Chapter 115 - Chapter 107: Leviathaaaan

Seeing this building, the viewers also made their guesses.

[Looks like this should be the Disease Research Facility!]

[But it looks like it collapsed!]

[This Precursor-style architecture is as creepy and underworld-like as ever!]

"This right here is the Disease Research Facility, the place where the Precursors researched the Kharaa bacterium," Benjamin said. "We can see that this building has already collapsed. There's a breach at the collapsed section, and we can enter through that opening."

As he spoke, Benjamin skillfully piloted the Prawn Suit to the bottom of the collapsed structure. The viewers also spotted the breach, but it was very small, likely only large enough for one person to pass through. The Prawn Suit wouldn't be able to fit.

Benjamin could only eject from the Prawn Suit and swim toward the breach.

"Here lies another piece of the devs' malice! Right below the breach hides an Ampeel. This thing can release high-voltage electricity. If we just swim over, we'll be hit directly by a hundred thousand volts from the Ampeel, and that feeling is extremely unpleasant."

[Ampeel Image:]

Benjamin said, his tone carrying a trace of lingering fear. "So here, we can just use the Stasis Rifle first."

Saying that, Benjamin pulled out the Stasis Rifle, aimed at the breach, and fired a shot. With a bang, a massive energy field enveloped the opening.

Only then did Benjamin swim over and squeeze into the breach. The viewers quickly saw that within the energy field, right below the opening, there was indeed an eel-like creature frozen in place.

This eel looked to be about two meters long, its entire body wrapped in visible electric arcs, emitting sizzling sounds and flashes of electricity.

[This thing looks like a completely different concept from the electric eels we have on Earth!]

[Its entire fucking body is covered in electricity! It feels like if it touches a person, they would die on the spot!!]

[Not just die, I fucking feel like it would char them directly!]

[Benjamin is so skilled it makes my heart ache for him!]

"Just swim past the Ampeel quickly here, it won't chase you!" Benjamin continued. He had finally entered the interior of the Disease Research Facility. However, due to the building's collapse, the inside was flooded with seawater, and the light sources had been destroyed, leaving the interior pitch black.

Benjamin had to take out his flashlight to illuminate the surroundings. The viewers could then see that this was a relatively spacious hall, filled with row after row of massive machines, somewhat resembling an assembly line in a factory.

However, the items placed on these workbenches looked rather familiar to the viewers: octopus-like tentacles, grappling claws, translucent blue bodies... in addition to these, there were also some incomprehensible machines.

"Chat, you guessed correctly. This is the production workshop where the Precursors manufactured the Warpers!" Benjamin's voice rang out. "You didn't expect this, did you? The Warper isn't entirely a biological creature; it's a half-biological, half-mechanical product!"

The viewers suddenly realized the truth.

[I knew the parts on that workbench looked familiar. They're all Warper components!]

[Damn, Warpers are actually mass-produced, and on an assembly line no less...]

[I can only say, as expected of the Precursors. Their method for preventing the spread of disease is truly fucking hardcore. First, they blast you with a giant cannon, and if that doesn't kill you, they send Warpers to hunt you down! So very "gentle"!]

[Haha, Pewdiepie has been going crazy looking for Warper eggs recently but couldn't find them anywhere. Turns out this thing is a robot!]

Right at that moment in the video, Gaia's voice suddenly echoed, "Ding. You have received an extraterrestrial broadcast. Playing now."

Then came the voice of a middle-aged man. "This is the United State Government. Survivor of the Aurora, we have received your distress signal. We have dispatched a rescue spacecraft. However, our spacecraft can only reach the corresponding Phase Gate, so you will need to leave the planet first and rendezvous with our rescue team in space."

"We have sent the blueprints for the rocket you need to build to leave the planet to your onboard computer. Black box data indicates that the data terminal in the Captain's Quarters is still functioning normally. You can attempt to head to the Aurora's Captain's Quarters to download the rocket blueprints. The passcode to open the Captain's Quarters is '67."

The broadcast ended there, and Benjamin's commentary quickly followed. "Did you hear that, Chat? The broadcast we sent before heading to the Aurora got a response. At this point, we can make another trip to the Aurora's Captain's Quarters, download the rocket blueprints, gather the materials, and use the 3D printing platform to build the rocket. Then, we can leave this planet!"

"But before doing that, we have to disable the alien enforcement tower first. Otherwise, even if you build the rocket, it'll just be shot down by the alien cannon once you fly into the air!"

