Chapter 5 - Domain Expansion x Maximum Technique

At the same time, on the other side, Satoru Gojo calmly watched as Jogo descended from the sky, smashing into the road and causing massive destruction. Then he spoke:

"…Who are you?"

However, Jogo had no intention of answering. Without hesitation, he created a small volcanic crater in the mountain wall beside Gojo and launched a full-force attack.

Scorching magma erupted from the crater, instantly destroying the road beneath Gojo's feet. The crimson glow from the eruption illuminated the surroundings, almost completely dispelling the darkness.

As thick smoke rose into the air, Jogo declared confidently:

"What's this? So the so-called Satoru Gojo is nothing special after all."

From within the smoke, Gojo's voice responded immediately:

"Who did you say was nothing special?"

As his voice echoed, the smoke suddenly dispersed, revealing Gojo standing unharmed.

Only then did Jogo clearly see the situation. Not only was Gojo alive, but the scorching magma hadn't harmed him in the slightest. The magma beneath his feet—and even the magma trying to engulf his body—was being blocked, as if an invisible barrier surrounded him.

"You…"

The excitement on Jogo's face slowly faded. In its place, he recalled the information Mahito had shared before their mission—information that supposedly came from a manga.

At the time, Jogo had dismissed it as nonsense.

But now, seeing it with his own eyes, he had no choice but to admit that Mahito was right.

Mahito had said:

"Satoru Gojo possesses an ability called the Limitless Cursed Technique. Even if something appears close, the distance becomes infinitely extended. Unless you break this technique, it's impossible to truly reach him."

Back then, Jogo had scoffed. He thought such an ability was absurd—nothing more than a delusion caused by reading manga. He had even intended to expose Gojo's so-called invincibility.

But now, he realized he was wrong.

Mahito's information was most likely accurate.

Meanwhile, Gojo was also observing Jogo.

Despite being a Cursed Spirit, Jogo possessed intelligence equal to that of a human. Combined with the terrifying attack from earlier—powerful enough to instantly kill a Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer—it was clear.

An unregistered Special Grade Cursed Spirit…

And judging by his current state, that attack hadn't even been his full power.

If such a being were allowed to wreak havoc freely, he could become even more dangerous than the current Sukuna residing within Itadori.

This realization made Gojo slightly more serious.

But it wasn't just Gojo—Jogo also became serious.

Before setting out, after Mahito had taught them "Simple Domain" and explained Gojo's abilities, he had proposed a bet.

"I know you don't believe me yet. But if your first full-power attack is completely ineffective because of Limitless, then you must follow my plan."

Jogo had responded with disdain:

"Are you stupid? Who could take my full-power attack without a scratch?!"

Mahito smiled and replied:

"There is one—Satoru Gojo. Not only will he be unharmed, but not even a corner of his clothes will be touched."

He even tugged at his own sleeve as he spoke, teasingly.

"Or are you scared? Is that why you don't dare to bet?"

"Bullshit! Fine, I'll bet! But if he isn't completely unharmed like you said, don't ever mention that stupid manga again!"

Without hesitation, Jogo accepted the bet.

Mahito smiled faintly and continued:

"Good. Then listen carefully. If your attack fails, immediately activate Domain Expansion. Then, under the domain's enhancement, use your strongest move—the Maximum Technique."

Back on the battlefield—

Just as Gojo was about to speak, Jogo suddenly formed a hand seal and roared:

"Domain Expansion: Coffin of the Iron Mountain!"

In an instant, both of them were transported into an innate domain resembling the inside of a volcano on the verge of eruption.

Feeling the intense heat and pressure, Gojo remarked:

"Going all out from the start, huh?"

Jogo's immediate use of Domain Expansion did surprise him—but not because he was afraid.

Even though Jogo was stronger than Sukuna at this stage, he still wasn't powerful enough to defeat Gojo alone. After all, Gojo was someone who could stand against Sukuna at his peak.

Still, Gojo felt a hint of regret.

If he had known Jogo would use a domain so quickly, he would have brought Itadori along—to give him a firsthand lesson on how domains work.

But the surprises didn't end there.

A massive shadow suddenly loomed over Gojo.

Jogo had already leapt high into the air, an overwhelming surge of Cursed Energy bursting from his body as he raised his right hand and roared:

"Maximum Technique: Meteor!"

The shadow engulfing Gojo was none other than Jogo's ultimate attack.

In an instant, Gojo understood Jogo's strategy—he intended to use the domain's guaranteed-hit effect to bypass the Limitless technique.

A Domain Expansion combined with a Maximum Technique…

So this was all planned.

But could a mere Cursed Spirit really come up with something like this?

Before Gojo could think further, the meteor—enhanced by the domain's guaranteed-hit effect—had already reached him.

The attack connected the moment it was unleashed.

That was the terrifying nature of a domain.

Watching the massive meteor descend, Jogo muttered repeatedly:

"Die… die!"

This time, Gojo did not activate his own domain.

Since Itadori wasn't with him, he chose a more direct—and more violent—solution.

"Hollow Technique: Purple."

Because part of the meteor had already collided with the ground, the resulting explosion drowned out Gojo's voice. Jogo only felt a terrifying surge of Cursed Energy erupt within the domain.

"How is this possible…?"

In the next instant—

The massive meteor was completely obliterated, reduced to dust.

A dazzling purple light burst forth, instantly illuminating the entire domain.
