As she spoke, Jenny turned her attention back to the small fish and shrimp swimming around her.
They came in all sorts of bizarre shapes. Some had flat, plate-like bodies.
Others had a pair of long, upright ears.
When these fish spotted Jenny, they didn't seem scared at all. Instead of fleeing, they actually swam closer and circled around her.
"Wow, these fish are so cute! They're not afraid of people at all!" Jenny exclaimed in surprise.
[Looks like these fish species don't have any natural predators here, otherwise they wouldn't be this bold!]
[Jenny, don't touch them! What if they're poisonous? You'll be done for if you get poisoned!]
Hearing the barrage messages, Jenny quickly pulled her outstretched hand back and used the bracelet to scan them instead.
[Ding. Rabbitfish. Small herbivorous fish species with highly developed hearing. Assessment: Non-aggressive, edible.]
"Wow, I found an edible fish right away! Let's check the others!"
Jenny cried out happily and aimed the bracelet at more fish.
[Ding. Dartfish. Shaped like a dart, extremely fast. Assessment: Low aggression, edible.]
[Ding. Bubblefish. A special membrane grows inside its body that can filter seawater into its body cavity, allowing it to store fresh water internally. Assessment: Edible. The membrane can serve as a natural filter for producing pure water.]
"Produce pure water! Yoho!!!"
Jenny cheered excitedly. "This bubblefish is super useful! It's edible and can make fresh water too!"
"In that case, sorry about this, bubblefish!"
Jenny reached out and instantly grabbed the nearest bubblefish, then stretched again and caught a dartfish swimming nearby.
"Haha, these fish are so dumb! I caught them in one go!" Jenny said excitedly.
"Oh no, I forgot to bring the backpack!"
She could only hold one fish in each hand as she quickly swam back to the escape pod.
But at this moment, Jenny suddenly faced another problem.
"Still… how am I supposed to eat these fish? I can't just eat them raw, right?"
Looking at the two live fish still flopping around in her hands, Jenny frowned.
[Jenny, what are you thinking? Let me remind you again, this is a game. Even if you wanted to eat them raw, you couldn't!]
[Exactly. Raw or cooked fish makes no difference. You can't actually eat anything!]
[Just do an eating motion and it should count as eaten!!]
"Yeah, that's true." Hearing the barrage, Jenny snapped out of it. She had subconsciously treated everything like the real world again.
She couldn't help it. The two fish in her hands looked way too realistic on the outside, and the slippery, heavy feeling in her palms really didn't feel like a game at all.
Since that was the case, there was no need to overthink it.
She picked up the dartfish and brought it straight to her mouth.
"Beautiful girl, eating fish raw may lead to certain illnesses," Gaia's voice suddenly rang out.
"Then how else am I supposed to eat it if I don't eat it raw?" Jenny asked in confusion.
"Naturally, it needs to be cooked," Gaia replied.
"Where am I supposed to get the conditions for that?" Jenny spread her hands helplessly.
"Have you forgotten that the escape pod is equipped with a portable 3D printing platform?" Gaia's said. "It's stored inside the escape pod's storage cabinet."
"There's something like that?" Jenny was stunned again. She quickly stood up and started searching.
After looking around, her gaze landed on the backpack-like object in the storage cabinet.
At first she had thought it was just a backpack, but now that she looked closer, the thing was perfectly square and felt like it was made of some kind of metal. This had to be the 3D printing platform Chang'e mentioned.
"What can this thing do?" Jenny asked.
"Using 3D printing, thermal energy, and various other technologies, it can turn collected materials into all kinds of items," Gaia's answered.
"Then how does it cook?" Jenny asked dumbly.
"Leave it to me. I'll activate the cooking function for you," Gaia said.
The next moment, the bracelet on Jenny's wrist flashed. The backpack-shaped printing platform automatically unfolded.
Several fly-sized micro-robots flew out from inside and circled the dartfish, firing several beams of light.
Almost instantly, Jenny caught the fragrant aroma of grilled fish!
[It's already done?!]
[Holy shit! What kind of black tech is this?]
[Instant cooking without even needing fire!!]
Amid the water friends' chorus of amazement in the livestream room, a perfectly grilled dartfish was ready.
"This cooking technique automatically removes the skeletal structure, bodily fluids, and internal organs during processing. Please feel free to eat it, beautiful girl."
"Ahhhh, I want to eat it too! It smells so fucking good!!!" Jenny held the fragrant dartfish in both hands, drooling. "Too bad I can't actually eat it."
"This damn VR platform doesn't even have a taste function you can enable. How annoying!!!"
Damn it, this grilled fish looked so appetizing and smelled so amazing, but she couldn't taste it!
So frustrating!
