The moment Colin reached the first floor, before the elevator doors even opened, his keen hearing picked up the synchronized sound of weapons being chambered outside.
"Come on…"
He leaned forward slightly. The muscles in his legs bulged, and his sharp claws gleamed with a cold, deadly light.
The instant the doors slid open,
His tail swayed.
A low growl echoed.
Then he vanished.
"Fire!" the lead officer shouted.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Gunfire erupted in a relentless storm.
But Colin's speed had long surpassed what the human eye could track.
In the wide lobby, his massive form moved like a phantom, weaving effortlessly through the bullets. The few that struck him were harmlessly deflected by his hardened skin.
"Ah,!"
A soldier's arm was severed.
Then another.
And another.
Men dropped one after another.
Some soldiers broke under the pressure, firing wildly, but in the next instant, razor-sharp claws sliced through their throats.
In less than half a minute…
The entire squad was wiped out.
Unstoppable
Crushing the officer's skull without pause, Colin surged forward, charging deeper into the building.
His heart pounded violently.
Deep within him, a new organ pulsed, feeding him endless energy.
> The biological reactor of the Atomic Dinosaur… the source of Godzilla's stamina.
He could feel it clearly.
After such intense combat, instead of exhaustion,
He wanted more.
"Since it's already chaos…"
"Let's make it worse."
Ascending the Base
His enhanced senses mapped the entire facility.
Reinforcements were rushing in.
Meanwhile, the captured mutants were still confined in the exercise yard, surrounded by armed guards.
Colin glanced upward.
The control room.
That's where the inhibitor collars were managed.
"Roar!"
Another squad appeared.
This time,
He didn't dodge.
He charged straight through the gunfire.
Claws.
Spikes.
Tail.
Every part of him became a weapon.
"Attack together! He can't last long!"
"What kind of monster is this?!"
"Run,! There's no escape!"
First floor.
Second floor.
Sixth floor.
He carved his way upward.
By the time he stopped,
The once pristine building had become hell itself.
Blood soaked the floors.
Bodies and broken weapons were scattered everywhere.
Silence filled the air.
The Past Returns
Standing before the laboratory that once tormented him,
Colin slowed.
His mind blurred.
Memories surfaced.
Boom!
The blast door was torn open like paper.
Inside,
The same operating table.
The same instruments.
And photos…
Photos of him.
Back when he was helpless.
Strapped down.
Cut open.
Turned into something less than human.
Three men and one woman had stood there in those photos.
Two were already dead.
That left,
"Found you."
Colin's tail flipped the table aside.
Two trembling figures were revealed.
"Long time no see."
Matthew & Robert
One fainted instantly.
The other lost control completely.
"Matthew. Robert."
Colin smiled.
"Looks like Sarah told the truth."
His tail shot forward,
Piercing both of them, avoiding vital points.
Their screams filled the room.
"You're worse than her."
His voice turned cold.
Without hesitation, he ignited a flamethrower.
The laboratory,
Burned.
Reduced to ash.
Their struggles grew louder.
Annoying.
With a flick of his tail,
Spikes tore through them.
Silence.
Psychological Collapse
Outside, another group of soldiers surrounded him.
Colin stepped forward slowly.
"Want to live?"
His voice was low.
Tempting.
"If you want to live… run."
The soldiers trembled.
He flicked blood onto their faces.
Silence.
Tension snapped.
"Monster…!"
"Run!"
The first soldier fled.
Then all of them broke.
They ran.
Colin smiled.
Then,
He chased.
"I told you to run…"
"And you actually ran."
Moments later,
Silence returned again.
Liberation
Colin entered the control room using Owen's wristband.
Empty.
Everyone was dead.
He approached the console.
With a simple command,
All inhibitor collars shut down.
Uprising
Across the base,
Mutants froze.
Their powers had returned.
Then Colin's voice rang out over the speakers:
"My fellow mutants… you're free."
"Think about what they've done to you."
"Less than one in ten soldiers remain."
"What are you waiting for?"
"Take it back."
Silence.
Then,
Rage.
One roar sparked many.
Rebellion erupted.
The remaining soldiers stood no chance.
The base fell.
Judgment
Colin leapt down.
