Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: Confessing the Innate Cursed Technique

"What? A second Innate Cursed Technique!"

Geto Suguru and Miguel's voices rose in unison, and the previously relaxed breakfast atmosphere instantly froze.

Geto Suguru's chopsticks paused in mid-air, his body beneath the black monk's robe leaning forward slightly. As the surprise in his eyes faded, it was quickly replaced by sharp contemplation.

Miguel set down his porridge bowl, his rough palms pressed against the tabletop. His brows were locked tight, and his gaze fixed on Rin with a hint of disbelief. Their reactions were far more serious than Rin had anticipated, as if they had heard news capable of overturning the common knowledge of the Jujutsu World.

Being stared at by the two, Rin's ear tips burned slightly, and he subconsciously clenched the corner of his shirt.

"You mean to say that there are two Innate Cursed Techniques in your brain? And this newly discovered technique is strong enough to replace Cursed Spirit Manipulation and become your core offensive method?"

Miguel spoke first, his tone carrying an unquestionable demand for confirmation. Every word exuded caution regarding the matter of "dual Innate Cursed Techniques," as since records began in the Jujutsu World, no Jujutsu Sorcerer had ever possessed two innate techniques simultaneously.

Meeting their serious gazes, Rin nodded gently.

Geto Suguru and Miguel exchanged a glance, both seeing confusion in the other's eyes.

Geto Suguru withdrew his gaze, his fingertips tapping the table unconsciously, creating a rhythmic sound as he fell into deep thought.

"That's not right. Last time I used Cursed Energy to probe your brain, I clearly only sensed one technique imprint. At the time, we both assumed it was the Sharingan, but if the Sharingan isn't an Innate Cursed Technique..." He didn't finish his sentence, but he had already pointed out the key question.

Seeing the two stuck in a deadlock, Rin took the initiative to speak, explaining the entire process of how he had "mistaken the Sharingan for an Innate Cursed Technique" and never injected Cursed Energy into his brain, which resulted in the innate technique remaining unactivated.

During this time, he concealed the matters of his transmigration and the Divine Tree Space.

As his voice trailed off, the breakfast room fell into silence once again. Sunlight shone through the window, landing on their tense profiles; even the scent of steamed buns in the air seemed to fade slightly.

"So, your Sharingan is not a Cursed Technique, but a special constitutional ability similar to Gojo Satoru's'Six Eyes'?" A moment later, Geto Suguru raised his head, his eyes calm but filled with an inquisitive intensity.

"Only then can we explain its unique nature—using the eyes as a vessel, its ability to evolve, and its capacity to devour Cursed Spirits. After all, conventional Cursed Techniques would never exhibit such behavior that defies the principles of Jujutsu."

"Correct," Rin nodded in response.

"That makes sense!" Miguel slapped the table suddenly, his rough palm causing the bowls and dishes to vibrate slightly.

"I was wondering before how a Cursed Technique could take the form of an 'eye' and grow stronger by devouring Cursed Spirits. It turns out it wasn't a Cursed Technique at all, but a natural constitutional talent!" His tone was filled with sudden realization, yet he remained serious. "But here's the problem: a constitutional talent of this level would never appear out of thin air. Rin, is there any record of powerful Jujutsu Sorcerers in your family history?"

Geto Suguru picked up the thread, his tone becoming increasingly rigorous.

"According to the laws of the Jujutsu World, talents like the'Six Eyes' are passed down through bloodlines. Since the Sharingan is similar, it must also have a bloodline origin. Among your ancestors, there must have been a top-tier Jujutsu Sorcerer capable of creating such an ability. However, looking through the history of Jujutsu in Japan, there has never been any relevant record. Even among legendary sorcerers from a thousand years ago, there is no mention of anyone capable of controlling such an 'Ocular Technique constitution'."

Both men's gazes focused on Rin again, filled with inquiry and contemplation.

"Wait, Geto, you've forgotten one thing." Miguel spoke suddenly, his tone carrying a hint of certainty.

"Rin is not Japanese. Naturally, you won't find any clues searching through Japanese history.

As soon as these words were spoken, a flash of realization crossed Geto Suguru's eyes. He nodded slowly, and the tapping of his fingertips ceased.

"That makes sense. other countries Jujutsu system is inherently different from ours, and many ancient lineages have never been made public. If the Sharingan is a heritage of an ancient, bloodline, then all our questions can be answered: why it defies Japanese Jujutsu common knowledge, why no one knew of it before, and why Rin can possess both a constitutional talent and an Innate Cursed Technique."

The two exchanged a glance and said in unison, "This must be the truth."

Standing to the side, Rin had already listened in such embarrassment that his toes curled, almost digging a hole in the floor.

Watching the two earnestly deduce the conclusion of an "ancient, bloodline heritage" and finding it increasingly reasonable as they spoke, he couldn't help but feel a mix of amusement and frustration. He couldn't exactly tell them that his "ancestor" was Uchiha Madara and his hometown was the Hidden Leaf Village, could he?

With no other choice, Rin had to bite the bullet, nodding along with their words and responding vaguely, "...Perhaps. I'm not too clear on my family history either."

Seeing this, Geto Suguru didn't press further; it was reasonable for Rin not to know after all these years.

He picked up his chopsticks again, his tone returning to a gentler note, though still serious. "Regardless, do not disclose the matter of your dual Innate Cursed Techniques (constitution + Innate Cursed Technique) to the outside world. The three of us knowing is enough. Next, tell me the specific abilities of your Innate Cursed Technique, and we will re-plan your training direction."

Miguel also chimed in, "Right, tell us first what your new technique can actually do. If it can replace Cursed Spirit Manipulation, it must be something extraordinary."

Rin took a deep breath, suppressing the embarrassment in his heart, and began to explain the abilities of his Innate Cursed Technique in earnest. At least regarding this, he didn't need to weave any more lies.

"Alright, I'll demonstrate it for you." Rin nodded in agreement, but his gaze swept across the living room. In the small space, there were sofas, a dining table, and Nanako's dolls piled in the corner. He immediately added, "But the living room is too small. I haven't fully mastered the power of this technique yet, and it would be bad if I accidentally damaged things. Let's go to the training ground."

Geto Suguru and Miguel exchanged a look and agreed. The chopsticks Geto Suguru had just put down were still resting on the edge of the bowl, and the rag in Miguel's hand was still clenched in his palm. The two simply gave up on cleaning up; to them, Rin's new technique was far more important than tidying up bowls and chopsticks.

"Let's go, to the training ground!" Geto Suguru stood up first, the hem of his black monk's robe sweeping across the dining chair. His steps were hurried yet steady. Miguel followed closely behind, not even having time to untie his apron, his rough face full of anticipation. Rin followed at the end, casually turning off the living room lights. The three walked with hurried steps, moving quickly along the corridor toward the training ground, not even sparing a moment to notice the lingering scent of breakfast in the air.