Hearing this, the viewers couldn't help but exclaim in awe:

[Amazing, is the future technology really this strong now? We can just casually build a rocket just like that!]

[And what's a Phase Gate? It sounds super badass!]

[Honestly, I kind of want to try riding the rocket into the sky and getting blasted down by the cannon. It must feel amazing!]

"Alright, let's keep moving forward!" In the video, Benjamin's voice sounded again. He swam past the Warper production workshop. After passing through a corridor, an incredibly spacious hall appeared before him, filled with all sorts of Precursor equipment.

"Chat, this is the core area of the Precursor research center. As you can see, there's a ton of research equipment!" Benjamin said. "Unfortunately, I used Gaia to scan all the equipment here, and none of it can be analyzed. So, you guys won't need to waste time scanning them one by one later."

"We'll head straight over here. There's a data terminal here, and right next to it is a Precursor Key."

As he spoke, Benjamin swam to a corner of the hall. Sure enough, a data terminal was sitting there, with another Precursor Key resting on the stand beside it.

"We can download the Precursors' research data here," Benjamin said. "This data records how the Precursors forcibly infected the creatures on this planet with the Kharaa bacterium, along with all the various things they documented."

"Let me show you the specific data first."

Saying that, Benjamin instructed Gaia to pull up the data, projecting a list into the empty space.

"Spadefish, died 120 hours after infection."

"Peeper, died 76 hours after infection."

"Gasopod Fish, died 21,676 hours after infection."

"Reaper Leviathan, died 7,982 hours after infection."

"Ghost Leviathan, died 8,770 hours after infection."

"Sea Dragon Leviathan, died 12,310 hours after infection."

[Sea Dragon Leviathan Image:]

This series of data on the list left the viewers astonished.

[Holy crap, these Precursors really don't hold back. They actually dragged every single creature out to test on them!]

[I highly suspect the Precursors have done this on more than one planet!]

[Wait a minute, how did the Gasopod Fish last even longer than a Leviathan?!]

[I didn't expect that even Leviathans would be used for experiments! And they all died!]

[But what exactly is this Sea Dragon Leviathan? We haven't seen one up until now!]

The viewers were very puzzled, but when they looked at the very end, they discovered a pleasant surprise. "Sea Emperor Leviathan. 15,230 hours after being infected, the organism continued to maintain normal vital signs."

"Through continuous experimentation, it was discovered that the Sea Emperor Leviathan is naturally immune to the Kharaa bacterium. The organism is capable of secreting a special enzyme (designated Enzyme 31), which is capable of curing the Kharaa bacterium."

[Sea Emperor Leviathan image:]

"However, the Enzyme 31 secreted by the adult Sea Emperor Leviathan has too low of an activity level and cannot completely cure the disease."

"Establishing a new project. Constructing the Sea Emperor Containment Facility to assist the Sea Emperor Leviathan in hatching its offspring, utilizing the Enzyme 31 secreted by the offspring to cure the Kharaa bacterium. This facility was built in the Lava Castle at a depth of 1,600 meters."

"Do you see this, viewers? From this data, we can learn that the Precursors found the key to curing the disease in the Sea Emperor Leviathan. So, what we need to do now is head to the Sea Emperor Containment Facility."

Saying that, Benjamin casually picked up the Precursor Key next to it. "And this thing right here is the key to opening the Sea Emperor Containment Facility!"

[A depth of 1,600 meters, this is getting scarier and scarier!]

[And this Sea Emperor Leviathan name sounds incredibly domineering! It couldn't be some super final boss, right?!]

[Maybe it's even more terrifying than the Ghost and the Reaper?!]

The viewers speculated wildly among themselves, but then Benjamin suddenly spoke up again. "Pay attention!"

The moment his words fell, a loud hum rang out, and everything around them slowed down, as if time had stopped.

Next, the mysterious giant creature appeared once again, and that intellectual, older-sister-like voice echoed out once more. "Come, come find me... I am waiting for you..."

This voice left rippling echoes in Benjamin's ears. A long while later, the hallucination vanished.

The viewers finally realized what was going on.

[I get it now! So the one interfering with our brainwaves was the Sea Emperor Leviathan all along!]

[So that means the Sea Emperor Leviathan has been keeping an eye on us this whole time!]

[Tsk, tsk, who would've thought the Sea Emperor Leviathan was actually an expectant housewife! Erm, wait, fish-wife!]

