"You're playing with fire," he warned.

Riya leaned closer.

"And you burned my world first."

---

Silence.

Heavy.

Personal.

---

Rohan clenched his fists.

"You won't win," he said.

Riya's voice dropped.

"I already did," she replied.

"And this…"

She looked around.

"…is just the beginning."

---

"Stay away from my father," Rohan snapped.

Riya laughed softly.

"Too late," she said.

"I'm already his wife."

---

That sentence—

Was a weapon.

And she used it perfectly.

---

Rohan stepped back.

Furious.

But silent.

Because he had no move left.

---

From the balcony above—

Arjun watched everything.

Quietly.

Carefully.

---

His eyes moved between them.

Observing.

Analyzing.

Understanding.

---

Something wasn't right.

Something didn't add up.

---

Riya wasn't just bold.

She was strategic.

Calculated.

Dangerous.

---

And for the first time—

Arjun realized something important.

---

He hadn't married a girl.

---

He had married a storm.
