Chapter 7 - "The Stealth Leap"

Few minutes later, the train let out a sharp whistle. Steam hissed from its sides, and the iron wheels began to grind against the rails, slowly gaining speed as it headed toward the coast.

"Are you geared up?" Yuna asked, a hint of nervousness in her voice.

Jax didn't answer with words. He looked at her and simply flashed a thumbs-up. "Perfecto," he muttered.

Then, without a second of hesitation, Jax sprinted toward the edge of the cliff and threw himself into the abyss.

He fell with sickening speed, the wind roaring in his ears as the roof of the moving train rushed up to meet him. Just before the impact, Jax slammed his heels together.

Click.

The Magnetic Shoes Dallas had gifted him hummed with a sudden, powerful electrical charge. The moment Jax's boots touched the metal roof, he was instantly pulled downward, his feet snapping to the iron surface with a violent, metallic thud.

Jax straightened up, his jacket billowing behind him like a cape.

Dallas actually got it right this time,"

Jax slammed onto the roof of the 7th section, the impact vibrating through his teeth. Without a second of delay, he pulled up the hood of his white tactical jacket. He pressed the silver button at his throat, and a hum of electricity surged through the fabric.

Suddenly, his physical form blurred and vanished, erased from the sight of anyone watching. "Dallas's gears are deadly, but they are always top-notch," Jax thought, checking his internal timer. Only ten minutes left.

He opened his palm-sized tracker, a green dot pulsing over the 10th section. He clicked a secondary switch, enabling the Thermal Pulse. Red dots bloomed across the screen.

"The thermal signature is catching body heat," Jax whispered. "The conductors are creating high-voltage friction through the lithium veins of the body. A perfect device for scouting."

He counted the enemies: six guards minimum per Section—mostly soldier rank and Grounded-rank. But then, his blood ran cold. In the center of every section sat a Transformer-rank elite.Jax reached the 7th section and saw his opening. Two guards were moving toward the engine, leaving the corner exposed. Jax pulled out a sleek laser pen. With a hiss of concentrated heat, he cut a narrow, circular hole into the roof and dropped silently into a wooden crate inside that section
