GA: Chapter 141: Tenshi Zixin's Fondness for Bai Xuan — The Connection Between Mystery and Technology

It was as though something shrouded the whole of him in a layer of mysterious power — nothing could be read from it at all.

"Doraemon, like those armors and transformation devices, was materialized using my ability."

"His entire body is composed of technology — but you won't be able to analyze it."

Bai Xuan stepped forward and addressed Tenshi Zixin.

Doraemon was indeed a product of advanced technology, every component of his body built from different scientific principles — but he had been materialized through Bai Xuan's mystical power. His body, and the various impossible inventions within the four-dimensional pocket, all fell under the category of objects touched by the mystical.

None of that technology could be researched.

If it could, the Mouse Talisman alone would be worth far more than a million points.

More precious than the Infinity Stones.

Though in a certain sense, what the Mouse Talisman was already capable of was considered by some to be more valuable than the Infinity Stones even now.

"And you're staring at Doraemon so intently — it's making him uncomfortable."

At Bai Xuan's words, Tenshi Zixin snapped back to herself and turned to Doraemon with an immediate apology.

"I'm sorry — I wasn't considering your feelings."

"It's fine, really."

Doraemon scratched the back of his head and smiled.

"Alright, Bai Xuan — I'm going back to my game."

As he said it, he shot a meaningful, pointed look between Bai Xuan and Tenshi Zixin, then returned to the room under Bai Xuan's gaze — exasperated, but with just a hint of a smile in it.

Tenshi Zixin's eyes lingered on the departing Doraemon for a long moment, reluctant to look away.

She finally understood why Sacred Kesha and her teacher placed such weight on Bai Xuan. Converting things from imagination into physical reality — even the angel civilization had never possessed technology like that, and the distance between where they stood and something of that nature was immeasurably vast.

Hikari had purchased the Twelve Talismans — but not all of them had been handed over for research. More accurately, a select few with interesting abilities had been assigned to the angels with the greatest research capability.

The Celestial Base King Hexi, for instance.

So Zixin hadn't heard about the Mouse Talisman.

In truth, what made Sacred Kesha and Celestial Base King Hexi value Bai Xuan was his own potential — whether it was joining the chat group alongside Hikari, or being blessed by the planet itself and granted the [Authority of Nature].

Beyond those reasons, the more significant factor was the inexplicably high compatibility between Bai Xuan and the angels.

Nothing about the data they'd entered on him had seemed particularly unusual. And yet those numbers had been telling them clearly and unmistakably that there was an enormous affinity between Bai Xuan and the angel civilization.

As if heaven itself had sent him as a gift to them.

Even the Galaxy Power, who had been partly designed by angels themselves — with Sacred Language algorithms and the Wings of the Angel built into him — hadn't produced anywhere near this level of compatibility.

To this day, they still couldn't explain it.

But not understanding the reason didn't mean they doubted the Treasury's data. On this point, even Celestial Base King Hexi could offer no real rebuttal.

She simply disliked love being decided by numbers — but she could not deny the Sacred Knowledge Treasury's accuracy.

Countless experiments had proven it: what the Treasury identified almost always turned out to be an angel's ideal person.

From their perspective, investing in Bai Xuan was a guaranteed return. And it would bring a worthy man back to the angel civilization in the process.

As for what Tenshi Zixin felt upon meeting Bai Xuan—

Shyness. And surprise.

She didn't know him yet. But Bai Xuan's near-flawless appearance was something no female angel could resist.

Like her teacher Hexi, Tenshi Zixin was someone who placed considerable weight on looks.

In the original story, when Tenshi Zixin had seen Death Reaper Karl, she had said he had a face that didn't look like a villain's — and then...

At the very least, the impression Bai Xuan gave Zixin was a good one.

A face like that was more beautiful than any man she had ever imagined in her daydreams.

"I believe they're called Pikachu — electric-type Pokémon."

"Extraordinary physical condition. Already not inferior to a first-generation super soldier. With their own innate ability, they could hold their own against a second-generation."

As she spoke, Zixin quietly reached out to pet the two Pikachu who had hopped over to her with curious eyes. The smooth, soft fur made her hand linger longer than she intended.

"Pika pika."

"Pikachu."

Both Pikachu showed not the slightest resistance to Tenshi Zixin's touch — if anything, they seemed to love it.

Just as the Pokémon's simple, good-natured character drew the angels in, so too did the angels' righteousness and kindness draw the Pokémon.

The two of them squinted with pleasure and leaned into her hands. One of them went so far as to leap onto Zixin's shoulder and nuzzle against her cheek.

A laugh escaped Zixin before she could stop it. She looked at the two of them with unabashed delight.

She gathered the other one carefully into her arms, her movements so gentle it was as if she feared the slightest pressure might cause harm.

"You've probably studied spiritual energy as a particular form of energy — it has an exceptionally strong auxiliary effect on the evolution of living things."

"Even a creature without any ability at all, one that doesn't cultivate, simply living within a space infused with it — their lifespan would extend."

"And what they eat every day would be considered rare natural treasures out in the wider world."

The Pikachu's food was made from spiritual fruit compressed from countless fruits nurtured within his spatial pocket — the density of spiritual energy within it surpassed even naturally occurring rare herbs from the outside world.

If they weren't averse to fighting, and if everything they consumed were fully absorbed rather than partially digested, their strength would already be at an entirely different level.

Though Bai Xuan didn't concern himself with that. From the very beginning, he'd never had any intention of sending the Pikachu into battle.

To him, they were companions for daily life. Simply watching them had a way of making his mood lift without him even noticing.

He'd been considering whether to purchase another group of Pokémon to release into the spatial pocket — it was large enough, and keeping some Pokémon there wouldn't be a problem. That way the Pikachu wouldn't feel lonely either.

"Pikachu."

At Bai Xuan's words, the Pikachu that had been nuzzling against Zixin leapt back onto Bai Xuan's shoulder, rubbing against his cheek like a spoiled child seeking attention.

"You — now you won't even let me say anything."

The corner of Bai Xuan's mouth curved into a quiet smile as he patted the Pikachu's head, his eyes full of undisguised fondness.

Tenshi Zixin held the other Pikachu and watched — and a thought surfaced in her heart before she could stop it:

The chosen one really is kind.

Someone who Pokémon liked and depended on this much couldn't possibly be a bad person.

Time passed quietly.

In the hours that followed, Bai Xuan and Tenshi Zixin engaged in a substantial exchange — touching on the intersection between science and mystery, between technology and the mystical.

Whether mystical or scientific, the two paths inevitably shared a convergence point somewhere. And once that point was reached, the distinction between mystical and scientific stopped mattering altogether.