"Alright then, we can leave the Disease Research Facility now and head to the Sea Emperor Containment Facility." As Benjamin spoke, he made his way out of the area.

"The Sea Emperor Containment Facility is located at the very bottom of the Disease Research Facility. Just keep heading down along the main branch of the Lost River, and you'll find it."

He retraced his steps all the way back to the Cyclops, then continued to dive forward, following the waterfall formed by the Lost River.

Gradually, the viewers noticed that the Lost River ahead was becoming thinner and thinner. Furthermore, the seabed below had begun forming numerous volcanic vents, constantly spewing out white steam like chimneys. "Guys, we're about to reach the volcanic zone. You heard me right, there are several active volcanoes at the deepest part of the seabed!"

Benjamin let out a cheeky laugh. As the Cyclops continued its descent, they could see that the Lost River had completely disappeared, replaced by massive amounts of boiling magma on the seabed below!!!

The boiling magma churned, forming rivers scattered across the seabed. Both the seabed and the rocks were scorched red-hot by the magma, twisting into bizarre clumps that looked incredibly eerie!

At the same time, this boiling magma brought a fierce red glow to this massive space. Even without turning on the lights, they could see everything around them clearly.

"Guys, by the time we reach this point, the ambient temperature around us is already over eighty degrees," Benjamin's warning voice echoed. "And the closer you get to the seabed below, the higher the temperature rises. When you guys play up to this point, absolutely do not exit your vehicle under any circumstances! Either ride in the Cyclops or the Prawn Suit. Even the Seamoth can easily be melted here. If you step outside in person, you'll literally be cooked thoroughly in minutes!!"

[Tsk, tsk, I didn't expect the devs to actually design a zone like this!!]

[This place looks just like a volcanic hellscape!]

[I'm definitely playing this no matter what. This game is so realistic! There aren't many opportunities in life to stand at the mouth of a volcano and enjoy the scenery!]

[But I really didn't expect that playing a game could actually result in me burning to death while underwater!]

[Corroded by strong acid, electrocuted to death by Ampeels, burned alive by magma... the devs are so fucking genius! They thought of every possible way for players to die!]

The viewers in the stream also sighed in awe. Although the devs always loved messing with the players' minds, the visual atmosphere of the games they made was truly beyond reproach.

Right at this moment, Benjamin's voice rang out again. "Chat, look at this. What is this?"

The viewers immediately looked over and saw that Benjamin had piloted the Cyclops near a certain spot on the seabed. And right there, resting silently atop the seabed, was a massive skeleton.

The skeleton looked to be sixty to seventy meters long, and its skull still retained two pairs of giant mandibles...

[Is that a Reaper Leviathan?]

[It really is a Reaper Leviathan's skeleton! Those two pairs of pincers are way too obvious!]

[Damn, how did an apex predator like the Reaper Leviathan die in a place like this?]

The viewers were somewhat shocked, and Benjamin's voice continued to ring out. "I can tell you guys right now, this Reaper Leviathan was eaten as prey."

[Fuck you talking 'bout ngga! That's a bit scary. Something as fierce as the Reaper Leviathan can actually be treated as prey by something else?!]

[Did the Sea Emperor do it?]

[The Sea Emperor is still locked up in the Containment Facility doing postpartum care. It couldn't possibly be her!]

[Then it's the Sea Dragon! Didn't the data from the Precursor Research Facility mention the Sea Dragon earlier!]

[Yeah, that must be it then!]

"Chat, you'll know exactly what it is in just a moment. Because it's extremely dangerous up ahead; there is a terrifying behemoth down here!" Benjamin continued.

"Roar!!!"

Sure enough, a few minutes later, the viewers heard a roar coming from the distance!

This roar sounded majestic and domineering, completely different from the Reaper Leviathan and the Ghost Leviathan. It was like the roar of a fierce tiger!

At the same time, a colossal beast appeared within everyone's line of sight.

This giant beast was primarily dark green all over. Its crocodile-like body was covered in tough scales, and its head looked just like the ancient apex predator of Earth, the Tyrannosaurus Rex!

What shocked the viewers the most was its size. It was likely easily over two hundred meters long, vastly exceeding both the Reaper and Ghost Leviathans!

The Reaper Leviathan was probably not even half its length!

As for the Cyclops, to this creature, it was nothing more than a slightly larger toy!