With a flick of his tail,
Matthew and Robert were thrown into the crowd.
The result was obvious.
Colin didn't look back.
There was still one more person.
The Hunt Begins
Ryan.
His scent stretched far.
Out of the base.
Into New York State.
"Found you."
After a brief cleanup, Colin vanished into the wilderness.
Freedom
Wind rushed past him.
For the first time,
He ran freely.
No chains.
No cages.
Just power.
Just speed.
Just freedom.
"HAHA!"
With a roar,
He accelerated.
Chasing the scent.
Chasing revenge.
Meanwhile…
Far away.
Westchester County.
At Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters,
In a bright classroom, an elderly man calmly read from The Once and Future King.
Peaceful.
Warm.
Completely unaware,
That a storm was coming.
"The most appropriate thing to do when you are sad is to understand and learn knowledge; this is the only thing that is evergreen."
The elderly man softly recited the line from the book.
Suddenly,
> "The collars have been opened. You are now free!"
A commanding male voice echoed directly in his mind.
Charles paused mid-sentence.
"Professor?" a six-year-old child asked, looking up in confusion.
"It's nothing, my child."
Charles gently closed the book and smiled.
"Class is dismissed early today. Go and rest."
"Yay!"
The children cheered as they rushed out.
The moment they left, Charles's expression turned serious.
"Scott, call Ororo. I need to see both of you."
A short while later, a man in ruby glasses and a white-haired woman stood inside the Professor's office.
"Just now," Charles began calmly, "a riot broke out at a military genetic research institute."
He paused.
"It turns out… it was a hidden Mutant research base."
Both Scott and Ororo froze.
"A secret base? In New York State?" Ororo asked, shocked.
"So close… and we didn't know?" Scott added.
"It won't be long before the military arrives," Charles continued.
"We must go first… and bring those children out."
"When do we leave?" Scott asked immediately.
"Now."
Outside ,New York Wilderness
A black blur tore across the empty road at impossible speed.
At the end of the road stood a quiet town.
Small Town ,Motel Bar
Ryan finally stopped his car, exhaling heavily.
"Far enough… I should be safe now."
He slapped the steering wheel, still shaken.
"That damn monster…"
After calming down, he grabbed his hard drives.
"At least I still have these…"
Moments later, he sat at the bar.
"Give me a Moscow Mule. Light on the lime."
Three minutes later,
A man sat beside him.
"Hey, back off," Ryan snapped.
"Same drink," the man said calmly.
"He's paying."
Ryan stood up angrily.
"You,"
But when he saw the man's face,
His anger vanished instantly.
"Sit," the man said.
It was Colin.
Colin pressed him back into his seat effortlessly.
"You… how did you get here?" Ryan stammered.
Colin took a sip of the drink.
"Thanks to you."
"Radiation… you mutated?" Ryan muttered, scanning him.
"That fast…?"
"No time," Colin said.
He grabbed Ryan by the neck and dragged him up.
Outside
Colin threw Ryan against the car.
"The hard drives."
"I don't know,"
"Sarah told me everything."
Ryan froze.
"…damn it."
He handed them over reluctantly.
"What happened to Sarah?" he asked nervously.
Colin didn't answer.
"Worry about yourself."
40 Minutes Later , Alkali Base
The car sped to a stop.
Ryan stared in horror.
The base… was gone.
Destroyed.
Blood everywhere. Debris. Silence.
"This… what happened here?" he whispered.
"Was this… you?"
"I killed most of them," Colin said calmly.
"I freed the mutants."
He looked around, frowning.
"But this? Something else finished it."
They entered the main building.
The structure was split in half. Dust fell from above.
The smell of blood was suffocating.
Ryan trembled.
"These were elite soldiers… all dead…"
"What… are you?"
Colin grabbed him tighter and walked toward the underground levels.
"I've got more important things to do."
Ryan panicked.
"No! Don't go down there!"
"Radiation leak,I'll die!"
Colin's arm shifted,
Claws extended near Ryan's throat.
Ryan froze instantly.
Colin smirked.
Underground Entrance
Just as he stepped forward,
ZZZT!
A red laser beam shot past them, burning a deep line into the ground.
A voice echoed from behind.
"Hey… I think we should sit down and talk."
