Every layer of that core had been laid down in the middle of something trying to kill him, and something like that usually leaves a permanent mark. A record of pain, dying and death… he would still have all those memories, but the markers they left behind would not remain in his soul.
I dissolved it with Celestial essence and allowed the soul to form again.

The fourth refinement produced geometry I have only ever seen in specification. The crystallisation front ran ahead of the anima feeding it, which is not supposed to be possible at this depth, and the soul began to organise itself in a direction I had not instructed.
