PROLOGUE — THE TYRANT’S RETURN

Long ago, there were three gods who ruled over the world.

The world known as Vistros was not born of chance, it was created.

Shaped by Brina the Wise, guided by Crona the Courageous, and governed by Bru the Dominating, it was a world meant for humanity to live, grow, and one day stand on its own.

Together, the three ruled as one.

Not as tyrants.

But as caretakers.

Brina taught wisdom and balance.

Crona inspired strength and courage.

And Bru… enforced order.

For a time, there was peace.

But as humanity grew, so did something else.

Doubt.

They began to question the gods.

Why they ruled.

Why they decided fate.

Why beings so far above them held control over their lives.

To Brina and Crona, this was natural.

Humanity was learning.

But to Bru

it was defiance.

"They forget their place," he said.

"They're finding it," Brina answered calmly.

Crona stood beside her. "And when they do, they won't need us the same way."

Bru said nothing more.

Because in his mind

that was unacceptable.

The breaking point came when humanity revolted.

Not out of hatred

but fear.

Fear of being controlled.

Fear of never being free.

And in that moment…

the unity of the gods shattered.

Bru turned away from his sisters, his voice cold and distant.

"If my vision no longer matters… then I will act alone."

What followed was not immediate destruction.

It was a slow descent into war.

Years passed. Tension grew. Lines were drawn.

One side chose to protect humanity.

The other chose to correct it.

To Bru, the answer was simple.

Humanity was flawed.

And flawed things…

should not exist.

When war finally reached its peak, Bru descended from the heavens and made his decree:

"I will end humanity."

His presence alone crushed the skies.

"And if any wish to stop me…"

His gaze turned toward his sisters.

"…then kill me."

What followed was devastation.

Bru did not hesitate.

He slaughtered countless humans, villages, cities, entire bloodlines erased beneath his power. The very world trembled under his will.

And for the first time

Crona and Brina stood against him.

Not as sisters.

But as enemies.

They chose humanity.

And in doing so, they made a decision that would change the world forever.

They gave mortals power.

Divine energy, once exclusive to gods, was passed into human blood. Clans were formed. Abilities awakened. Warriors rose where none had stood before.

Humanity was no longer helpless.

Bru's fury became absolute.

"How dare you…" he whispered.

"To arm them… against me."

The war between the gods shook existence itself.

Fire clashed against domination.

Oceans surged against overwhelming force.

Space fractured. Time bent.

And still

Bru did not fall.

Decades passed in battle.

While the gods fought, humanity trained. They sharpened their new power, preparing for the day they would stand beside the gods… or die trying.

Then

an opening.

A single moment.

Brina and Crona moved as one.

And Bru fell.

Not defeated.

But sealed.

His mind was imprisoned and cast into a deep, unconscious void. His body remained, but his will was gone.

For the first time since the war began

silence returned.

But it was not victory.

Because the seal…

was never meant to last forever.

Centuries passed.

Humanity evolved.

The bloodlines grew stronger. Clans expanded. Power spread across the world. What was once borrowed strength became something closer to their own.

But the gods paid the price.

They had remained in a world not meant for them.

And slowly

they began to fade.

Immortality slipped away. Age took hold. Weakness followed.

Unable to return to the divine realm, they made a final choice.

They lived as humans.

They loved.

They had children.

Their blood continued not as rulers above the world, but as part of it.

Even so…

it was not enough.

Because the tyrant still remained.

Waiting.

Watching.

Returning.

Years later

a boy was born.

Naoki Zenomaka.

A child of a lower branch family. No title. No expectation. No destiny anyone could see.

But the gods chose him.

They trained him personally.

Years passed as he learned the way of the sword, mana, discipline. His talent leaned toward magic, but his will matched something far greater.

Still

he was not ready.

Because the world moved first.

The air thickened.

The ground trembled.

And reality itself began to crack.

From those fractures

he returned.

Bru.

His presence alone crushed the air, pressing down on everything beneath him. The sky darkened as if rejecting his existence.

His gaze fell upon his sisters.

Once eternal.

Now aged.

Weakened.

For a moment

there was silence.

Then Bru spoke.

"I was… not rational before."

Crona didn't move.

Brina said nothing.

"I came to speak," he continued. "To explain."

And for the briefest moment…

it almost felt real.

But then

he felt it.

The power.

Not within the gods.

Within humanity.

His expression broke.

"…you gave it to them."

The air warped.

Rage returned.

"YOU GAVE THEM WHAT WAS MINE"

He moved.

Faster than thought.

Crona stepped forward

but Brina was faster.

She intercepted him.

"Crona run."

"No!"

"Take the boy."

For the first time

Crona hesitated.

Then she obeyed.

She vanished with Naoki, fire tearing through space as they fled.

And Brina stood alone.

She faced Bru without fear.

Without hesitation.

The battle that followed shook the world.

For a moment

she was winning.

Her power surged. Her control held. She pushed him back.

Until

he broke.

Bru abandoned reason.

Power flooded outward, violent, overwhelming beyond anything he had shown before.

Brina understood instantly.

This could not be won.

Only stopped.

So she made her choice.

Divine ice erupted across the battlefield, freezing everything in its path. Space itself locked in place as Bru was encased once more sealed in absolute stillness.

Silence fell.

Brina exhaled.

Slowly…

she turned.

That was her mistake.

The ice cracked.

Shattered.

In an instant

Bru was behind her.

His arm drove through her back, piercing straight through her body.

Time stopped.

Her breath caught.

"…it didn't have to be this way," he whispered.

Her strength faded.

Her vision dimmed.

"You left me… no choice."

Her body went still.

And Bru pulled his arm free.

Blood fell to the frozen ground.

He looked toward the horizon

toward where Crona had fled.

His voice was quiet.

Cold.

Final.

"One down."

(A pause)

"One to go."
